Climate change has emerged as a critical global concern in the twenty-first century, significantly altering various weather elements due to a combination of natural processes and, more prominently, anthropogenic activities. One of the major consequences of climate change is the intensification of climatic extremes. The Mayurakshi River Basin, like many other river systems, faces significant threats from these changing climatic conditions. The primary aim of this study is to assess the trends and spatiotemporal variability of extreme precipitation and temperature events in the Mayurakshi River Basin. To achieve this, two key meteorological parameters- precipitation and temperature were analyzed using nonparametric statistical methods, specifically the Mann-Kendall (MK) trend test and Sen’s slope estimator. The analysis focuses on the frequency and magnitude of selected extreme climate indices at both seasonal and annual scales. Results reveal that while a few indices exhibit a negative or decreasing trend, the majority show significant positive or increasing trends across different time scales. This pattern points to growing climate variability and disturbances, which in turn heighten the risks of floods and droughts in the basin. In conclusion, the findings underscore climate change as a pressing challenge for the region. This study provides vital insights for sustainable water resource management, supports informed policy-making, and aids in the design of resilient infrastructure to mitigate the impacts of extreme weather events in the Mayurakshi River Basin.
The study investigates the influence of social media influencers (SMIs) on retail investors’ stock market decisions from a behavioural finance perspective. Utilising a quantitative, cross-sectional survey methodology, data were collected from 300 retail investors in India who actively follow financial influencers on platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter). The study examines the extent of reliance on influencers, the role of influencer credibility (IC), and the emotional triggers (ET) such as fear of missing out (FOMO) that shape investment behaviours. Structural equation modelling (SEM) via Amos and descriptive statistics were employed to analyse the data. Findings reveal that SMIs significantly impact retail investors’ decisions, with ET acting as mediating variables, while IC has a nuanced, sometimes inverse effect. The results highlight the behavioural biases that influence retail investors and underscore the growing importance of digital platforms in shaping financial literacy and investment strategies. The study contributes to the literature by linking behavioural finance with digital engagement, offering insights for improving investor awareness, curbing misinformation, and encouraging responsible financial communication on social media.
This paper presents a simulation study of an end-to-end acoustic binary image transmission system over an indoor acoustic channel. The proposed system integrates an adaptive run-length encoding (RLE) pre-compression stage, Hamming (7,4) error correction coding (ECC), and a comparative evaluation of non-coherent binary frequency-shift keying (FSK) and coherent binary phase-shift keying (BPSK). The acoustic channel is modelled as an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel with a three-tap multipath component representative of measured indoor room reflections. Performance is evaluated through analytical bit error rate (BER) expressions over a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) range of −5 dB to 20 dB, and image quality is assessed using peak signal-tonoise ratio (PSNR) and structural similarity index (SSIM). Four key findings are reported. First, BPSK achieves $BER =10^{-4}$ at approximately 8 dB SNR, which is about 3 dB better than FSK at the same error rate. Second, the derived multipath SNR penalty is 1.5 dB for FSK and 3.0 dB for BPSK, confirming that non-coherent FSK has better noise immunity in reverberant channels. Third, Hamming (7,4) ECC reduces the post-decoding BER by approximately 26 times at SNR = 12 dB, with the lossless recovery threshold (SSIM =1.0) remaining stable at 12 dB regardless of image size, from 16 × 16 to 32 × 32 pixels. Fourth, a formal adaptive RLE selection criterion is derived, showing that compression ratio scales linearly with image dimension for structured binary patterns, reaching $\text{CR}=7.11$ at $32 \times 32$ resolution and cutting transmission time from 8960 ms to 1260 ms compared to uncompressed transmission. Hardware validation on an ESP32 (built-in DAC) and Raspberry Pi Pico (PWM-based audio) is planned as a direct future extension.
In India still Digital Divide is a problem. To cope up with this divide, basic knowledge about mobile phones is required because if people can handle mobile phones, then they will think about the next step that mean they will get interest in use of the Internet or other higher technologies. There are many people who have no computers but they access mobile phones and many of them do not know the entire offline applications like how to use calculator, save numbers, use camera, message etc. This work will be on those senior citizens who are not interested or not getting the chance to learn about their mobile phone applications and internet. For this research work the researcher used a survey method where the researcher used both open and close-ended questionnaires to collect cross sectional data.
Abstract This paper examines the influence of physicochemical parameters on drug distribution within vascular tissue following the implantation of a drug-eluting stent (DES) through a mathematical model. The governing equations representing the transport of free drug eluted from DES, and two-phase binding, namely, extracellular matrix (ECM) binding and receptor (REC) binding are solved numerically in an explicit manner. A class of boundary conditions, such as the Dirichlet, Neumann, and Robin types, are used at the mural interface and the perivascular end. Simulations predict that an increase in inter-strut distance amplifies the concentration of all forms but at larger times, this distinction disappears. Concomitantly, a time-dependent release of the drug contributes to the diminishing concentration after attaining its respective peak value. Furthermore, predicted results show a significant difference in the concentrations for no-flux and sink conditions at the interfaces. Moreover, findings show sirolimous drug has a larger mean ECM-bound drug than paclitaxel; however, the trend for REC-bound drug is reversed. Finally, the effect of advection, strut diameter and stent embedment can not be ruled out in this investigation.
