An investigation was conducted to study the socio-economic profile of 225 dairy farm women Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. The study revealed that majority of the women belonged to middle age group (68%), other caste (54.22%) and had primary education (36.44%). Most of them were married (95.11%), belonged to nuclear families (73.33%) and had small family size (67.11%). Agricultural farming and dairying was the major occupation (52.88%) of women in the study area. Most of the women had medium level of experience in dairying (46.66%). Only 8% of women dairy farmers had exposure to training related to dairying, 73.77% of them are members in DWCRA/SHG and only 19.55% are members in cooperative societies. Majority of women dairy farmers were occasionally in contact with veterinarian (45.77%), para veterinarian (38.66%), friends and relatives (71.55%). Women under the medium farmer category were more exposed to television (50.66%), news paper (17.33%) and farm magazine (14.66%) compared to landless and small farmer category. Small farm women (587.00±81.70) obtained more income (rupees/ day) through dairying followed by medium (516.34±54.35) and landless (385.66±32.39) farm women.
Liquid metal catalysts (LMCats) (e.g., molten copper) can provide a new mass-production method for two-dimensional materials (2DMs) (e.g., graphene) with significantly higher quality and speed and lower energy and material consumption. To reach such technological excellence, the physicochemical properties of LMCats and the growth mechanisms of 2DMs on LMCats should be investigated. Here, we report the development of a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) reactor which allows the investigation of ongoing chemical reactions on the surface of a molten metal at elevated temperatures and under reactive conditions. The surface of the molten metal is monitored simultaneously using synchrotron x-ray scattering, Raman spectroscopy, and optical microscopy, thereby providing complementary information about the atomic structure and chemical state of the surface. To enable in situ characterization on a molten substrate at high temperatures (e.g., ∼1370 K for copper), the optical and x-ray windows need to be protected from the evaporating LMCat, reaction products, and intense heat. This has been achieved by creating specific gas-flow patterns inside the reactor. The optimized design of the reactor has been achieved using multiphysics COMSOL simulations, which take into account the heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and transport of LMCat vapor inside the reactor. The setup has been successfully tested and is currently used to investigate the CVD growth of graphene on the surface of molten copper under pressures ranging from medium vacuum up to atmospheric pressure.
A study was conducted in adopted villages of KVK Bundi to assess the effect of supplementing shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) feed on performance of lactating buffaloes. Twenty lactating buffaloes in mid lactation with similar age, body weight and milk yield were selected from dairy farms of the local farmers and divided into two groups of ten animals each. Control group was maintained as per farmer's practices (feeding of 3 kg cotton seed cake along with wheat straw), while groups comprising feeding of wheat straw + shatavari powder 50gm /day /animal up to 60 days. Result revealed that 19.67 per cent higher average milk yield was recorded in buffaloes feeding under group (7.36 kg/day) as compared to (6.15 kg/day). Increase in the income by feeding Shatavari came to Rs. 50.50/day/animal. It was concluded that feeding of Shatavari along with wheat straw improves milk yield and fat percent as well as reproductive performance in lactating buffaloes.
The paper depicts the Erasmus+ project “Individual DifferEntiated correct writing with Blogs - Individualizing and Implementing (IDeRBlog ii)”. IDeRBlog ii is a follow-up project evolving the result of IDeRBlog, a blogging platform for pupils aged eight and above. The project is an international cooperation between 3 countries in Europe. This paper presents an overview of possibilities in context of individualization of the exercises. Further, it covers the benefits of using the platform, e.g. learning about media competences, how to communicate online and the possibility to get individualized exercises for supported during their writing process by the feedback of the intelligent dictionary.
