The objective of this study was to evaluate the response of soybean cultivars under the application of different doses of Effective Microorganisms [EM-1]. The field experiment was conducted at Estancia La Margarita II, San Pedro, Department of San Pedro, Paraguay, at an elevation of 200 m a.s.l., at coordinates 23°40′38.5″S, 56°54′24.7″W. A randomized complete block design was used, with eight treatments and three replications, totaling 24 experimental units in a 2 × 4 factorial arrangement: factor A = soybean cultivars and factor B = EM-1 dose. Data were subjected to analysis of variance, and means were compared using Tukey’s test at the 1% and 5% significance levels; regression analysis was also performed. Measurements included plant height at 30, 60, and 90 days after sowing [DAS], number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, and yield (kg ha-1). The statistical analysis showed that plant height differed significantly for factor B (EM-1 dose) at 30 DAS and highly significantly for both factors at 60 and 90 DAS, with a significant interaction only at 90 DAS. For pods per plant, both factors and their interaction (A × B) were highly significant, whereas grains per pod showed no statistical differences. Regarding yield, significant differences were found for both factors; notably, the 30 L ha⁻¹ EM-1 dose achieved the highest yield (1,916.16 kg ha-1), corresponding to a 29.68% increase.
Background: Traditional lesson planning in higher education is frequently organized around linear didactic moments: opening, development, and closure. Although this structure helps sequence content, it may be insufficient for health professions education. Objective: This study explored faculty perspectives on the limits of linear instructional design and the need for flexible university lesson planning in medical and dental education. Methods: A qualitative descriptive study was conducted using semi-structured interviews with five faculty members from Medicine and Dentistry in May 2026. Participants taught medical physiology, biophysics, epidemiology/family medicine, pathophysiology/clinical semiology, and dental semiology. Data were collected through written, virtual, and face-to-face modalities. Thematic analysis was performed through repeated reading, inductive coding, theme development, and cross-case comparison. Reporting was informed by qualitative research standards, including transparent description of sampling, interview procedures, reflexivity, coding, and representative quotations. Results: Participants did not reject didactic structure; rather, they questioned its rigid and administrative use. Five interrelated themes emerged: the continuing organizational value of didactic moments, the limitations of linearity and rigidity, the need for active and competency-oriented strategies, the centrality of formative assessment and feedback, and the institutional conditions required for flexible planning. Faculty emphasized case discussion, simulation, problem-based learning, flipped classroom strategies, collaborative work, and digital technologies, including artificial intelligence, as complementary resources. Conclusions: Health professions teaching should move beyond rigid interpretations of didactic moments toward flexible, evidence-informed, competency-oriented lesson planning. Institutional support, faculty development, pedagogical autonomy, assessment reform, and systematic documentation of teaching improvement are essential for sustainable change.
This paper analyzes the issue of excessive use of the internet and its relationship with addiction in children, youth, and adults. The review of the literature allowed us to identify that excessive use of the internet can have negative consequences in various areas, such as mental health, academic and work performance, and interpersonal relationships. The need for individuals to take measures to regulate their Internet consumption and avoid falling into addiction was highlighted. The methodology used in the research was based on a systematic review of the existing literature on the subject, which included the selection of relevant articles and the extraction of pertinent data. The results obtained from the review indicated that excessive use of the internet is a significant problem in many countries, including Ecuador, and that its impact can be significant in the general population. Among the main conclusions, the need to promote education on the responsible use of the internet from an early age stands out, as well as the importance of carrying out therapeutic interventions in those individuals who already present symptoms of addiction. In short, it is concluded that the excessive use of the internet is an increasingly worrisome phenomenon today, so it is necessary to continue investigating and taking measures to prevent and treat addiction to this technological tool.
This work presents an autonomous navigation system with obstacle detection and avoidance for Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs), utilizing computer vision based on deep semantic segmentation. A lightweight version of the WaSR-T model, adapted for execution on the embedded Jetson Nano platform, is employed. We adopted a community-developed, lightweight version of the WaSR-T model [2] to meet our computational constraints, focusing our contribution on the practical integration of this segmentation model into a functional aquatic navigation system. A comprehensive software framework was developed to interpret the model’s outputs for real-time decision-making. The system evaluates obstacle presence through a 6 × 6 grid analysis of segmented frames and autonomously generates alternative navigation routes. Vision and navigation modules communicate via a REST Application Programming Interface (API). The approach prioritizes computational and energy efficiency, achieving a real-time performance of 13 Frames Per Second (FPS) with an F1 score of 84.4
