Fueled by the global demographic shift towards aging societies, Ambient Assisted Living research has undergone a profound transformation. Against this backdrop, this study conducts a systematic bibliometric and visual analysis of the AAL research field. Using CiteSpace and VOSviewer, we examined 493 core publications from the Web of Science database (2009–2025), aiming to map the research landscape, track thematic shifts, and identify emerging directions. The findings reveal a clear evolutionary trajectory: from early foundational technology construction, to mid-term integration of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, and more recently toward a growing emphasis on user experience, ethical considerations, and sustainable business models. The analysis identifies that state-of-the-art AAL systems are evolving with three defining characteristics: unobtrusive sensing, embodied interaction, and predictive decision-making. The analysis further highlights deep learning–based human activity recognition as a leading technological frontier. At the same time, the focus of AAL research is shifting from a pursuit of technical performance toward prioritizing user trust and fostering an integrated ecosystem. Finally, the paper outlines the emergence of AI-powered AAL systems, which embody these three characteristics, and emphasizes the need for continued innovation across theoretical, methodological, and practical dimensions to advance toward a human-centered, intelligent eldercare ecosystem.

Multinational enterprises (MNEs) are increasingly adopting a corporate language to support communication across global operations. However, debates continue over whether such adoption truly facilitates organizational goals, particularly knowledge transfer, which is broadly viewed as a critical issue in international Management. This study advances the conversation by examining corporate language and knowledge transfer in MNE subsidiaries through the lens of relevance theory. We argue that for knowledge transfer to be effective, the use of a corporate language must establish shared meaning and context, thereby enhancing the perceived relevance of the information to subsidiary employees. Drawing on data from 132 subsidiaries of foreign MNEs operating in China, a major recipient of foreign direct investment in the Asia Pacific, we employ a two-part research model that distinguishes between the formal adoption of a corporate language and its practical implementation by subsidiary employees. Our findings demonstrate that communication quality, socialization mechanisms, and corporate language proficiency interact to enhance the relevance of corporate communication, ultimately facilitating knowledge transfer. These insights offer practical guidance for MNEs seeking to overcome linguistic barriers and improve knowledge sharing within their international operations.
In order to better understand and grasp the progress of social innovation design research, this paper combines quantitative and qualitative research methods and conducts a quantitative analysis of 4037 papers on ‘social innovation design’ in the Web of Science database from 2013 to 2023. According to the findings of this study, the policy environment and the technological environment are the main guiding factors for social innovation design research. This paper presents an academic ecological landscape that differs from previous ones in terms of publication volume, research hotspots, and evolutionary trends. In addition, this paper conducts a descriptive analysis on the time distribution and key themes of social innovation design research. Finally, it analyses the content of the literature from three aspects: essential characteristics, challenges and development paths, and reflection on social innovation design research.
The objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis within the domain of Smart Product-Service Systems (Smart PSS). Leveraging the extant scholarly work, this paper delineates the prevailing research landscape and trajectories, while scrutinizing the focal points and prospective trends in this discipline. A total of 925 relevant articles were retrieved and collected from the Web of Science core database. VOSviewer and CiteSpace knowledge mapping tools were utilized to analyze the annual publication volume, institutional collaboration, topic burst, keyword co-occurrence, author collaboration, author co-citation, document co-citation, and references in the field of Smart Product-Service Systems. It is evident from this research that there is a lack of coordination between theoretical and practical development in the current study of Smart PSS sustainability, and the research field has certain limitations. Additionally, the research focus in this field has shifted from product-centered to user-centered, resulting in a sustainable development trend aimed at value co-creation. In the future, it is necessary to achieve sustainable development of Smart PSS through three aspects: theoretical innovation, methodological innovation, and development path. This systematic review will deepen the understanding of Smart PSS research and provide directional guidance for future studies. It also emphasizes the necessity of exploring the Smart PSS field more deeply to achieve sustainable development in this area.
The accelerating global population aging has brought increasing attention to the loneliness and emotional needs experienced by older adults due to shrinking social networks and the loss of relatives and friends, which significantly impair their quality of life and psychological well-being. In this context, companion robots powered by artificial intelligence are increasingly regarded as a scalable and sustainable form of emotional intervention that can address older people’s affective and social requirements. This study systematically reviews research trends in this field, analyzing the structure of emotional needs among older users and their acceptance mechanisms toward robot functionalities. First, a keyword co-occurrence analysis was conducted using VOSviewer on relevant literature published between 2000 and 2025 from the Web of Science database, revealing focal research topics and emerging trends. Subsequently, questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews were carried out to identify emotional needs and functional preferences among elderly users. Findings indicate that the field is characterized by increasing interdisciplinary integration, with affective computing and naturalistic interaction becoming central concerns. Empirical results reveal significant differences in need structures across age groups: the oldest-old prioritize safety monitoring and daily assistance, whereas the young-old emphasize social interaction and developmental activities. Regarding emotional interaction, older adults generally prefer natural and non-intrusive expressive styles and exhibit reserved attitudes toward highly anthropomorphic designs. Key factors influencing acceptance include practicality, ease of use, privacy protection, and emotional warmth. The study concludes that effective companion robot design should be grounded in a nuanced understanding of the heterogeneous needs of the aging population, integrating functionality, interaction, and emotional value. Future development should emphasize adaptive and customizable capabilities, adopt natural yet restrained interaction strategies, and strengthen real-world cross-cultural and long-term evaluations.
In the context of digital intelligence, innovation is vital for manufacturing enterprises to establish sustainable competitive advantages. As the cornerstone of decision-making, the information-processing capability of top management teams plays an essential role in driving organizational success. Using panel data from A-Share manufacturing listed companies between 2015 and 2023, we conducted programming in the R language employing hierarchical clustering and k-means algorithms for faultline grouping calculations. The empirical analysis portion utilized STATA software, where the Hausman test was implemented to determine the use of a fixed-effects model for computation. The results demonstrate that task-related faultlines, driven by factors such as educational background, tenure, career experience, and years of service, have a positive impact on innovation performance. In contrast, relationship-related faultlines influenced by gender and age exhibit a negative effect. Furthermore, long-term investment decision preferences mediate the relationship between faultlines and innovation performance. Performance expectation gaps amplify the positive influence of task-related faultlines and mitigate the negative effects of relationship-related faultlines. In comparison with the majority subgroup, when the chairperson is part of a minority subgroup, the faultline has a more significant impact on innovation performance. This study presents a novel framework for fostering innovation within the manufacturing industry under the digital intelligence context. By combining R programming with empirical analysis, we thoroughly examine how the characteristics of top management teams’ faultlines influence innovation performance through an information processing perspective. Our findings provide actionable insights for optimizing executive structures and aligning decision-making strategies, thereby advancing organizational effectiveness.
To address the problem of accurately evaluating age-friendly retrofit indicators in urban communities, this study constructs an evaluation model that takes into account user preferences and their interaction needs based on the social–ecological–technological systems (SETS) theory. The model aims to establish a set of precise community retrofit indicators, covering aspects such as public participation level, public ancillary facilities, green space layout, living environment building, health service support, and accessible design. By employing prioritization strategies, the model seeks to maximize resident satisfaction and promote harmonious coexistence between the community and the environment. Firstly, the retrofit evaluation indicators are formulated using the SETS theory. The entropy weight method (EWM) is then applied to determine the initial weights of these evaluation indicators, followed by the use of the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method to analyze the interrelationships among the indicators. The Kano model is integrated to adjust the weights, reflecting their importance. The final weights of the indicators are determined through normalization. Based on this, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method is employed to rank and analyze the importance of age-friendly retrofits in the community. Finally, six communities in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China, are selected as samples to evaluate and analyze the age-friendly retrofit indicators. Different methods are compared, and their advantages and disadvantages are ranked to validate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed approach. Based on the analysis results, specific design schemes for improving the identified shortcomings in age-friendly aspects of these communities are proposed, considering the needs of aging populations and taking into account community public facilities, accessible design renovations, and the enhancement of green space layouts. This study aims to explore the comprehensive benefits of an age-friendly retrofit in urban communities and provide reference for the deep integration of social, ecological, and technological benefits in urban renewal. The evaluation indicators, methods, and conclusions presented can serve as a decision-making basis for the renovation and renewal of aging urban communities, particularly in terms of age-friendly updates.
In response to the challenge of accurately assessing age-friendly design requirements during the improvement phase of smart products, a novel evaluation model is proposed. This model is grounded in the technology acceptance model and considers the interplay between user weights and requirements. The aim is to establish precise product indicators and development strategies, thereby maximizing user satisfaction and market competitiveness. Initially, design evaluation indicators are derived from the technology acceptance model. Subsequently, the TextRank algorithm and grounded theory are employed to determine the initial weights of these indicators. The DEMATEL method is utilized to analyze the weight of influence relationships between indicators, while the Kano model determines importance coefficients for adjusting weights. Through normalization, final weights are assigned, and the TOPSIS method implements sorting and significance analysis of age-friendly design requirements. Five age-friendly smartphone samples serve as case studies to evaluate and analyze the five age-friendly design requirement indicators. Method comparison and advantage/disadvantage sorting analyses are conducted to validate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed approach.
Visual perception has always been the focus in design research. In order to systematically summarize the research streams and frontier issues related to visual perception since the beginning of twenty first century, 378 articles were retrieved under the 'A & HCI' in the Web of Science Core Collection. Firstly, the research distribution of these articles is introduced, and four research streams of visual perception are identified through multi-dimensional scaling analysis, namely, 'expert' research, 'behavior' research, 'expression' research and 'quantization' research. Secondly, using the method of bibliometrics science mapping, the paper summarizes the research topics analysis of citing literature and the research community analysis of cited literature. Research directions worthy of further exploration are delineated: these are academic circle continuation, 'hot' new exploration, classic re-excavation and cross-field expansion. Finally, 25 frontier issues are summarized, and these provide some enlightenment for future research directions in visual perception research related to design.

发明人网络是组织内部知识转移与交互的核心渠道,探究发明人网络特征对企业技术创新的作用机制具有重要意义.基于社会网络理论与知识重组理论,构建发明人网络特征对企业技术创新绩效的作用机制模型,利用2012-2021年汽车制造业上市公司专利数据进行实证分析.研究结果表明:发明人网络整体聚类系数与平均路径长度均正向影响企业技术创新绩效;知识重组再利用能力和创造能力在发明人网络特征与技术创新绩效关系中发挥双重中介作用;协作研发深度会强化知识重组能力对企业创新绩效的正向作用.上述研究揭示了知识重组能力与协作研发在发明人网络影响企业技术创新绩效过程中的作用机理,对企业内部网络构建和知识资源优化等具有指导作用.
高管团队是企业创新决策的制定者,对企业的创新绩效负责.本文采用2014-2019年247家创业板企业的数据研究高管团队职能异质性对企业创新绩效的影响,同时引入中介效应与调节效应模型,分别考察了战略双元平衡是否发挥了中介作用,以及CEO权力是否发挥了调节作用.研究结果表明,高管团队职能异质性对企业创新绩效发挥了显著的正向影响,且战略双元平衡在其中发挥了部分中介作用,同时CEO权力正向调节了高管团队异质性对企业创新绩效的影响.因此,企业需要保持高管团队职能背景的多样性,在战略决策过程中对不同类型的创新活动加以关注,进而提高企业的创新产出,提升企业的创新绩效.另外,企业需要保证CEO拥有足够的权力,以有效协调异质性的高管团队,防止冲突和分歧对企业创新绩效产生不利影响.
开放式创新自提出以来,受到各界广泛关注.通过对Web of Science核心数据库中以"开放式创新"为主题的1630篇SSCI学术论文进行共词分析、聚类分析、战略图分析,系统剖析国际学术界关于开放式创新的知识结构、热点和前沿趋势.结果表明:开放式创新的研究仍处在发展上升阶段,开放式创新与协同网络、知识产权、绩效管理和研发能力之间的关系研究,是近年来的热点议题;未来研究将会关注创新策略与价值创造的关系、用户创新与商业模式变革的推进、合作网络与协同创新的促进、技术转移与竞争优势的强化等主题.
智力资本作为一个新兴的研究领域,国际上的相关研究处于经济、管理等学科的前沿.将"智力资本"作为主题词,以2001—2018年间社会科学引文索引(SSCI)收录的1454篇文献为样本,分析国际上智力资本研究领域的知识结构及其动态演化过程.分析结果表明:智力资本的知识结构包括知识型创业研究、组织信息管理研究、企业知识价值研究和企业竞争优势研究4个部分;目前智力资本研究的主题还处于发展阶段,创业和知识产权与风险投资的关系、组织管理优化和信息披露对管理的促进、知识管理和无形资产对绩效的提升、企业创新和竞争优势的强化成为学者们研究的热点.
Purpose This paper aims to present a systematic review of the literature concerning major aspects of innovation performance and compare the research hotspots of innovation performance in the twenty-first century with three primary purposes: first, to view the trend of Chinese and English literature on innovation performance research; second, to summarize the research streams in innovation performance; and third, to predict possible directions for future innovation performance research. Design/methodology/approach The authors first introduce a framework of innovation performance research developments. Then they construct a representative data set of bibliographic records, obtaining 1,768 articles in the SSCI citation index database and 1,431 articles in the CSSCI database. The authors then make a comparative analysis from two aspects: research themes and development of academic communities. The research objects are keywords and references so that co-word and co-cited reference networks are established. Finally, the authors combine the direction of research streams about “innovation performance” to summarize 28 questions in three research fields that can be studied in the future. Findings The momentum of the literature in English on innovation performance is increasing, whereas the Chinese literature has declined in recent years. The direction of research streams in Chinese and English literature is the same: they are the “innovation system/elements” research stream, the “innovation activity/ability” research stream and the “innovation network/social capital” research stream. Although the directions are the same, the specific contents of the research are different. The direction of future development of innovation performance research can be undertaken in three aspects: follow research into expanding hot topics, mine the research of typical academic circles and develop research into exploring more fields. Combined with the direction of research streams, 28 questions in three research fields are summarized. Originality/value Based on the background of “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” in China, the research on enterprise “innovation performance” is becoming more and more important. The findings help us summarize the research streams related to innovation performance research, better understand the themes that point to directions for future development of innovation performance research and summarize 28 questions.

PurposeEntrepreneurship research clearly documents the importance of human and social capital and stresses the way in which entrepreneurs take advantage of their own social affiliations and network strategies in pursuit of their entrepreneurial goals, yet the research on returnee entrepreneurs’ human and social capital is not sufficiently studied in the international context, in particular when returnees’ overseas human capital and social capital may be a misfit with local business environment. Using the data from Chinese returnee entrepreneurs’ venture activities in China, the purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of returnee entrepreneurs’ overseas capital (human and social) and domestic capital (human and social) on their venture performance in China, and further explore the interaction effect of different social and human capital with China’s entrepreneurial environment.Design/methodology/approachThis study surveyed 500 start-up businesses created by returnee entrepreneurs in China to collect data. Self-administered questionnaires were used to collect data on their demographic information, the information about the human and social capital of these returnee entrepreneurs, including domestic and overseas capital, various performance measures, and other control variables ending up with 226 usable questionnaires.FindingsThe results show that Chinese returnee entrepreneurs’ overseas human capital and social capital, as well as their domestic social capital, but not domestic human capital, have a significant impact on their venture performance. In addition, while domestic entrepreneurial environment does not affect the impact of overseas human and social capital on venture performance, it does provide an important contextual setting for domestic capital to improve returnee entrepreneurs’ venture performance.Originality/valueThe findings help enrich the understanding of the dynamic interplays among Chinese returnee entrepreneurs’ domestic human capital and social capital, overseas human capital, and social capital, as well as the entrepreneurial environment for returnee entrepreneurs’ success, which makes an important contribution to the international entrepreneurship theory by showing that overseas human capital and social capital are not a misfit with local markets. It also provides empirical support for the mediating effect of entrepreneurial opportunity identification. The important role of entrepreneurial opportunity is empirically supported in an international context: entrepreneurship is all about the discovery of entrepreneurial opportunities and exploitation of this opportunity to create viable business entities for new products and services, even in the Chinese context, a culture which is very different from the ones where the entrepreneurship theory was developed.
老字号餐饮企业不仅是餐饮历史发展的见证者,也是饮食文化的传承者.随着时代变迁,老字号餐饮企业的产品与服务已跟不上顾客需求变化的节奏.研究并提高老字号餐饮企业的顾客满意度迫在眉睫.通过对国内外顾客满意度测评模型深入研究,结合老字号餐饮经营现状与经营特点,建立由3个不同层次构成的老字号餐饮企业顾客满意度测评指标体系.在因子分析的基础上论证出老字号餐饮企业顾客满意度主要受产品期望、服务期望、产品创新等13个因素影响,为老字号餐饮企业提升顾客满意度奠定理论基础.
This paper constructs a semi-parametric model to study the effects of six different factors of innovation performance in different industries based on the relevant data of Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) listed companies. The empirical results show that: (1) R&D expenditures on innovation performance in most industries have a significant positive impact; (2) R&D personnel investment and government subsidies have a significant positive impact on technology innovation performance of knowledge-oriented industries; (3) technology diversity has a significant positive impact on innovation performance of technology-oriented industries; (4) the proportion of exports and company size show an inverted U-shaped relationship with technological innovation performance in some industries; and (5) the effect of semi-parametric model fit is superior to the general parameters model.
