Considering insulation materials of the existing building's exterior wall system based on the practical working experience,fire risks of the insulation system and the factors influencing fire safety coefficient are analyzed.Some details of constructions to improve the performance of insulation systems are presented,including the fire barrier,the block firewall,the fire sub-compartment,full bonding practices,increasing the protective layer thickness.The fire rating and the trends of development are proposed.

As the area of fire compartment of public hall was too large in Shandong-Taiwan Economic and Trade Exhibition Centre,quasi-safety zone design was proposed.By setting of fire scenarios,people evacuation,fire spread and fire protection for steel structure were analyzed.The results showed that quasi-safety zone design can be used for people passing by,as a way of buffer evacuation.
