This study analyzes the predictive dynamics of femicide in Peru using a departmental data panel (2015-2023) to strengthen early warning systems and optimize state response. Methodologically, the performance of an advanced machine learning model, Gradient Boosting Regressor (GBR), was contrasted against the traditional econometric ARIMAX(1,0,0) approach. A rigorous expanding window validation and the Diebold-Mariano test were implemented to evaluate the temporal robustness and statistical significance of the forecasts. Results validated the superiority of the GBR with a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.313, achieving a 45% reduction in predictive error compared to classical methods. Interpretability analysis using SHAP values identified that the historical inertia of the phenomenon constitutes the main predictor (62%); however, prior reports of sexual and psychological violence emerge as more critical early warning signals than physical violence. It is concluded that non-linear modeling detects specific windows of preventive opportunity that linear models ignore. These findings suggest an urgent reorientation of public policies toward the containment of sexual violence as a lethal precursor. By allowing for an evidence-based algorithmic resource allocation, these models can effectively interrupt the cycle of violence before a fatal outcome occurs, closing the gap between formal reports and effective victim protection.
In recent years, it has become evident that economic indicators such as GDP and GNP are insufficient to capture societal well-being, which has led to the growing use of subjective measures focused on individuals' lived experiences. In this context, the present study approaches well-being from two complementary traditions: the hedonic perspective, represented by subjective well-being, and eudaimonic perspective, associated with psychological well-being. The main objective is to propose a methodology for the comprehensive measurement of well-being through a fuzzy inference system (FIS), which employs rule-based structures that emulate human reasoning to integrate cognitive and affective evaluations, as well as multidimensional perceptions of psychological well-being based on model. The methodology is implemented using official well-being survey data from Mexico. As a result, a unique composite indicator of overall well-being is obtained, which has not previously been available in national statistics. The findings show high and stable over time, consistent with the homeostatic theory of well-being and Ryff's model. Furthermore, the proposed approach aligns with OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) recommendations, contributing to a more comprehensive assessment well-being.
This study examines the influence of gender on the perception of organizational mission, drawing on the mission dimension of the Denison Organizational Culture Survey (DOCS) and its subdimensions, vision, goals and objectives, and strategic direction, within a Spanish technology-sector company. A cross-sectional quantitative design was employed in a leading organization in the sector (n = 487), using the Spanish-validated DOCS instrument and comparing gender-based evaluations through statistical analyses. The findings suggest statistically significant gender differences in the vision and goals and objectives subdimensions, indicating that women tend to assign greater importance to components associated with a long-term, inclusive, and ethically oriented perspective. In contrast, no significant gender differences were observed in perceptions of strategic direction, suggesting that this subdimension may be more strongly shaped by organizational routines and standardized management frameworks characteristic of the technology sector. The results are consistent with social identity theory and role congruity theory, and they provide empirical evidence of gender-based differences in the interpretation of organizational culture and mission within technological contexts.
The article sets out the main objective of analyzing the bidirectional relationship between fictional audiovisual narratives and contemporary technoscientific imaginaries in order to address the following question: do scientific innovations imitate cinema, or is it cinema that anticipates the hidden desires of science? To this end, the study conducts a film analysis of science fiction films and television series, complemented by a critical review of the specialized literature. The results show how cinematic narratives have predicted technological innovations decades in advance, while certain works of fiction have raised ethical and philosophical debates about scientific progress and technological determinism before these emerged in reality. The article concludes that science fiction has anticipated numerous technological advances and that the works analyzed go beyond the model of cinema as a mere mirror: through a fictional entanglement, they transcend their entertainment function and become a critical space that questions the limits of society in relation to technoscience, while providing conceptual frameworks that encourage reflection on bioethics and posthumanism.
In an organizational environment shaped by uncertainty, digital transformation, and hybrid work models, internal communication has assumed a fundamentally strategic role. In this context, it is essential to understand how it is conceived, implemented, and evaluated from a professional perspective. To this end, this study analyzes six leading reports published by Dirci, Dialenga, and Gallagher between 2023 and 2025 through a descriptive comparative documentary analysis, with the aim of providing a structured overview of the current state, recent evolution, and main challenges of the field. The findings reveal the consolidation of a more strategic understanding of internal communication. From a professional standpoint, there is growing emphasis on aligning it with organizational culture and corporate values, fostering environments of listening and dialogue, supporting transformation processes, and strengthening internal leadership. Internal communication thus emerges as a key lever for enhancing employee engagement, reinforcing a sense of belonging, and contributing to organizational change. Overall, the findings provide an up-to-date diagnosis that reinforces the role of internal communication as an agent of transformation, a driver of strategic objectives, and a key factor in sustaining employee engagement.
Access to housing has become a major factor in social stratification. In cities around the world, the property market is a preferred area for speculative investment and, at the same time, an active factor in processes of social exclusion. The application of the European Typology of Homelessness and Housing Exclusion (ETHOS) has become established as a tool for research and the design of different public policies in Europe. The aim of this article is to reflect theoretically and methodologically on the scope and limits of this framework for analysing the current urban and residential issue. Some conclusions are put forward regarding the various problems of measurement and conceptualisation that have arisen from the application of ETHOS to a specific territorial area (Comunidad Valenciana). From there, some theoretical limitations of the concept of "housing exclusion" are described, derived both from profound changes in urban and territorial logic and from the generalisation of a global mass vulnerability with regard to habitat.
This article maps academic discourse at the intersection of corporate networks and the energy transition over 2015-2026. It aims to identify the field's dominant thematic structure, estimate the presence and integration of corporate-power vocabulary, and highlight asymmetries that can inform a research agenda. Using a cleaned Scopus corpus, we conduct bibliometric analyses combining title/keyword co-occurrence, descriptive indicators, and temporal trends, complemented by a terminology-sensitivity check. Results reveal a technoclimatic, implementation-oriented core organized around renewables, decarbonization, energy policy, and investment. Critical political-economy notions (e.g., incumbency, lobbying, interlocks, regulatory capture) appear unevenly and, when present, tend to remain peripheral with limited connectivity to the main organizing concepts. This pattern points to conceptual segmentation: the transition is predominantly framed as a technological deployment and management problem, while power and institutional influence are less integrated into the field's core structure. We discuss implications for research and transition assessment, and outline avenues that combine bibliometrics with co-citation, collaboration networks, and elite data (interlocks, ownership, PEPs) to more directly link power structures to decarbonization pathways.
Contemporary digital platforms are frequently critiqued as engines of attention extraction and cultural homogenization. This article addresses a gap in platform studies by proposing a Bergsonian-Deleuzian framework to analyze digital media as sites of "affective flow." Adopting a meta-theoretical methodology grounded in philosophical hermeneutics, the study pursues a central research question: how do distinct digital media architectures engineer affective temporalities, and what are the ethical implications for global cultural circulation? It hypothesizes that platform designs mobilize Bergson's dur & eacute;e and Deleuze's affect images to manufacture qualitative experiences that exceed metric capture, and that cultural specificity functions as an affective intensifier rather than a barrier to global circulation. The study synthesizes empirical findings across three case studies: the algorithmic rhythm of TikTok, the haptic immersion of the VR narrative The Wolves in the Walls, and the curation of Indian streaming services. Key findings show how TikTok manufactures "synthetic duration," how VR employs "subtractive perception" to generate affective depth, and how Indian streaming platforms enable global resonance by preserving culturally specific temporalities beyond linguistic boundaries. Consequently, the article outlines an Ethical Design Praxis grounded in "subtraction," "multiplicity," and "resonance without erasure"-a roadmap for resisting cultural flattening while enabling embodied resonance.
The prevailing interpretation of cultural consumption is that it is the result of social structures, particularly educational level and social background. While Bourdieu's concept of cultural capital is complex, it neglects social and emotional aspects. Nevertheless, this perspective is limited by a static logic which assumes that individuals with similar social capital will exhibit comparable patterns of cultural consumption. Consequently, these perspectives fail to adequately address the motivational and emotional factors that influence individuals' participation or non-participation in rituals they deem satisfying or appropriate. The study therefore aims to demonstrate the association between attitudes, as measured by the 'Big Five' personality questionnaire, and cultural enthusiasm (the motivation to participate in cultural activities), as constructed from the CIS 3149 survey. The results of the analysis reveal a correlation with attitudes (the five personality factors) and demonstrate that individuals can be categorised into three groups with respect to cultural consumption. These groups are constructed using cluster analysis and are influenced by demographic factors as well as attitudes towards culture, which explains the propensity to participate or abstain from the interactive rituals offered by culture.
The following article approaches the psychological crisis among young people based on the hypothesis that there is an imbalance between adverse experiences and non-therapeutic coping resources generated by the individualization of social trust. Methodologically supported by six focus groups conducted with adolescents in Chile and analyzed using text mining and structural discourse analysis. It can be observed how social trust is an extremely significant attribute for young people, which is granted to specific individuals and must undergo a process of intersubjective elaboration based on the progressive recurrence of interactions, the punitive restraint of the other, and confidentiality on the matter. This situation diminishes or nullifies the capacity of others to provide relief in the social context of adolescents, making access to therapeutic health systems necessary, a situation that will generate a deficit in the health system, in addition to establishing an inequality between those who can access timely care, those without timely access, and those without access.
