Spinel-based coatings were deposited on Fe2O3-rich ceramic particles to investigate their microstructural stability and optical properties during thermocyclic oxidation at 1000 degrees C for up to 3000 h. The solar absorptance over time remained stable at a very high level (around 97 %) for the Cu-Cr and Cu-Mn-Co spinel coatings, whereas the Cu-Mn-Fe spinel coating showed a significant increase in its solar absorptance during early stages of exposure and thereafter maintained a stable behavior around 95 %. The microstructural investigations, coupling EPMA analysis with phase mapping via Raman spectroscopy, revealed the formation of complex microstructures consisting of different spinel phases for the coatings due to high temperature interdiffusion between the spinels and the substrate, respectively. Such exchange reactions continued during thermocyclic exposure, but they did not affect the highly promising long-term solar absorptance of the coatings for particle-based CST applications.
Abstract: The creation of an international transdisciplinary chair is essential in a society that is losing its fundamental values and points of reference. The experience accumulated by the international center for transdisciplinary research (CIRET) over the last three decades under the impetus of B. Nicolescu and E. Morin in France is exemplary in this respect. Echoing many transdisciplinary approaches worldwide, it has initiated a reform of thinking that must be pursued and extended without interruption. Here are two examples that are fully in line with this perspective: 1/the initiative of the PSA (Plasticités Sciences Arts) experimental transdisciplinary research group, which has been working since the charter was established (1994) to set up transdisciplinary practices around the concept of plasticity; 2/ the joint proposal by French and Brazilian transdisciplinary structures to create a Transdisciplinary chair at the university (2007) and contemporary works on the plasticity of living systems in line with these pioneering initiatives (20192023). The fact that transdisciplinarity has been established in several academic institutions and that some of the major areas of research undertaken by the PSA group, such as the study of posturology in experimental medicine, highlighting essential plastic interfaces in living systems and the study of relationships between art and science, now have powerful ramifications, including institutions, shows us the extent to which plasticity of life and transdisciplinary attitude are complementary. It’s a mutation of cultures and consciousness that highlights human plasticity and encourages us to keep moving forward!
In the context of internationalization, the supply chain (SC) becomes complex with a profusion of decisions to take. SC modeling and performances have been widely discussed by researchers. The emergence of new technologies impacts the running and key performance indicators (KPI) of SC. There are several models of SC but none of them are oriented towards SC operations management, given importance of Industry 4.0 technologies. This paper presents a research methodology using a reference model called GRAILOG to capture decisions and related KPI's to control the SC. Then, the methodology PPTechIP is described and applied to accompany the company on the relevant digital transformation to improve performances. PPTechIP is based on a set of radars divided into different decision levels and SC functions based on the GRAILOG model. The calculated potential of progress helps in decision-making. This complete method was applied to PSA which is entering the Industry 4.0 era. The obtained results provide several interesting insights into PSA's control indicators. Big Data, augmented reality, collaborative robots and Cloud Computing are receiving a lot of attention from PSA and are considered as priorities for the control of its processes.
