We investigate inclusive forward single-hadron production in high-energy proton–proton collisions using a CGC-inspired Monte Carlo event generator, MC-CGC. We carried out a systematic study of the sensitivity of the running-coupling Balitsky-Kovchegov (rcBK) evolution equation to its initial conditions by comparing three parameterizations: the McLerran-Venugopalan (MV) model and its two HERA DIS-constrained variants, MV^γ and MV^e. Our results indicate that the current LHCb data favor the MV^γ and MV^e models, while the differences from the original MV model become more pronounced at higher transverse momentum and at mid-rapidity. As a complementary analysis, we also compared the dilute-dense (DHJ factorization) and dense-dense (k_T factorization) frameworks. We found that the k_T factorization framework provides a better description of the particle production spectra at mid-rapidity than the DHJ framework, where both the projectile and target are in the dense regime at LHC energies. Predictions for the FoCal measurements at ALICE, including the production of identified neutral mesons and jets, are also presented.
A systematic review was conducted on case reports of Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS) in Japanese patients published prior to 2023, focusing on clinical features. Particular attention was paid to the interval from LEMS onset to diagnosis, examining the clinical question (CQ): 'How can the time to diagnosis be shortened?' Patient profiles showed a male predominance, with 76 males and 21 females among the total 97 cases, yielding a male-to-female ratio of 3.6:1. The median age of onset (mean±standard deviation) across all cases was 62.0 (59.3±11.7) years, with the age distribution peaking in the 70s. For cases with tumour involvement (n=84), the median age at onset (mean±SD) was 62.5 (60.2±10.8) years, and the median duration of illness prior to LEMS diagnosis (mean±SD) was 3.0 (4.9±5.7) months. Conversely, for cases without tumour involvement (n=13), the median age at onset (mean±SD) was 52.0 (53.5±15.8) years, and the median duration of illness (mean±standard deviation) was 6.0 (21.1±25.7) months. Based on the above CQ responses, LEMS should be actively suspected and electrophysiological testing considered when neurological symptoms include lower limb muscle weakness combined with ocular symptoms such as ptosis and diplopia, and further autonomic symptoms such as dry mouth. Furthermore, it was considered that P/Q-type VGCC antibody testing could potentially be utilised prior to diagnosis by electrophysiological testing. We investigate thermal dilepton production from a quark-gluon plasma (QGP) with finite baryon chemical potential (μ_B) in central Pb-Pb collisions at √(s_NN)=5.02 TeV. Recent studies suggest that sizable baryon densities can be achieved at forward rapidity even at LHC energies. We incorporate finite μ_B into a (3+1)-dimensional hydrodynamic framework and find that μ_B exceeds 500 MeV around η_s = 6 during the medium evolution. Using this framework, we calculate thermal dilepton spectra over a wide rapidity range and evaluate the impact of finite μ_B on dilepton production. A suppression of 3-4
This paper presents the design, analysis, and validation of a digitally controlled DC-DC converter intended for the anode power supply of a Hall thruster. The converter employs a digital peak current-mode scheme, in which the performance is strongly influenced by the characteristics of the peak current detector. A simple analogue peak-detection circuit is designed and analyzed, and its timing behavior is evaluated through simulations and experiments over the full operating range of 100–200 V and 2–7.5 A. A delay inherent to the detector is identified and modeled using a single correction parameter, enabling accurate prediction of the peak-turnoff instant. PSIM simulations confirm stable operation, acceptable load regulation, and adequate on-time margin. Experimental measurements demonstrate that the delay model closely reproduces the detector behavior, even when considering the dependence on load current. These results show that the proposed peak-current detection approach is well suited for the digital implementation of wide-range DC-DC converters used in Hall thruster power-processing units.
