Traced the desire of star artists from France, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Russia, different generations and with fundamentally different worldview foundations of creativity, in recent decades to include antique motifs in their imaginative programs; moreover, making them the translators of individual artistic expressions reflecting socio-cultural reception. The portrayal of ancient images, on different aesthetic and worldview bases, are present in the experimental works of the modernism, in the postmodernism (which became a reflection of the collapse of the whole picture of the world observed in modern psychology, philosophy, history), are a means of actualization gender issues, the problems of the LDF community, a reflection of glamorous aesthetics, arise in examples of street art and arte-pover, elite and mass culture, etc. For the first time in many centuries, «antique» sculptures appear at city crossroads and squares, bearing signs of the formal vocabulary of new trends. Over the past more than half a century, the individual statements of artists, in an attempt to remain in the field of polemical discourse, in an effort to expand the boundaries of the norm, including the recently approved ones, took place within the framework of large-scale (it is important to be aware) conceptual projects, thematically completely based on the interpretation of the images of Antiquity, which takes place for the first time in the history of exhibition practice. Moreover, these projects sometimes seem to be milestones in the development of contemporary art
This article reveals some aspects of the creative identity and later works of the greatest Krasnoyarsk composer O. Meremkulov. To understand the artistic aspirations and originality of O. Meremkulov’s works, his Symphony Concerto for Cello, Piano, String Orchestra, Percussion and Wind Ensemble (2015) is an illustrative piece of art. The concerto genre was conceived by the composer as a composition showing the essential problems of human existence, preserving the modus of a personal statement «in the first person». This has led to the introduction of epigraphs and programme titles of parts that not only tune the listener in a certain way, but are elements of concept and means of realising the author’s intentions. The musical analysis regarding the main intonational characteristics of all parts of the concerto, their relations, aspects and orientation of the development of musical thematism are correlated with possible interpretations of titles and epigraphs. This made it possible to come to the conclusion about the original programme music of the concerto. It is revealed by a combination of means functioning at various levels, addressing the sensations of different modalities, individual experience, cultural memory, as well as activating associative thinking and figurative representations. Not only part titles and epigraphs work in this respect, but also the author’s remarks introduced into the musical score and audio records with natural sounds during the performance. Programme music is also recognised in the process of thematic transformations that reflect the orientation of the Hero’s emotional experiences clarifying the essence of a certain image or reproducing a chain of events related to a certain plot. It has been suggested that this plot bizarrely refracts in the composer’s mind the real events experienced by him during different periods of life, sprouted into the subjective perception and understanding of artistic images of world culture. In his dialogue with the authors of past centuries, the composer reached a new level of generalisation, thereby capturing his ideas and feelings in an intonational form. This has led to the originality and unique harmony of the Symphony Concerto
The role of music and words in Sufi practice is very high. It is through the musical component and the sounding word that the main attributes of the mystical direction in Islam are given, becoming a powerful sacred instrument in comprehending the truth. Sufism is a philosophical, aesthetic, religious, ethical doctrine and lifestyle. In the past, it had embraced all spheres of social life, influenced, and often determined the creative thinking of poets, musicians, architects, artisans, and other creators. Nowadays Sufism is an active practice of religious life in an unorthodox Islam. It is becoming a source of inspiration for contemporary composers and poets. Many ideas of Sufism were in conflict and opposition with the official line of the orthodox faith. Among these ideas was music, for which the Sufis use the term «sama» (literally «listening»). In Sufism, music as one of the ways to comprehend God, had special power. This study presents the theoretical aspect of the music and poetry influence on the aesthetic side of Sufism. Based on the research of Islamic scholars, and most importantly on the literary, philosophical works of the Sufis, previously not used with scientific intentions; Let us present a picture of the vision and understanding of the musical and aesthetic side of unorthodox Islam. It is also important to rediscover the relationship between the emergence and introduction of the musical aesthetics of Sufism into the modern musical ritual practice of an unorthodox Islam
This publication analyzes the possibilities of using polychromy in the creative practice of Russian sculptors. The emphasis is on highlighting the main criteria for the use of color. Hermeneutical and analytical approaches are used in combination with induction and comparison. In general, formal stylistic analysis prevails in the research methodology. The novelty of the study is due to the low level of study of the work of Russian sculptors and the weak elaboration of the problem of polychromy in the theory of sculpture as a whole. Having briefly demonstrated the experience of using polychromy in sculpture throughout the history of the development of world cultures, the authors, based on the analysis of modern sculptural compositions, draw conclusions about the relevance and diversity of the use of polychromy in domestic sculpture of the twenty-first century. Two functions of using color in sculpture are highlighted, namely: imitation/animation and symbolic/sacred. The characteristics of these functions are considered on the basis of concrete examples, in conclusion, the prospects for the development of polychromy as one of the most expressive compositional techniques of plastics are evaluated
The authors address the problem of the attribution of the chanting cycle «Most Blessed Father», ascribed in science as work of Tsar Ivan the Terrible’s authorship. The study was carried out by means of a comparative textual analysis of sources of the 16th‑17th centuries, the main of which is the Stichirar writtten by outstanding raspevshik (church chant master) Login Shishelov. It contains the cycle «Most Blessed Father Saint Peter», the first stichera of which was attributed by Login to Tsar Ivan the Terrible. The preservation of the tsar’s musical creation by Login Shishelov is one of the most important evidence in favour of the reliability of this attribution. It is established that in 1585 Login was a monk of the Chudov Monastery, located in the Moscow Kremlin, and could have the opportunity to obtain written evidence of the work of Tsar Ivan the Terrible. The authors reveals the history of this manuscript after its introduction into scientific circulation in 1887, pointing out that this study is in fact the first reference to the tsar’s cycle from it after a century of interruption. The researchers also analyse the scientific works of N. S. Seregina, who in the 90s, when the manuscript was considered lost, believed that she had discovered rewritten several times version of the Tsar Ivan the Terrible cycle, but without attributing remark. The authors of the article found out that this version contains the same verbal texts as the Login’s, but is radically different in musical terms. Therefore, the musical content of the nameless cycle, performed by N. S. Seregina, cannot be attributed to the work of the tsar. The authors of the article established that there are two differing musical versions of the single verbal text of the stichera, while the structure of the cycle with attribution to the tsar consists of four chants, and in the nameless masters – of three. The cycle from Login’s manuscript is unique musically, since so far such neumanic record of its text is found only in this single source. The authors conclude that Login Shishelov’s definitely attribution to the tsar’s authorship the musical and hymnographic text of only the first stichera of the cycle inspires confidence. Whether the other three stichera of the cycle are belonging to the tsar’s authorship remains to be seen in the future. The probability of their belonging to the work of the tsar is also great
The introductory article reveals the principles of forming a science direction, dedicated to the theory and history of arts, for the journal of the Siberian Federal University «Humanities & Social Sciences». To analyze the topical problems of regional scientific schools of contemporary Russian art history, several principles were chosen: geographical (when studies are presented by regions where the corresponding scientific schools are developing), historical (in accordance with the problems characteristic of one or another significant era in the history of world and domestic art), conceptual (in accordance with the basic ideas, theories, concepts that are shared by the authors), thematic (uniting scientists dealing with similar art history issues). The main approaches of the authors, the topics of their articles, art history ideas and theories that they develop are presented. At this point the schools of Russian art history are associated with the cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk and Krasnoyarsk
The article is to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Fedor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky; it concerns a musical version of his novel, «The Idiot». The Russian writer’s work has attracted attention of many composers. In 1986 Mieczysław Weinberg completed the eponymous opera. The librettist Aleksandr Medvedev follows the logic of the original story and constructs the musical drama preserving the specific features and versatility of each character, which is also reflected in the music. The image of Parfen Rogozhin reveals the development of his contradictory nature. The character is represented with ensemble and solo scenes. Parfen’s Song from Scene Nine stands out among the solos. The song «Akh, talan li moi, talan» (Oh My Bad Luck) is quoted as its source. The lyrics of the song were first published together with its tune in 1790, in a book edited by N. A. Lvov and I. G. Prach, «Collection of Russian Folk Songs with Their Tunes» (Lvov-Prach Collection). The study has found that there are different versions of the text in the oral tradition. Their variety can be reduced to two types: the bridal song and the jailhouse ballad with its steady archetype of «beauty and the rogue». Each type has a semantic correlation in the context of the opera. The quotation obviously changes in the opera. The librettist has introduced his own lines enhancing the tragic focus of the song. The composer renders them in the tune emphasizing the intonation intrinsic to the genre of lamentation
The article is based on a study aimed to the possibility of applying the fractal concept for the region’s artistic life study and the formation of its professional art education system. There are main features of the application of the fractal concept in this study, its subject is the activity of creative leaders at the initial stage of the formation of the professional art education system in Krasnoyarsk at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries. Historical analysis and historiographic approach for studying the formation of art education makes it possible to determine the key origin points of the regional art school, and due to use of an anthropological approach the role of the individuals in the periphery artistic life reveals, as well as the launch and coordination of self-organizing processes. There were a set of factors which determined the unique appearance of the regional art culture and the features of its educational tradition at the initial stage of the professional art education system formation which were manifested primarily through the activities of creative leaders: M. A. Rutchenko and P. I. Ivanov-Radkevich, who could be called as anthropological fractals. The main directions of their work and artistic and teaching methods made it possible to determine the basic provisions for the development of the culture of the region and important steps towards the historical, geographical and ethnographic self-identification in the culture and art of Krasnoyarsk
The history of addressing of ballet art to literature has lasted for more than one century. However this cooperation increasingly causes discrepant appraisements from both specialists and viewership. They even offer opinions about unnatural character of alliance of ballet and literature as completely heterogeneous phenomena. Literature sources in their softer variant refer to be only a distant primary push for completely self consistent and autonomous choreographer’s creativity. Such affirmations seem to be not enough convincing. Bearing in mind inevitability of organic relations between various phenomena, belonging to one and the same cultural sphere, while interacting, each one reproduces definite features of the other. This is all the more characteristic in the situation of intersemiotic translation of the text content into a language common to a phenomenon of another indicative nature. In this case basis of adequate translation is built from common significant patterns characteristic of the both texts. For literature and ballet such patterns are visually entertaining aspects of a work, embodying narrative, conceptual and emotional aspects of the content. They are internally enclosed into the literature text, they are perceived by a choreographer, and they form basis for the creative conception. Specification of a scenic image is an aspect of a complex of actual socio-cultural contexts of the historic epoch, in which the act of transferring of literature into a ballet action takes place
Psalm «Uzrekh mnogo narodu» is the most important in the liturgical and funeral practices of the Doukhobors of Javakheti. Its text, containing nine Evangelical Beatitudes, borrowed from the Orthodox Typicon, conveys the most important Christian values, which observance helps to achieve the Heavenly Kingdom. The features of musical style of the psalm (composition, scale, intonation, rhythmic) are characteristic also of other samples of a genre. The musical stanzas are of considerable length. The composition is characterized by the complexity of the principles of coordination of poetic text and melody. The wide chant of syllables is one of the genre and style features. In the development of the tune, the trichord musical phrase (a-c1-d1) plays a leading role, which varies and repeats many times. The question of the origin of the Dukhobor psalm genre is still open, but its links with Orthodox culture at the level of texts and of principles of inclusion in ritual, at the level of tune with narrative genres of musical folklore are obvious
Professor of the Leningrad State Conservatory composer Feodosy Antonovich Rubtsov (1904-1986) entered the history of Russian musicology as the author of the original concept of the structure of scales of folk songs. The scientist formulated main positions in monographs “Intonation Relations in the Songs of Slavs” (1962) and “The principles of mode construction in Russian Folk Songs” (1964). Comprehension of the concept of “genre”, the definition of genre features of traditional folk songs is a little-known side of Rubtsov’s scientific heritage. The study of archival documents (in particular, the transcripts of the report “Principles for Determining Genres of Folk Songs”, which was made in 1966 at the Leningrad department of the Union of Composers at the scientific conference “Theoretical Problems of Musical Forms and Genres”) shows that the scientist formulated a number of positions that were relevant for the 1960–1970. “Genre” is a genus and species concept, multi-level concept. The main criterion for determining the genre is the function, the stylistic features and the type of form are important too. Rubtsov noted that the genre system of folklore is capable of renewal, and the characteristic property of the genres of musical folklore lies in their ability in a certain context to act as a function of another genre
The paper is devoted to the study of Siberian bibliophile G. V. Yudin’s West-European graphic arts collection, which is owned by the Krasnoyarsk Regional Local Lore Museum. There is an objective need to give additional information on the attribution of auteur, reproductive and book engravings in art and documentary research. The authors address the authorship attribution through art analysis using stylistic and biographical factors. The article also responds to the problem of relevant translation of proper nouns (artists, engravers, printers, publishers) and texts on graphics. The study presents the results of literary translation of engraving texts (legends, book illustrations, caricatures). The translation is based on the knowledge of characters’ language, intentions of the author and reflects the unity of visual artwork and the literary source
The focus of the article is the ballet «Lady Peak» by the modern St. Petersburg composer Gennady Ivanovich Banshchikov, which is an original artistic interpretation of the story of the Russian writer Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin «Queen of Spades». The relevance of the study is that, on the one hand, the composer’s creative heritage has not yet received a comprehensive understanding in musicology, many compositions are waiting for their researcher. On the other hand, the performance of G. Banshchikov presents an original interpretation of the semantic ideas laid down by the genius of the word in the story. The analysis of the ballet revealed the specifics of the author’s reading, which consists in the implementation at all levels of drama of the card atmosphere, the generation of which was Pushkin’s «Queen of Spades». The results of the study make it possible to attribute the ballet of G. Banshchikov to one of the bright artistic peaks in the history of musical and stage incarnations of the story. At the same time, through the prism of the literary source, the composer actualizes serious philosophical topics in «Queen of Spades», integrating into the leading trends in the development of domestic art of the late 20th century
In this article the author examines the peculiarities of the personalities of the Stroganovs, entrepreneurs and patrons of the arts at the example of the Nikita Grigorevich. The main pivotal concepts that existed in the culture of the Late Middle Ages are determined, the channels of their transmission in society are indicated. To understand the factors that influenced his worldview and were reflected in the art of the Late Middle Ages, the theory of identity was chosen, which determines the involvement of a person in certain areas of culture at universal, national and regional level. This phenomenon is realized through the adoption of fundamental values characteristic of society. The translators of these values and cultural codes in Russia during the late Middle Ages were the church, chronicles and books, public and family institutions and art. The latter is able to convey semantic concepts through a system of images and symbols filled with emotions and forming a person’s involvement with the themes and ideas of the works. The author describes the influence of the fundamental ideas of that time on the formation N. G. Stroganov’s spiritual world. It’s identified cultural codes that shape the personality of entrepreneur and found their manifestation in the art he revered
The article analyzes student sport, which is a reserve of high-performance sport, on the one hand, and a powerful factor in health preservation and socialization of future specialists and active members of society, on the other hand. The article discusses sports selection and orientation in the context of sportization of orientation of university physical education towards preservation of students’ health, creation of health-forming educational space to ensure the development of health-forming values that result in the improvement of students’ health and physical condition. The aim of the study is to develop, apply and evaluate the effectiveness of the integrated technology of students’ sports selection and orientation towards university physical education specializations tailored to students’ individual characteristics. The general scientific research methodology is presented by a systematic approach to determining a person’s individual characteristics in the unity and interrelation of biological, social and psychological components, their influence on choice and success in certain activities, and their impact on health. Methods of scientific analysis, observation, experiment, empirical methods of psychological diagnostics, psychophysiological methods, statistical and mathematical methods were used. The study was conducted from January, 2016 to September, 2020. It involved 327 people: athletes from the DYUSSHOR (children and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve) of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, adult athletes, and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students of the schools of Siberian Federal University from educational specializations in basketball, aerobics, and rock climbing. The proposed methods of selection and orientation towards specializations in physical education can be applied in universities regarding the practice of student sport as a reserve of high-performance sport and mass student sport. The proposed methods of orientation of students towards physical education specializations tailored to their individual characteristics can be applied in the system of higher physical education and in physical education classes at universities. When assessing the conformity of the athlete’s data to the chosen sport, which is a mathematical algorithm for assessing the conformity of professionally significant qualities to those required in the chosen sport, the obtained data on the athletes’ conformity ranged from 70% to 93%. These data confirm the previously obtained data on the prevailing tendencies in the severity of the typological characteristics of the nervous system properties in athletes doing different sports, as well as the correspondence of the typological complex of the nervous system of those under the study with the athletes’ morphological and functional characteristics required in elite sports. As a result of the study, the established correspondence of these students to the chosen specializations ranges from 48% (rock climbing, 1st year female students) to 87% (female students, basketball). The following motives can be considered the most significant for the group of students under the study: health preservation, social sphere, and physical perfection. The use of modern methods of orientation and selection in the context of the sportization of physical education will contribute to solving the problems that the staff of the Department of Physical Education face in helping the students to choose the type of physical activity (the student’s orientation towards mass student sport, health-improving physical education), as well as a specific sport
The importance of evaluating the physical fitness of future police officers cannot be underestimated. Ideal physical training program must include targeting aerobic capacity, anaerobic power, muscular strength and endurance. The aim of the study: investigate the impact of two additional supervised 16-week physical fitness training programs (mixed (jumping + strength endurance) workout and CrossFit training) aimed at female police cadets. Participants: relatively healthy young female (n=28) – cadets had similar indicators of physical fitness and workability. Total time of physical training – 64 hours during 16 weeks (basic workouts – 48 hours, additional workouts – 16 hours). Group 1 (n=14) practiced additional CrossFit training. Group 2 (n=14) practiced mixed additional workout (jumping + strength endurance). Tests used to evaluate the physical fitness and workability were the following: Push–Up test, Plank test, Running test, Burpee test, Step test (PWC170), test with 30 throws. The overall positive dynamics of study results shows an increase of workability for all study participants. A reliable (p≤0.05) advantage of participants (group 2) in testing workability results (Burpee test and PWC170) was found. Experts agree that the most effective physical training programs for cadets and police officers will be combinations of intensive cardiorespiratory and strength workout. A positive impact of additional mixed (jumping + strength endurance) workout on the workability of female cadets was found. Such functional workout can be an effective alternative to CrossFit training in physical training curriculum of female police cadets
Modern linguistic research is characterized by a quick reaction to the world events, a response to the challenges of our time in various spheres of public life, a tendency to find an explanation for new linguistic and social phenomena through the cultural and historical perspective. On the one hand, this trend stimulates interest in regional studies, whose topical issues are related to translation of values in constructing the image of the region, revealing of cultural information on the material of local toponyms, solving the problems of contextually determined bilingualism and language policy in the regions with indigenous population. On the other hand, interest in the study of other cultures does not decline and still has vast scientific potential due to the possibility of a more detailed immersion in the peculiarities of cross-cultural communication and the use of new methodological tools for its study. Modern technologies make it possible to use the resources of the Web networks for solving research problems, thereby expanding and enriching the spheres of discourse interaction
Languages reveal different value systems represented in linguistic signs. Linguistic signs are full of hidden meanings and implications that need paying attention to in the process of translation into another culture. While interpreting intangible cultural heritage one should consider the differences in the value systems. The article deals with the representation of the regional culture of Siberia in the space of the English language. It is stated that values can be studied via interpreting axiological statements with metaphors and comparative constructions, similes and epithets referring to the toponyms and ethnonyms under study. Such contexts demonstrate the results of axiological interpretation of linguistic units and reveal attitudinal meanings and stereotypes. The authors identify a number of characteristics inherent to the stereotypical image of Siberia in English
The tangible and intangible legacy of the World Universiades is a debatable topic in the science literature of the world. The Universiade-2019 has become a powerful stimulus for the development of sports education, science, mass and elite student sports at Siberian Federal University (SibFU). In the field of physical culture and sports SibFU has implemented new educational programs, held international scientific conferences, carried out major scientific projects, and built a new infrastructure. The number of students involved in physical culture and sports on a regular basis has increased. Since 2012, SibFU students began to win medals at all major international student competitions, such as the European and World Championships, European Universities Games and the Universiade. For example, according to the results of the Universiade-2019, SibFU took second place among all universities in the world in terms of the number of medals won. It is concluded that the Universiadecan contribute not only to the traditional national, cultural and sports goals, but also to the development of university sports in cities hosting mega-events. An effective way to implement this idea may be to include universities in the Universiade organizing committees. The experience of SibFU in the preparation and holding of the Universiade-2019 can be recommended for replication and successful holding of future Universiades or other international student sports events
This article proposes an expert vision of the problems of applying CLIL training in the context of distance education in schools and universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The relevance of the study is due to the lack of scientific research devoted to the subject analysis of the integration of CLIL learning and distance learning technologies and related problems. Diagnostics of the existing problems was carried out through an online survey of school teachers and university professors who have experience in using CLIL technology in distance learning. For example, the results of the survey have made it possible to identify an expert opinion on the compatibility of the two teaching technologies, to formulate the main problems and differentiate them in terms of school and university practice. Moreover, the analysis has established relationship problems identified with the history of the modernization of secondary and higher education, and pandemic circumstances of 2020. This also explains different level of CLIL preparedness of school teachers and university professors for the independent development of electronic content, the search for a finished educational product, and the use of educational platforms. In this context, the need for CLIL modern teachers’ training programs and effective mechanisms for their academic support is indicated. Based on the survey results, it was concluded that CLIL distance learning is viable in school and university practice. The integration of the two technologies creates an effective tool to promote the empowerment of CLIL, the development of a virtual learning environment, andemergence of a distance format of students’academic mobility. These results can be significant as a basis for making tactical decisions on the development of the resource and methodological base of CLIL distance learning in the system of secondary and higher education
