ABSTRACT Vector-borne diseases, particularly mosquitoes like Aedes aegypti, remain a serious public health issue in Indonesia. One environmentally friendly solution is the use of mosquito-repellent plants such as citronella (Cymbopogon nardus), which contains active compounds such as citronellal and geraniol, which have been proven effective as natural repellents. This community service program aims to provide training to residents on how to make mosquito repellent spray from citronella, while also encouraging the potential for home-based businesses based on natural ingredients. The implementation method includes counseling, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in spray making. The results showed that participants experienced an increase in their understanding of dengue fever by 30%, the benefits of citronella by 33%, extraction skills by 55%, spray formulation by 57%, and packaging by 40%. This activity also succeeded in fostering entrepreneurial interest among participants. Thus, this training not only provides a preventive solution to vector-borne diseases but also opens up opportunities for economic growth based on local potential. Improving mathematical literacy through digital technology remains an important challenge in secondary mathematics education. This study developed and evaluated a web-integrated e-book with collaborative metacognitive scaffolding (CMS) to improve eighth-grade students’ mathematical literacy in growth contexts involving linear and nonlinear functions. CMS was operationalized through prompts, animated dialogue, reflective questions, and group-oriented tasks that guided students in comprehension, connection, monitoring, evaluation, reflection, motivation, and collaboration during mathematical reasoning. The study used a Research and Development approach based on the Plomp model and evaluated product quality in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The effectiveness test involved 66 students from a public junior high school in Pati Regency, Indonesia, with 34 students in the experimental group and 32 students in the control group. The intervention was implemented over five classroom meetings using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design. The results showed that the e-book met the criteria for validity and practicality based on expert judgment, teacher responses, student responses, and classroom implementation. The experimental group showed a significant improvement in mathematical literacy, with an N-gain score of 0.42 indicating a moderate level of improvement. Posttest results also showed that students who learned through the web-integrated e-book with CMS achieved better mathematical literacy than students who received regular instruction. SEM-PLS analysis further indicated that metacognitive activity was the strongest factor associated with students’ mathematical literacy. The study contributes a pedagogically structured digital resource that integrates contextual growth problems, multiple representations, and CMS rather than relying on digital presentation alone.
Local food is a viable alternative to traditional food sources for meeting people's food needs. Central Java Province is a fairly high producer of porang. This is proven. One location with many farmers growing porang is in the buffer district of Surakarta City, namely Sukoharjo Regency. The production of food crops, especially porang in Sukoharjo, is what actually provides supplies to urban areas. Porang plants are sold in processed form, such as flour. The added value of this product increases economic value. The purpose of this study is to reveal the strengthening of the porang creative economy in Central Java Province through the creation of value-added products and the introduction of a communal business system that could potentially encourage porang production to become one of the iconic products in Central Java. This study uses a descriptive analytical method. This study utilizes primary data collected through direct interviews with farmers. The respondents of this study were 50 porang farmers in Sukoharjo Regency who are members of the Sukoharjo Porang Farmers' Friends (SPPS) in Kamal Village, Bulu District, Sukoharjo Regency. Data analysis used the Hayami method of value-added analysis and a literature review of the communal introduction system. The value-added analysis results show that glucomannan flour production generates an added value of IDR 199,641 per kg of porang tuber raw material with a ratio of 72.25%. The profit obtained by the trading business is IDR. 186,483 per kilogram of porang tuber raw material with a profit ratio of 68.68%. The communal introduction system enables the porang business to be well-managed, as there are still porang farmers outside Sukoharjo Regency who continue to plant. Communal integration can stabilize production supplies, thereby strengthening existing institutions and necessitating testing in the three districts involved.
Uji prasyarat analisis diselenggarakan melalui uji normalitas Liliefors, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji homogenitas F. Untuk analisis hipotesis, dipakai uji t (Independent t-Test) melalui tingkat signifikansi 5%. This study proposes to investigate the impact of stress management due to self-stigma in Tuberculosis using interprofessional collaboration. Intervention applied by the medical and nurse professional students. A total of 36 respondents were investigated for their level of self-stigma, given information, and demonstrated stress management, then follow-ups for one month via WhatsApp platform, a total of 8 sessions. Self-stigma of Tuberculosis was measured before and after the intervention. The paired t-test showed -4.772 and a probability of 0.0001. Interprofessional collaboration might have implications for the education of medical and nurse professional students.
