Objective: By comparing the adjusting action of electro-acupuncture(EA) on Zusanli(ST36) and Tianshu(ST25) to high sensitivity of the irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) model rats of viscera, to discuss the dif erent targets of the two points as well as the specii c law of the points ef ect. Methods: The IBS animal model was established by acetic acid retentionenema method. The model rats were divided into 3 groups: model group, EA ST36 group and EA ST25 group, both 20 munites for 7 times each two days. To observe the inl uence of EA on high sensitivity of model rats of viscera and test the change of NPY content in their spinal cord and brain tissue and bowels tissue of each group. Results: Compared with the model group, EA on ST36 could remarkably improve the capacity threshold value of abdomen raising and back hunching up of rats(P0.05); and also could remarkably increase NPY content(P0.05) in thalamus. EA on ST25 could increase NPY content in bowel tissue(P0.05). Conclusion: ST36 could directly restrain the visceral high sensitivity of model rats, and adjust the NPY content in thalamus of rats. But ST25 with low sensitivity, it just had the local adjusting ef ect on the brain-gut peptide. It was concluded that the change of NPY content in thalamus might be the key adjusting element in producing dif erence ef ects between the two points.
Objective:Comparison of the adjusting action of electro-acupuncture on Guanyuan(RN 4) and Dachangshu(BL 25) points to high sensitivity of IBS model rats of viscera,to discuss the mechanism of the acu-points.Methods:The IBS model of animals were made by acetic acid retention-enema method,and then divided into model group,EA RN 4 group and EA BL 25 group.Observation of the influence of electro-acupuncture to high sensitivity of model rats of viscera and testing the changes of NPY content in their spinal cord and brain tissue and bowels tissue of each group.Results:①Compared with the model group,electro-needling on RN 4 point and BL 25 point can remarkably improved the capacity threshold value of abdomen raising of rats(P0.05),electro-needling on RN 4 point can remarkably improved capacity threshold value of back hunching up of rats(P0.05).②Compared with model group,electro-needling on RN 4 point could remarkably increase NPY content in thalamus(P0.01),the content of NPY electro-needling BL 25 point increased significantly in the spinal cord(P0.05).Conclusion:RN 4 and BL 25 point are located at the same nerve segment in spinal cord,but RN 4 has a better effect of restraining the high sensitivity of viscera of IBS model rats than BL 25 point.It is conjectured that RN 4 point not only has local adjusting effect as same as BL 25 point,but also has adjusting effect for the disorder of brain-gut axis.
Objective Clinical observations show that electro-acupuncture has significant effects on stress-induced psychological disorders.This study aims to investigate the effects of electro-acupuncture at different acupoints on restraint stress-induced behavioral changes,and discuss the psychological and behavioral changes caused by immunity disorders and the regulatory effect of electro-acupuncture for these problems.Methods Fifty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups(normal,model,Baihui,Guanyuan and Zusanli) of equal number.Apart from those of the normal group,all the other rats were tied into cloth bags for 30 min a day for 20 d to make the restraint stress model.From the 2nd day after modeling,the rats of treatment groups underwent electro-acupuncture for 20 min,once every other day,for 10 times.All the rats were placed in the elevated plus-maze(EPM) for detection of the changes in the number of entries into the open arms(OE) and residence time in the open arms(OT) of EPM before and after modeling,and after the 5th and 10th treatment.Results Compared with the normal rats,the rats of the Baihui group showed significantly decreased OT,while those of the Zusanli group markedly increased number of OEs after the 10th treatment and reduced OT after the 5th(P<0.01).In comparison with those of the model group,the number of OEs was significantly increased in the Baihui group(P<0.05) but decreased in the Guanyuan group after the 5th treatment,and both OT and OEs remarkably increased in the Zusanli group after the 10th treatment(P<0.01).The number of OEs was significantly higher in the Guanyuan group after the 10th treatment(P<0.05),and so were OT and OEs in the Zusanli group(P<0.01) than after the 5th.Compared with the Baihui group,both the Guanyuan and Zusanli groups exhibited changes in OEs and OT,but with no significant differences(P>0.05).Conclusion Electro-acupuncture has some antidepressant and anxiolytic effects by improving emotional and behavioral changes induced by restraint stress.Its antianxiety effect varies at Baihui,Guanyuan and Zusanli,even more obvious at Baihui in the early period of stress,but much more stable and longer at Guanyuan and Zusanli.
Objective: To observe the influence of moxibustion at different acupoints on behavioral changes caused by restraint stress and further discussion on regulation rule of moxibustion for psychological and behavioral changes caused by restraint stress.Meth-ods: According to the principle of stratified randomization the 35 male Wistar rats were divided into the normal group,the model group,Baihui group,Guanyuan group and Zusanli group,7 rats in each group.Except the normal group,the rest groups were tied by self-made bags for 30min each day,totally lasting 20 days to make the restraint stress model.From the 2nd day after model made,the treatment groups were treated by moxibustion for 3 cones on each acupoint,once every other day,a total of 10 times.All groups were respectively tested into the elevated plus-maze to detect the changes of the proportion of the number of entry into the elevated plus-maze open arms(OE%) and that of Residence time at the open arms(OT%) at four time points,including before and after modeling,after the 5th treatment and 10th treatment.Results: Compared with that in the groups before modeling,the OE % of the rats in Baihui group decre-ased significantly after modeling、after the 10th treatment and the OT% of the rats in Baihui group increased significantly after the 5th treatment(P0.05),after modeling the OT % of the rats in Guanyuan group decreased significantly(P0.05),after modeling the OE% and OT % of the rats,after the 10th treatment the OE % of the rats in Zusanli group all decreased significantly(P0.05,P0.05,P0.01);Compared with that in the groups after modeling,after the 5th treatment the OE% and OT% of the rats in Baihui group both increased significantly(P 0.05),after the 10th treatment the OT % of the rats in Guanyuan group increased significantly(P0.01),the OE% of the rats in Zusanli group after the 5th treatment and the OT % of the rats in Zusanli group after the 10th treatment both increased significantly(P0.01,P0.05);Compared with that in the groups after the 5th treatment,The OE % of rats in Baihui group and Zusanli group both decreased significantly after the 10th treatment(P0.05),the OE% and OT% of rats in Guanyuan group increased significantly after the 10th treatment(P0.05).Compared to that in Baihui group,the OE % and OT % of the rats in Guanyuan and Zusanli group had different changes,but no significant difference(P0.05).Conclusions: Moxibustion at different acupoints could improve anxiety and changes in emotion and behavior induced by restraint stress;Guanyuan,Baihui and Zusanli all having some anxiolytic effect,Baihui having better effect in the early period of stress,Zusanli having a reliable effect,but Guanyuan having a much more stable and obvious effect after long-term treatment,which had relative specificity.
Objective: To investigate the effect of early intervention of the 'Xingnao Kaiqiao' acupuncture on the SOD activity and MDA content of the ischemic brain tissues and blood serum at acute period in rats with cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.Methods: The male adult SD rats were randomly divided into the sham operation group,the model group,the acupuncture group,the medicine control group.The right side cerebral middle artery of rats was blocked by thread to establish the model of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion.After the model was successfully made for three hours,the acupuncture group was given 'Xingnao Kaiqiao' acupuncture treatment.After the model was successfully made for five hours,the drug group was intraperitoneally injected with Xiangdan injection.Two hours later after the treatment,SOD activity and MDA content was tested in the serum and brain tissue.Results: The acupuncture could increase the SOD activity and decrease MDA content in the the serum and brain tissue of the model group,which had no significant difference.Conclusion: The early intervention of Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture has a regulatory role on SOD,MDA,so we suggest that acupuncture has protective effect on the cerebral ischemia-reperfusion of model rats which could be achieved by increasing SOD activity,inhibiting partial lipid peroxidation response in brain tissue and reducing brain tissue damage caused by oxygen free radical.
Objective:To observe effects of EA Tianshu point,Zusanli point on the irritable bowel syndrome rat models to discuss a part of the mechanism of IBS's acu-puncture treatment.Method:To divide the young VISTAR rats into normal group,model group,Tianshu group and Zusanli group,six per group.The Tianshu group and Zusanli group were started to be given EA in the 6th week,once two days,a total of seven times.Model group was bounded but not given EA.The normal group was done nothing.To use XW-B-3 cold lightmicro-circulation tester to observe the rats' state of caps and blood flow of mesentery microcirculation in each group and different time period.Results:(1)The estimate of the visceral sensitivity:compared with the normal group,the value of the model group rats' belly raising and back hunch-up significantly reduced(P<0.01).Compared with the model group,the value of the EA Tianshu and Zusanli group rats' belly raising and back hunch-up significantly increased(P<0.01).(2)Test of the mesentery microcirculation:①The diameter of the blood vessel:compared with the normal group,the diameter of the mesentery micro-vessels of the model group significantly narrowed(P<0.05);Compared to the model group,the diameter of the mesentery micro-vessels of the EA Tianshu group and Zusanli group significantly expanded(P<0.05 or P<0.01).②The state of the blood flow:compared with the normal group,the model group's blood flow speed of mesentery micro-vessels significantly reduced or stopped(P<0.01).Conclusion:EA Tianshu,Zusanli can significantly increase the value of the visceral sensitivity threshold of the IBS rats and reduce the visceral sensitivity;it can also significantly improve the blood state of the mesentery microcirculation and remove spasm to relieve the lack of blood and oxygen in the intestinal mucosa.As a result,it has the therapeutic effect of pain relief.
Objective: By comparing the influence of electro-acupuncture on four points which were S36,Ren4,B25,S25 to visceral hypersensitivity model in rats,studying the specific law of the point effect.Method: Establish IBS model of animals by acetic acid retention-enema method,then model rats were divided into model group and control group,observed the influence of electro-acupuncture to visceral hypersensitivity rats.Result: Comparing with model group,electro-needling on S36,Ren4 B25 points could improve capacity threshold value of abdomen raising of rats(P0.05),electro-needling on S36 Ren4 could improve capacity threshold value of back hunching up of rats(P0.05).Conclusion: Electro-acupuncture S36,Ren4 points can specially adjusting high sensitivity of viscera in IBS model rats.
