阈下抑郁是介于健康人群及抑郁症之间的一种轻微的抑郁状态,西医并未视阈下抑郁为病,而中医将阈下抑郁归于"郁证"范畴,积极采取《黄帝内经》"治未病"的思想,运用脐针这一操作简便、绿色无痛、奇用奇效的特色针法,从易医理论及脐全息理论出发,结合探究阈下抑郁与心神、脑肠轴与腹脑、脾胃系统等密切的关联性,分析阈下抑郁人群最常见证型——肝郁脾虚型的病因病机,认为其与阳气不足或郁遏、心神失养、肝脾不和、心肾不交等密切相关,并针对其发病特点,在易医脐针后天八卦图的五行生克制化理论指导下,结合易医脐针思想的理论和优势,提出脐针干预肝郁脾虚型阈下抑郁人群的思路和方法,为后期研究提供理论与实践可行性的依据.
目的:观察比较电针印堂与大肠俞穴对肠易激综合征(IBS)大鼠结肠动力的影响,探讨其相关机制.方法:40只Wistar新生大鼠随机分为空白组、模型组、印堂组和大肠俞组.应用母子分离、醋酸灌肠和结直肠扩张法联合制备IBS大鼠模型.印堂组和大肠俞组分别予电针相应穴位干预,20min/次,隔日1次,共5次.记录Bristol粪便评分,腹部回撤反射(AWR)的潜伏期、90s内收缩波个数、峰峰值,免疫组化法检测迷走神经背核(DMV)和结肠肌层多巴胺D2受体(D2R)的表达.结果:与空白组比较,模型组Bristol评分显著升高、AWR的潜伏期显著缩短、收缩波个数显著增多、峰峰值显著上升、DMV和结肠肌层D2R阳性表达显著降低(P<0.01);与模型组比较,印堂组、大肠俞组的Bristol评分均显著下降(P<0.05,P<0.01),DMV及结肠肌层中D2R阳性表达显著升高(P<0.01,P<0.05);大肠俞组潜伏期显著上升,收缩波个数和峰峰值均显著降低(P<0.01),且大肠俞组优于印堂穴组(P<0.01,P<0.05).结论:电针印堂与大肠俞穴均可缓解IBS模型大鼠腹泻症状,但电针大肠俞穴作用更强,证实了经穴效应特异性存在且具有相对性.
目的 观察电针不同穴位对肠易激综合征(IBS)大鼠身心症状及前扣带回皮层(ACC)中NMDA受体表达的影响,探讨不同穴位对IBS的疗效差异及其相关机制.方法 新生Wistar大鼠分为空白对照组、模型对照组、印堂组和大椎组,每组10只.除空白对照组外,均制备IBS模型.2月龄时,两电针组给予电针刺激,每次20 min,隔日1次,共5次.治疗结束后,采用腹部回撤反射(AWR)评估肠道敏感性;旷场试验(OFT)评估大鼠的精神行为;实时荧光定量PCR检测ACC中NMDA受体(NR1、NR2A、NR2B)的表达.结果 与空白对照组比较,模型对照组的潜伏期明显缩短、收缩波个数明显增多(P<0.01),水平和垂直运动次数明显减少(P<0.01),NR1、NR2A、NR2B的表达均增加(P<0.05);与模型对照组比较,印堂组的潜伏期明显延长、收缩波个数减少(P<0.01),水平和垂直运动次数均明显增多(P<0.01),NR1、NR2A、NR2B的表达降低(P<0.05),大椎组的潜伏期延长(P<0.05),NR1、NR2B的表达降低(P<0.05);与印堂组比较,大椎组的收缩波个数明显增多(P<0.01),水平运动次数明显减少(P<0.01).结论 电针“印堂”“大椎”穴均可有效改善IBS模型大鼠的抑郁样精神状态,但电针“印堂”穴的效应更佳,且二者对NR2A的阳性表达亦存在差异.
"按之应手"初见于《灵枢·本输第二》,是指以手指按压穴位表面皮肤,医者感觉有动脉搏动的指下感觉.《黄帝内经》中详细记载了"按之应手"常见的生理、病理表现.生理状态下,人体的常动之脉可以体现经络的气血盛衰;病理状态下,本应平静的穴位因邪气的侵袭出现异常的搏动,指导临床确定有效穴位.因此"按之应手"在临床中是一个非常重要的概念和技术,医者通过体会手下动脉的感觉进行选穴,使穴位位置更加准确,从而实现气至病所,达到良好的治疗效果.
Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) of "Hegu"(LI4) and "Zusanli"(ST36)on changes of intestinal sensitivity and colonic motility and expression of colonic 5-hydroxytryptamine 3 A receptor(5-HT_(3 A)R) in irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) rats, so as to reveal its mechanism underlying improvement of IBS. Methods A total of 40 neonatal Wistar rats were randomly and equally divided into normal control, model, LI4 and ST36 groups(n=10). The IBS model was induced by mother-infant separation, acetic acid enema and colorectal distension(CRD). EA(2 Hz/100 Hz, a tolerable strength) was applied to bilateral LI4 and ST36 for 20 min, once every other day for 5 times. The Bristol stool form scale was used to assess the gastrointestinal function, and the latency and number of abdominal muscular contraction waves of abdominal withdrawal reflex(AWR) were used to evaluate the intestinal sensitivity and motility respectively. The immunoactivity of 5-HT_(3 A)R of the colon tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results After modeling, the score of Bristol fecal form scale, number of muscular contraction waves and expression levels of colonic 5-HT_(3 A)R in the myometrium and mucosal layers were significantly increased(P<0.01), and the latency of muscular initial contraction wave was obviously shortened in the model group relevant to the normal control group(P<0.01). After the intervention, the increased Bristol fecal form score, number of muscular contraction waves and expression levels of 5-HT_(3 A)R in the myometrium and mucosal layers as well as the decreased latency of muscular contraction were reversed in both LI4 and ST36 groups(P<0.01, P<0.05). The effect of EA of ST36 was significantly superior to those of EA-LI4 in lowering Bristol fecal scale score and 5-HT_(3 A)R expression in the muscular layer(P<0.01), but obviously inferior to those of EA-LI4 in increasing the latency of of muscular initial contraction wave and down-regulating muscular contraction waves and 5-HT_(3 A)R expression in the mucosal layer(P<0.05, P<0.01). Conclusion Both EA-LI4 and EA-ST36 can significantly improve the symptoms of abdominal pain and diarrhea, but EA-LI4 is better in suppressing intestinal high sensitivity, and EA-ST36 is better in promoting intestinal motility, suggesting a specificity of effect of acupoints of different meridians.
Objective To observe the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) at different acupoints on the expression of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDA receptor ) and behaviors in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) rats. Methods Wistar rats were randomly divided into blank control group (blank group, n=10) and model preparation group (n=50); experimental rat model of IBS was established by the “neonatal maternal separation and acetic acid enema” combined with “colorectal distension stimulation” method. A total of 50 IBS rats were randomly assigned to five groups of 10 each: model group, Yintang (GV29) group, Neiguan (PC6) group, Tianshu (ST25) group, and Zusanli (ST36) group. Rats in four treatment groups, aged 9 weeks old, were treated with EA by HANS with a sparse-dense wave with a frequency of 2/100 Hz, current of 0.1-0.3mA, and 20 min/stimulation, every other day for a total of 5 sessions. After treatment, the abdominal visceral sensitivity was evaluated by abdominal withdrawal reflex (AWR), and the psychological and emotional behavior of rats were evaluated by the open-field test (OFT). The expression of NMDA receptors in anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) was detected by Quantitative Real-time PCR, and the positive expression of NMDA receptors in colon was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The IBS rat's abdomen is more sensitive and irritable; NR1, NR2A, and NR2B in ACC and NR1 and NR2B in colon of rats significantly increased in the model group versus the normal group (P<0.01) and were inhibited in all treatment groups (P<0.01, P<0.05). Additionally, NR2A and NR2B in ACC reduced more in GV29 group (P<0.01) than in other treatment groups (P all<0.05) compared with the model group. The expression of NR2B in colon was significantly inhibited in ST36 group (P<0.01) and inhibited in GV29 group and ST25 group (P all <0.05) compared with the model group. And the expression of NR2B in colon was more inhibited in ST36 group than in PC6 group (P<0.01). Conclusions EA at different acupoints could obviously relieve abdominal pain and abnormal behaviors in IBS rats in different degrees of effects. The effect of abdominal pain-relief, from greatest to least, is ST25, ST36, GV29, and PC6, while the effect of relieving abnormal behaviors caused by IBS, from greatest to least, is GV29, PC6, ST36, and ST25. There are significant differences in the expressions of NMDA receptors in ACC and colon among different acupoints. This difference should be related to the location distribution and indications of acupoints.

OBJECTIVETo compare the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) at "Dachangshu" (BL 25) or "Tianshu" (ST 25) for visceral sensitivity, gene expression product c-kit of colonic Cajal interstitial cells (ICC) and capsaicin receptor 1 (TRPV1) of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) rats, so as to investigate the effect and mechanism differences of EA at the back shu point and the front mu point of large intestine for IBS rats.METHODSForty-two Wistar neonatal rats were randomly divided into a blank group (9 rats) and a model group (33 rats). IBS model was established with mother and child separation, acetic acid enema in young rats and colorectal dilatation method. Twenty-seven IBS rats in life were randomly divided into a model control group, a Dachangshu group and a Tianshu group, 9 rats in each group. EA (disperse-dense wave, 2 Hz/100 Hz, 0.1-0.3 mA) for 20 min was used at "Dachangshu" (BL 25) and "Tianshu" (ST 25) respectively in the Dachangshu and Tianshu groups, once every other day, totally 5 times. The rats in the model control group were fixed with soft cloth sleeve for 20 min, without acupuncture. No intervention was used in the blank group. The stool property Bristol grading score was recorded before and after intervention in each group. The visceral sensitivity was evaluated by abdominal withdrawal reflex. The latency until the first systolic wave occurred and the number of systolic wave within 90 s were observed. Immunohistochemical was used to detect the positive expressions of c-kit and TRPV1, the ICC colon specific marker.RESULTSCompared with the blank group, the Bristol score increased,latency period shortened, systolic wave number increased, c-kit and TRPV1 positive expressions increased in the model control group (all P<0.01). Compared with the model control group, the Bristol score decreased, latency period increased, systolic wave number decreased, c-kit and TRPV1 positive expressions decreased after intervention in the Dachangshu and Tianshu groups (P<0.05, P<0.01). Compared with the Dachangshu group, the TRPV1 positive expression decreased after intervention in the Tianshu group (P<0.05).CONCLUSIONEA at "Dachangshu" (BL 25) or "Tianshu"(ST 25) can improve the diarrhea in IBS model rats, reduce the visceral sensitivity, and its mechanism may be related to regulating the expressions of colon c-kit and TRPV1. EA at "Tianshu" (ST 25) is more apparent for TRPV1 than at "Dachangshu" (BL 25).
Objective To observe and compare the effects of LI 4 and ST 36 electroacupuncture on co-lonic motility and positive expression of M3 receptor in colon of irritable bowel syndrome ( IBS ) model rats, and to explore the mechanism behind those differences. Methods 40 neonatal Wistar rats were randomly divided into blank control group, model group, LI 4 group, and ST 36 group. IBS rat model was built by using neonatal maternal separation and acetic acid enema, and colorectal distension ( CRD) stimulation in rats except the blank control group. At 9 weeks rats in LI 4 group and ST 36 group were given electroacupuncture( EA ) intervention once every other day for 5 times. Blank group and model group didn' t receive acupuncture intervention. After the treatment, Bristol Stool Scale was applied to i-dentify the feces types of the IBS rats before and after electroacupuncture invention;Abdominal withdraw-al reflex ( AWR) was evaluated to asess the intestinal sensitivities and smooth muscle contraction intensi-ty;and latency, contraction wave and pressure value of initial wave were observed;The expression of M3 receptor was measured using immunohistochemistry. Results Bristol scores of LI 4 group and ST 36 group significantly decreased (P<0. 01). Compared with blank group, the stool score of model group was significantly increased ( P<0 . 01 );the latency was shortened ( P<0 . 01 ); the number of contrac-tion waves was significantly increased (P<0. 01);the immunohistochemical expression of M3 receptor in the colon was significantly increased (P<0. 01). The immunohistochemical expression of M3 receptor in the colon in LI 4 group was increased (P<0. 01). Compared with model group, after electroacupuncture stimulation, the stool score of LI 4 group and ST 36 group was significantly decreased (P<0. 01); the latency was significantly prolonged ( P <0 . 01 ); the number of contraction wave was significantly de-creased in LI 4 group (P<0. 01) and ST 36 group (P<0. 05);immunohistochemical expression of M3 receptor in the colon was significantly decreased (P<0. 01). Compared with the LI 4 group, the stool score in ST 36 group was decreased ( P<0 . 05 );the pressure value of initial wave significantly decreased (P <0. 01); the immunohistochemical expression of M3 receptor in the colon was decreased ( P <0. 05 ) . Conclusion Stimulating LI 4 or ST 36 with electroacupuncturing could both inhibit gastrointesti-nal tract contraction, reduce intestinal sensitivity and relieve IBS symptoms in rats. LI 4 appears to be more effective than ST 36 in relieving abdominal pain, while ST 36 is better than LI 4 to stop diarrhea. Stimulating different acupoints or acupoints on different nerve segments with electro-acupuncture have specific effects on IBS rats.
Objective To observe electroacupuncture Neiguan and Dachangshu acupoint on irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) model rats with visceral sensitivity, psychology behavior and changes of interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) in colon and to investigate the effects of acupuncture on different acupoints treating irritable bowel syndrome difference in the efficacy and mechanism.Methods Wistar rats of IBS model were randomly divided into: blank control group, model control group, EA Neiguan group,EA Dachangshu group (the treatment group). After successful modeling, the treatment group was treated with Electroacupuncture.After the end of treatment with Abdominal withdrawal reflex, evaluation of visceral sensitivity in rats and observe the latency and the contraction wave number; By open field test in rats the psychological, rat horizontal and vertical activity times record; Using immunohistochemical method to detect the colon of c-kit positive expression.Results 1) Evaluation of visceral sensitivity: compared with the blank control group, model control group was shortened, the contraction wave number increased (P<0.05,P<0.01); Compared with the model group, the treatment group prolonged latency of a contraction wave significantly reduced the number (P<0.05, P< 0.01); 2) Open field test: compared with blank control group, model control group, the level of vertical activity and reduce the number of activities (P<0.01,P<0.05); Compared with the model group, the treatment group level number increase (P<0.05), And the effect of EA Neiguan group was better.3) Colon c-kit expression: compared with the blank control group, model group of colon c-kit positive expression was increased (P<0.01); Compared with the model group, the treatment group of colon c-kit positive expression was decreased (P<0.01).Conclusion Electroacupuncture"Neiguan" and "Dachangshu"can reduce the visceral sensitivity of IBS model rats, and can improve the changes of emotional and psychological behavior in rats, which may be related to the regulation of ICC in the colon.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the ethology and expression of transient receptor potential vanilloid-1(TRPV 1) in colon of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) rats treated by electroacupuncture (EA) at "Yintang" (GV 29) and "Tianshu" (ST 25), so as to explore the different effectiveness of different acupoints and its related mechanism underlying improvement of the symptoms of somatopsychic illness. METHODS:Thirty-two neonatal Wistar rats were randomly divided into blank control group, model group, Yintang (GV 29) group, and Tianshu (ST 25) group (n=8 in each group). IBS model was established by neonatal maternal separation and acetic acid enema combined with colon and rectum expansion stimulation. Rats of the GV 29 and ST 25 groups were given EA treatment at age of 9 weeks old, 20 minutes, once every other day for 5 times. Latency of the 1st time contraction wave and numbers of contractive wave in 90 s were recorded to evaluate abdominal visceral sensitivity by abdominal withdrawal reflex. Horizontal and vertical movements were observed to assess the emotional and psychological behavior of rats by open field test. TRPV 1 expression in colon was detected by immunohistochemistry method. RESULTS:Compared with the black control group, latency of the 1st time contractive wave was significantly shortened and the wave numbers in 90 s were increased significantly in the model group (P<0.01), while the numbers of vertical and horizontal movements were also significantly reduced (P<0.01), accompanied with increased TRPV 1 expression in the colon (P<0.05). Compared with the model group, After EA intervention, the levels of the above-mentioned 5 indexes were significantly reversed in the GV 29 and ST 25 groups (P<0.01,P<0.05), except the number of horizontal movement in the ST 25 group (P>0.05). The expression level of TRPV 1 was significantly lower in the ST 25 group than in the GV 29 group (P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:EA at GV 29 and ST 25 can alleviate the abdominal pain and improve the mental and emotional disorders in IBS rats. GV 29 has a better effect on relieving the depressive-like psychoemotional behavior of IBS rats, while ST 25 is more effective in treating abdominal pain. There is significantly different influence on TRPV 1 expression in colon between these two treatment groups, which may contribute to their different effect in pain relieving.
Objective To compare the effects of acupuncture,moxibustion,and acupuncture with moxibustion on patients with functional menstrual disorders.Methods 57 female undergraduates with functional menstrual disorders were eligible and randomly divided into acupuncture group,moxibustion group and acupuncture with moxibustion group.Acupuncture was applied on Baihui (GV 20),and mox-ibustion was applied on Guanyuan (CV 4),for continuous three menstrual cycles.The therapeutic effects were evaluated.Results The total efficiency showed no significant difference among the three groups u-sing exact probability test (P >0.05),with 89% in acupuncture group,84% in moxibustion group,and 95% in acupuncture with moxibustion group.However,the curative rate in acupuncture with moxibustion group was 74%,significantly higher than that in acupuncture group or in moxibustion group using non-parametric test (P =0.0001).And the curative rate in acupuncture with moxibustin group was superior to that in moxibustion group(χ2 =13.5714,P =0.0002).Conclusion The therapeutic effects of appli-cation of acupuncture on Baihui,moxibustion on Guanyuan,and acupuncture on Baihui with moxibustion on Guanyuan were proved.Undoubtedly,the therapeutic effect of acupuncture with moxibustion was bet-ter than that of acupuncture or of moxibustion.
Chinese medicine majored bilingual talents are needed in many aspects of TCM international development such as formulating TCM international standards, spreading TCM diagnosing and treating principles and methods, cleaning up some one-sided understanding of Chinese medicine and acupuncture, etc. Thus it is necessary to strengthen bilingual Chinese medicine courses teaching in colleges and universities of TCM to cultivate inter-disciplinary talents with good background of TCM and foreign language.
OBJECTIVE To explore the effects of pre-acupuncture and immediate acupuncture on kidney function and oxygen free radical metabolism in rats with simulated weightlessness. METHODS Twenty male clean-grade Wister rats were randomly divided into a normal control group, a model group, a pre-acupuncture group and an immediate acupuncture group, 5 rats in each one. The rats in the normal control group did not receive any treatment but free activities for 4 weeks. The rats in the rest groups received 4-week tail suspension to establish the model of simulated weightlessness. One week before the tail suspension, the rats in the pre-acupuncture group were treated with electroacupuncture at "Shenshu" (BL 23), "Pishu" (BL 20) and "Sanyinjiao" (SP 6) for 30 min per treatment, once a day for 7 days. The rats in the immediate acupuncture group received tail suspension and acupuncture at the same time; during the tail suspension, the electroacupuncture was applied at "Shenshu" (BL 23), "Pishu" (BL 20) and "Sanyinjiao" (SP 6) for 30 min per treatment, once every other day for 14 days. The colorimetric method was used to measure the content of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) in serum as well as activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) and content of malonaldehyde (MDA) in renal tissue in each group. RESULTS Compared with the normal control group, the content of BUN in the model group was increased significantly (P<0.01), the activity of SOD and GSH-PX in nephridial tissue was significantly reduced (both P<0.01), and the content of MDA was increased significantly (P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the content of BUN in the pre-acupuncture group and immediate acupuncture group was significantly reduced (P<0.01, P<0.05), the activity of GSH-PX in the pre-acupuncture group was obviously increased (P<0.05) and the content of MDA in the immediate acupuncture group was increased significantly (P<0.01). Compared with the immediate acupuncture group, the content of MDA in the pre-acupuncture group was lower (P<0.01). CONCLUSION The pre-acupuncture and immediate acupuncture both have the capacity to improve the kidney function and anti-oxygen free radical injury in rats with simulated weightlessness, however, the capacity to increase the protection ability of the kidney and eliminate free radical in the pre-acupuncture group is superior to that in the immediate acupuncture group, which is likely to be related with improving antioxidant ability of kidney.
Objective: By comparing the adjusting action of electro-acupuncture(EA) on Zusanli(ST36) and Tianshu(ST25) to high sensitivity of the irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) model rats of viscera, to discuss the dif erent targets of the two points as well as the specii c law of the points ef ect. Methods: The IBS animal model was established by acetic acid retentionenema method. The model rats were divided into 3 groups: model group, EA ST36 group and EA ST25 group, both 20 munites for 7 times each two days. To observe the inl uence of EA on high sensitivity of model rats of viscera and test the change of NPY content in their spinal cord and brain tissue and bowels tissue of each group. Results: Compared with the model group, EA on ST36 could remarkably improve the capacity threshold value of abdomen raising and back hunching up of rats(P0.05); and also could remarkably increase NPY content(P0.05) in thalamus. EA on ST25 could increase NPY content in bowel tissue(P0.05). Conclusion: ST36 could directly restrain the visceral high sensitivity of model rats, and adjust the NPY content in thalamus of rats. But ST25 with low sensitivity, it just had the local adjusting ef ect on the brain-gut peptide. It was concluded that the change of NPY content in thalamus might be the key adjusting element in producing dif erence ef ects between the two points.
Objective:Comparison of the adjusting action of electro-acupuncture on Guanyuan(RN 4) and Dachangshu(BL 25) points to high sensitivity of IBS model rats of viscera,to discuss the mechanism of the acu-points.Methods:The IBS model of animals were made by acetic acid retention-enema method,and then divided into model group,EA RN 4 group and EA BL 25 group.Observation of the influence of electro-acupuncture to high sensitivity of model rats of viscera and testing the changes of NPY content in their spinal cord and brain tissue and bowels tissue of each group.Results:①Compared with the model group,electro-needling on RN 4 point and BL 25 point can remarkably improved the capacity threshold value of abdomen raising of rats(P0.05),electro-needling on RN 4 point can remarkably improved capacity threshold value of back hunching up of rats(P0.05).②Compared with model group,electro-needling on RN 4 point could remarkably increase NPY content in thalamus(P0.01),the content of NPY electro-needling BL 25 point increased significantly in the spinal cord(P0.05).Conclusion:RN 4 and BL 25 point are located at the same nerve segment in spinal cord,but RN 4 has a better effect of restraining the high sensitivity of viscera of IBS model rats than BL 25 point.It is conjectured that RN 4 point not only has local adjusting effect as same as BL 25 point,but also has adjusting effect for the disorder of brain-gut axis.
目的针对在职研究生具有一些共性的优点和一些普遍存在的问题进行讨论,为在职研究生教育提供一些参考。方法结合本院在职研究生教育的实际情况进行阐述在职研究生教育的体会。结果在职研究生大多具有实践经验丰富,专业能力强,工学矛盾突出等特点。但与此同时又存在着与其他同等学历的研究生所不同的问题。结论在职人员攻读硕士学位是我国拓宽高层次人才培养途径的重要举措,也是构建在职人员终身学习的重要平台,因此要在实践中不断总结经验,完善培养人才的各项制度,对培养高素质的专业技术人员队伍具有重要意义。
OBJECTIVE:To compare the regulatory effects of electro-acupuncture (EA) at acupoints Zusanli (ST36) and Hegu (LI4) on the visceral hyper-sensitivity in the rat model of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and to explore the acting targets and specialty of acupoints.METHODS:Except 8 rats of the normal control group, the rest 32 rats were prepared to set up the IBS models. IBS animal model was prepared by enema with acetic acid. Model rats were divided into three groups. Except for rats in the model group for control, those in the other two groups were treated 20 min by EA on ST36 (EA-ST36) and LI4 (EA-LI4) respectively for 2 weeks to observe the effect on behavior response of viscera sensitivity. The changes of neuropeptide (NPY), the somatostatin (SS) levels in blood and tissues of brain and intestine were monitored as well.RESULTS:The volume thresholds for abdomen uplifting and back hunching were obviously increased after EA-ST36 (P<0.05), but showed insignificant change after EA-LI4. NPY contents lowered and SS contents increased in model rats; both EA-ST36 and EA-LI4 could raise the level of thalamic NPY (P<0.01 and P<0.05, respectively), but showed insignificant effects on NPY in colonic tissue. As for SS content, its colonic level could be reduced by EA-S36 and EA-LI4 (P<0.01 and P<0.05, respectively), however, its blood level was affected only by EA-ST36 (P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS:EA-ST36 or EA-LI4 could regulate the NPY in thalamus and SS in colonic tissue, the former could affect blood level of SS as well. It is deemed that NPY and SS may be the key substances for regulating the action of acupuncture in the brain-intestinal axis; their different levels could be regarded as an indicator for the functional difference between the acupoints.
