1A9 Hut at the Early Bronze Age Settlement of Mursia, Pantelleria (TP): an Example of Interpretative Reconstruction of Space Use
    Rossella Veneziano

2The Settlement of or Murales-Urzulei (NU): Study of Ceramics Findings
    Rossana Conti

The settlement of Or Murales, situated about 800 m above sea level in the Supramonte di Urzulei (Nuoro) near the Codula 'e Ilune stream, is located near a road that led from the coast (about 7 km away) to the inland. It consists of circular or sub-circular structures grouped into at least three blocks close to each other. The total extent of the settlement is still unclear due to the thick vegetation that covers many of the structures, either partially or completely. The study of ceramic materials has made it possible to date the archaeological complex to the Late Bronze Age, also revealing some peculiarities relating to ceramic production that could constitute regional characteristics of the protohistoric communities living above the mountains. The publication of results of the study may be a starting point for understanding the settlement dynamics of protohistoric communities in Supramonte, a rugged and sometimes inhospitable territory, but one that has been of great importance since ancient times due to its geographical location.

    3Nuragic Walls of North-West Sardinia
    Paolo Melis

Several Nuragic sites in Anglona (northwestern Sardinia) are presented, characterized by settlements on difficult-to-access hills, fortified with sections of walls built according to the standard Nuragic technique in regular rows. It is suggested that they derive from Copper Age megalithic walls (common in Anglona) and that they are older than the classical nuraghe.

    4Introduction to the Workshop
    Maurizio Cattani

The workshop, which took place on October 7, 2024, at the Department of History and Culture of the University of Bologna, examined the theme of so-called megalithic walls. This subject falls within the broader context of the monumental structures that characterized late prehistory in Europe, with Sardinia offering the best-known examples of Nuragic constructions, proto-Nuraghi and Nuraghi, dating back to the 2nd millennium BC. The day's program provided an update on the state of knowledge and at the same time addressed the epistemological and methodological aspects to be applied to research, starting with the terminology to be assigned to the little-known and complex protohistoric walls.

5The Use of Raw Earth in Nuragic Constructions
    Daniele Carta
