This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of research on corruption in subsidy systems (1990–2024). Using WoS data and the Biblioshiny package in R, it maps publication trends and citation patterns. It also identifies core journals and collaboration networks in the field. The study adds a new perspective by examining geographical publishing disparities and thematic coverage. Results show a sharp rise in publications after 2010. Research is mainly concentrated in economics, political science and environmental studies. The US, China, and several EU countries dominate scholarly output. Keyword co-occurrence reveals clusters on governance/performance, energy/environmental subsidies, and agricultural policy. The paper highlights research gaps and proposes future directions to improve accountability in subsidy policy.
Raising a child with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) represents a long-term and complex burden for families, significantly affecting parental mental health, family functioning, and daily parent–child interactions. The aim of this review article is to summarize current research findings on the family environment of children with ADHD, with a particular focus on parenting stress, parental mental health, and quality of life. The paper draws on recent quantitative and qualitative studies conducted across diverse cultural contexts and examines both risk and protective factors related to parents and the broader social environment. Special attention is paid to gender differences in caregiving burden, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the role of socioeconomic conditions. Furthermore, the article reviews intervention approaches targeting parents and families, including mindfulness-based programs, art therapy, family- and narrative-based interventions, group programs, and telehealth modalities. The reviewed evidence consistently indicates that targeted parental support is a crucial component of effective ADHD care and should be an integral part of multidisciplinary intervention strategies.
The paper investigates the functional role of inbound tour operators in the urban and rural tourism development of Sarajevo Canton by analyzing relevant parameters such as their business dynamics and collaboration with stakeholders, products, the typology of tourists and stays, and the promotion and sustainability of the offerings. A survey and interviews were conducted with five inbound tour operators situated in the most prominent zone (Old Town with Baščaršija). The findings indicated a strong impact of the inbound tour operators on tourism spatial development, as they are pivotal in fostering stakeholders' collaboration and in marketing and selling local authentic products to international tourists. Their endeavors contribute to creating unforgettable tourist experiences in Sarajevo, particularly concerning city and dark tours, ecotourism, and crafts. Tourist products are disseminated through WOM, international fairs, and online platforms, targeting markets in the EU, the USA, and Canada. This approach enhances international cooperation and promotes the destination's tourism. Inbound tour operators exhibit a positive business trend, although there are notable disparities in the level of collaboration with stakeholders and the focus of policies. Certain areas of action have been overlooked, such as strategies to position Sarajevo as a primary choice and final destination, identifying new potential markets, and adopting a more analytical approach to tourist typologies for more tailored tourism offerings. The paper highlights the current features and challenges of the destination's tourism development, providing practical solutions for inbound tour operators and recommendations for redesign.
This pilot study developed and evaluated a six-week acceptance and commitment therapy–based intervention with an emphasized mindfulness component. Four university students participated in the intervention, and four served as a control group. Psychological vulnerability, operationalized as risk work-related patterns, and perceived stress were assessed before and after the intervention. In the intervention group, two participants showed a shift toward more adaptive work-related patterns, and stress levels decreased in two participants, whereas no pattern changes and increased stress were observed in two cases in the control group. Participants in the intervention group also reported satisfaction with the intervention and perceived subjective benefits. These preliminary findings indicate potential effectiveness and support further evaluation.
Due to the pandemic situation, many educational institutions are forced to supplement traditional teaching with online activities. The choice of appropriate technical tools, whether in the form of LMS (e.g. Moodle) or communication platforms with the possibility of sharing learning materials (e.g. MS Teams), is largely up to the choice of the respective educational institution. The latter often faces a difficult choice, as the range of such applications and systems on the market is wide and it is not easy to find the most suitable tool to suit all needs. Apart from the technological aspects of each platform, which are described and compared in the paper, the attitudes and opinions of the learners who use these online tools and platforms play an important role. Thus, the present study is also concerned with the attitudes of university students towards online learning as one of the modern forms of education in their undergraduate studies and presents the course and some selected results of a research investigation conducted between 20018 and 2022, where the main objective was to determine the preferences and opinions of students on the form, organization and individual tools or elements of online education. Thus, the present study is a contribution to the discussion on the possibilities and limits of using online education in undergraduate or lifelong learning built on the use of modern information and communication technologies.
The concept of Industry 4.0 was formalized in Germany in 2011. It encompasses comprehensive changes in digital production, network communication, information technology, automation, and other areas of business activity. The process of technological transformation is not limited to the manufacturing sector, but is gradually spreading to public administration and non-governmental organizations. The aim of this article is to present the results of empirical research conducted among 68 representatives of local government and 44 representatives of non-governmental organizations from south-eastern Poland. The results obtained allow us to determine the level of knowledge and awareness of representatives of local government units and non-governmental organizations with regard to the technological transformation processes taking place within the Industry 4.0 concept.
This study examines technostress among Czech university students and identifies groups that may be more vulnerable to technology-related strain. A sample of 420 students completed the six-dimension Technostress Scale. Inferential analyses revealed significant differences across several demographic and academic factors. Older students reported higher Work–Home Conflict as well as greater Techno-Reliability and Techno-Sociality, while women showed higher Techno-Overload than men. Psychology students reported higher Techno-Reliability and Techno-Sociality compared with several other fields, and part-time students reported lower Techno-Reliability than full-time students. Overall, the findings indicate that technostress varies meaningfully across student subgroups and should be considered when developing support for students’ digital well-being.
This paper focuses on analyzing the potential for decontamination following a terrorist attack on the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. The assessment of current decontamination procedures was conducted using qualitative research methods, specifically through interviews with professionally qualified personnel. The interviews were carried out at the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant and involved selected staff from the Radiation Protection Department and members of the plant’s Fire and Rescue Service. This paper focuses on terrorist attacks targeting energy infrastructure. Energy infrastructure is much more important nowadays than in the past. Terrorist attacks on this infrastructure could have enormous consequences for a large number of people, their activities, and, of course, the impact on the environment. The threat of terrorist attacks is growing worldwide. In the modern world, it is imperative to concentrate on protecting energy infrastructure against terrorist attacks. The regular supply of energy at affordable prices with environmental protection is an important activity of states and their security forces.

Project-based learning (PBL) plays a crucial role in environmental education, as it allows students to engage actively with sustainability challenges. The aim of this study is to evaluate the attitudes of students at a selected upper secondary school towards participation in project-based learning focused on environmental topics. The quantitative research was conducted in one selected secondary school in South Bohemia. A total of 168 students participated in the survey. Overall, the results indicate a generally positive attitude among the surveyed students towards environmental topics in education, as well as towards PBL focused on environmental issues. However, hypothesis testing showed that students’ willingness to participate in such targeted PBL was not significantly influenced by selected socio-demographic variables or by the level of environmental knowledge acquired through formal education.
The primary objective of this article is to assess the impact of increased investments in the circular economy on municipal waste generation and recycling rates in the EU27 countries. The article is structured into two main sections. The first section explores the historical development and theoretical foundations of the circular economy with a particular focus on the role of private investments in this advancement. The second section presents the findings of an empirical analysis. In the introduction, this study examines the trends in key statistical indicators of the circular economy, specifically highlighting private investments in the circular economy, the municipal waste recycling rate and the generation of municipal waste. The second section investigates the relationship between private investments in the circular economy and the recycling rate of municipal waste as well as the relationship between these investments and municipal waste generation in the EU27 countries. The analysis covers the period from 2012 to 2020, chosen to ensure a balanced dataset. The study employs fixed effects model and a random effects model for panel data analysis. The findings reveal a statistically significant positive impact of private investments in the circular economy on the recycling rate of municipal waste. Differences were observed between groups of countries based on their annual investment growth rates. However, the anticipated effect of increased investments in the circular economy on reducing municipal waste generation was not confirmed. The data for empirical analysis was sourced from Eurostat, and calculations performed using the Gretl software.
The paper's essence is to assess and evaluate the perceived changes (differences) in the managers' approach to risks in management systems (QMS, OSHMS, EMS) and changes in the investment of funds for the implementation of preventive measures to reduce risks before and after crises (e.g. Covid-19 pandemic, energy crisis) in small, medium and large industrial enterprises in Slovakia. The research carried out consisted of two surveys in 2020 and 2022 using online inquiry. The sample of respondents consisted of a total of 662 industrial enterprises operating in Slovakia. The presented results have an added value as a best practice for owners, top managers and responsible quality managers, OSH managers, and environmental managers of industrial enterprises.
This paper focuses on the current development of the Czech prison system, which feels the strain from prison overcrowding, the need to improve resocialization programmes, and to lower penological recidivism. The paper places particular emphasis on the growing share of women serving prison sentences. An additional area of discussion highlights the need for economic sustainability of the prison system. Said proposals could improve the financial circumstances of the prison system and raise the chances of successful prisoner reintegration into society, precisely because of the employment rate. This paper aims to illustrate the significance of the restorative approach in justice (in contrast to the retributive approach) in combination with economic effectiveness that it can assist in ensuring a stable prison system.
The purpose of the article is to demonstrate the game strategies of Viktor Pelevin, one of the most prominent representatives of modern Russian literature, using the example of the short story “Sigmund in the café”. In comparison with the stories of T. Tostaya or L. Petrushevskaya, Pelevin’s game poetics is more postmodern, it excludes the moral perspective of the narrative, but exposes the principles of playing with the reader, involving him in a postmodern text. The author appeals to the knowledge of modern man about the theory of Sigmund Freud and on this basis enters into a creative game. The “deception” of the reader who believes in the realization of Freudian ideas turns into a talented practical joke.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the comparability of the leading tactics and strategies of a group of Moscow conceptualists in the field of painting and literature. The attention of researchers is directed to the consideration of the artistic moves of the leader and ideologist of the Moscow conceptual circle Ilya Kabakov in his installation “Communal Kitchen” and the ways of their reception in the literary work of Vladimir Sorokin, in particular in his first conceptual novel “Queue”. It is shown that the object of application of conceptualist strategies — pictorial in Kabakov and verbal in Sorokin — is the Soviet communal reality, the Soviet world and the Soviet man.
The purpose of the work is to identify the main creative principle of the conceptual poet Dmitry Alexandrovich Prigov, who was a member of the Moscow Romantic conceptualism group in the late 1970s — mid-1980s. The article shows that the main object of Prigov’s poetic searches was Soviet reality and the literature of socialist realism. Using the material of pseudo-Soviet texts, the poet demonstrated that the Soviet man was surrounded by a universal emptiness, that all the ideas and ideals of Soviet life were empty and aimless. It is shown that Prigov totally devastated all the components of the literature of socialist realism — from the idea, composition, plot, imaginative system to the style and language that had lost their individual origin. Prigov typified the Soviet in order to reveal its substantial and aesthetic primitivism.
The purpose of the article is to examine the beginning of the emergence of postmodern trends in Russian literature in the 1960s and 1980s and, using the example of Andrei Bitov’s short story “Penelope”, to show how the traditional theme of love underwent a gradual transformation at the end of the twentieth century. The article shows how the theme of love, which previously served as a condition for revealing the moral and ethical potential of the male protagonist in Russian and world literature, began to lose its distinct real features in postmodern prose and turn into love-mirage, love-illusion. The analysis revealed that Andrey Bitov was one of the first Russian postmodern writers in modern prose who identified and demonstrated new components of the love theme.
The article analyzes the protocanon phase of the Russian novel of education on the material of N. Ognev’s “Diary of Kostya Ryabtsev” and A. Gaidar’s “School”. It is established, firstly, that the genre tradition of the novel of education, represented in these texts, embodies the common universal idea of the socialist realist novel – the education of workers in the spirit of socialist realism. Secondly, the markers of socialist realist consciousness, the carriers of which the main characters become, are: a clearly formed position in relation to the bourgeois class, a heightened sense of justice. Thirdly, A. Gaidar’s and N. Ognev’s heroes have not yet arrived at exceptional positivity: the trajectory of transformation of Kostya Ryabtsev and Boris Gorikov is identical – it is the path from spontaneity to consciousness, obedience to the Party. Finally, unlike the characters of socialist realism, whose direction of character development is characterized by a consistent upward upward movement, the trajectory of personality development of A. Gailar’s and N. Ognev’s heroes is a downward movement up to the point of symbolic death. A. Gaidar’s and N. Ognev’s heroes’ personality trajectory is a downward movement up to the point followed by symbolic death. Only after experiencing it, they start an upward movement, get a new chance to find themselves.
