Temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJ OA) is a common and heterogeneous disease that causes painful and progressive joint degeneration, which restricts daily activities, including talking and chewing. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are an important class of genes involved in various physiological and pathological functions, including osteoarthritis (OA).The present study aimed to identify the lncRNAs that are important in TMJ OA and their potential functions. Here, we found that HOTAIR was significantly upregulated in the synovial fluid of TMJ OA patients compared with that of normal controls. Increased HOTAIR was similarly observed in the synovial fluid of TMJ OA rabbits as compared to control rabbits. Furthermore, in interleukin-1β (IL-1β)-induced TMJ OA in vitro model (primary rabbit condylar chondrocytes), the expressions of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-1, MMP3, MMP9 and HOTAIR were all dramatically increased. Most importantly, knockdown of HOTAIR in IL-1β-induced TMJ OA in vitro model could not only reverse the IL-1β-stimulated expressions of MMP1, MMP3 and MMP9, but also significantly decrease the apoptosis rate induced by IL-1β in primary rabbit condylar chondrocytes. Our data provides new insight into the mechanisms of chondrocytes destruction in TMJ OA.
BACKGROUND:Rapid advances in multislice computed tomography (MSCT) technology facilitate accurate clinical imaging. The newly developed 64-slice CT increases temporal and spatial resolution efficiently.PURPOSE:The purpose of this study is to evaluate the application of 64 slice spiral computed tomography (CT) on the imaging of the normal optics canal.METHODS AND MATERIALS:100 healthy adults were investigated using 64 slice spiral CT. The optics canal was scanned, reconstructed and examined.RESULTS:Among the four walls of the optic canal, the medial wall is the longest one. The upper wall and outer wall are inferior to the medial wall while the inferior wall is the shortest one. All the data accomplished by the 64 slice CT was consistent with the results of previous reports using other methods.CONCLUSION:The results suggested that the 64 slice spiral CT could be a valuable and accurate method for measuring the length of optics canal walls.
Objective To establish animal model of posterior capsule opacification ( PCO) in New Zealand white rab-bits and detect survivin expression in PCO tissue.Methods Thirty adult New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into control group and experimental group.The 5 rabbits in control group were executed.Ultrasonic phacoemul-sification was performed in the 25 experimental rabbits'eyes.Their eyes were examined by slit lamp microscope to observe the development of PCO immediately and 3, 7, 14 and 28 days after surgery, and then they were executed.The posterior capsule of right eyes was taken in all the rabbits.Western blotting and reverse transcription polymerase ( RT-PCR) were performed to detect survivin expression in PCO at different time points postoperatively.Results Both Western blotting and RT-PCR method indicated that different level of survivin expression was detected in the tissue of PCO 3, 7, 14 and 28 days after surgery.It reached the peak at the 7th day, and began to decrease at the 14th day after surgery.Conclusion The survivin expression can be detected in the tissue of PCO in certain time, which indicated that survivin is correlated with the pathogenesis of PCO.
患者女,24岁.因右眼视物发暗、遮挡感5d于2005年7月29日入院.既往无全身疾病史及眼部外伤史.眼部检查:右眼视力0.25,+0.50 (O)+0.75×105°=0.4,左眼视力0.3,+ 1.25=0.6.双眼外眼正常;晶状体透明、玻璃体无混浊.间接检眼镜检查见右眼坐位下方视网膜隆起,视网膜下积液透明,随体位变化而移动;三面镜检查见周边360.环形脉络膜脱离,未查见裂孔.左眼除周边环形脉络膜脱离外,无其他异常.眼压:右眼10.1mm Hg(1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa),左眼14.1 mm Hg.B型超声检查可见右眼球壁内层明显增厚伴视网膜脱离(图1).眼轴:右眼20.99 mm,左眼21.16 mm.荧光素眼底血管造影(FFA)检查结果显示,右眼早期未脱离区视网膜下可见斑点状强荧光,视网膜脱离区可见荧光渗漏(图2);左眼FFA检查未见异常.脑脊液检查正常.双眼CT检查可见右眼后极部球壁呈现不均匀增厚(图3);左眼眼环未见增厚.

This study was aimed to evaluate the application of64-slice spiral CT in imaging anatomy of the normal optic canal. The optic canals of 100 healthy subjects were examined by 64-slice spiral CT,and the imaging measurement of the anatomy structures were performed by the multi-planar reconstruction. The longest and the shorzest walls of the optic canal were the medial wall and the inferior wall, respectively.Results indicate that the imaging anatomic measurement of the optic canal can be accurately and easily performed by means of multi-planar reconstruction of 64-slice spiral CT.
Objective To evaluate and compare the visual performance between the patients with the bilateral refractive multifocal and monofocal intraocular lens(10 L).Methods It was a prospective nonrandomized controlled study.Twenty five patients(50 eyes)received phacoemulsification and IOL implantation were divided into two groups,10 patients(20 eyes)in the multifocal group,and 15 patients(30 eyes)in the monofocal group.Three months after surgery,the results of the uncorrected distance and near vision,the best corrected distance and near vision,Chinese reading vision,the contrast sensitivity and stereopsis acuity were measured,the subjective visual performance after surgery was evaluated by the questionnaire.Results The difference of the uncorrected distance,the best corrected distance and near vision between the multifocal and monofocal groups was not statistical significant.The uncorrected near vision and Chinese reading vision were statistically better in the multifocal group than the monofocal group.Photopic contrast sensitivity at high spatial frequency(18 c/d) and mesopic sensitivity with glare at medium frequency(6 c/d) were statistically lower in the multifocal group(P0.05).The spectacle independent rate of multifocal and monofocal group were 90.00% and 26.66% respectively.The mild and moderate glare and halo were existent in both groups.No serious glare and halo phenomenon were reported.Conclusions Compared with the monofocal intraocular lens,the refractive multifocal intraocular lens could provide a satisfactory recovery of vision function and good visual performance except the slight decrease of the contrast sensitivity.
患者女,52岁,3个月前因筛窦炎行内窥镜鼻内筛窦开放术,术后出现严重复视,于2008年7月21日以右眼内直肌离断收住我院眼科.眼科检查:国际标准视力表测定双眼裸眼视力1.0;头位:面右转;眼位:33 cm角膜映光法检查示左眼注视,右眼-45°,右眼不能注视;眼球运动:右眼内转不能过中线;牵拉试验:右眼内直肌主动收缩、被动牵拉(-),外直肌主动收缩(+),被动牵拉(-).
AIM: To study the effects of Sodium Hyaluronate (HA) and Bion Tears on corneal thickness in adult myopic patients.METHODS: A total of 38 cases (76 eyes) were involved in this study. Three consecutive corneal measurements (the thinnest point of the cornea,THN) were evaluated before and half an hour after the instillation of one drop of HA in one eye and Bion Tears in the other at random with the Orbscan Corneal Topography System II (Orbscan,Inc,Salt Lake City,UT,USA,Version 3.00E).RESULTS: There were no significant between-group differences in baseline variable (t=0.264). Thirty minutes after the instillation of HA and Bion tears,THN were significantly increased by 5.57±7.00μm (t=4.906,P<0.01) and 7.89±7.64μm (t=6.369,P<0.01) respectively. However,there were no between-group differences in THN changes(t=1.381,P>0.05).Increase in the corneal thickness were found in 32 eyes (84%) and 33 eyes (87%) for the HA and Bion tears group,respectively.CONCLUSION: Artificial tears including HA and Bion Tears can significantly increase the corneal thickness in a short period of time. Corneal thickness can be used as one of the objective indices for evaluating the quality and therapeutic role of artificial tears.

0引言 眼内异物伤是严重危害视力的一类眼外伤,原则上应尽早取出异物,而要实现异物的取出,对其进行定性和定位无疑最为关键并且在绝大多数情况下要依赖影像学检查.但我们认为,发生于某些特殊情况下眼内异物伤,在特定的"时间窗"内,间接眼底镜不仅能完全取代常规影像学检查,而且能在异物取出过程中发挥作用,缩短患者救治时间,降低患者治疗费用,现举例说明.
<正>周期性内斜视10例中男6例,女4例;发病年龄最大10岁,最小3岁,平均5岁。斜视角≤20°者3例,>20°者7例;散瞳检查示8例有轻度远视,2例有中度远视;8例周期为48h,1例为24h,1例为72h。临床特征为内斜视与正位视交替出现,有时间规律,大多数患者有明显病因,如惊吓、发热、外伤等;正位日有时表现为小角度内斜视,有双眼单视功能,且有生理性复视功能;斜视日呈内斜视,斜度大,多在+30-+40°之间,远近斜视角稳定,双眼视力正常,很少合并弱视,眼球运动正常或内直肌功能亢进。术前散瞳验光,阿托品眼膏涂眼每日3次,连续3d,第4天验光,屈光度≥+2.00D者配镜,带镜6个月后手术治疗。术前常规检查视力、眼底、同视肌,用三棱镜检查远近斜视角。手术设计:≤+25°者单眼内直肌后退,≤+60°者双眼内直肌后退,>+60°者双眼内直肌后退加一条外直肌截除。内直肌后退量一般为5-6mm。10例中术后斜视角<10°者8例;2例欠矫,再次手术后正位;无1例过矫。≤+50°者正位率高。6例正位患儿术后2-4周检查双眼单视功能,有正常立体视觉。4例因年幼不配合检查。
患者,男,42岁,因右眼球后针刺样疼痛并向前额部放射10d,于2000年6月17日就诊.全身检查示一般情况可,痛苦表情,血压18/14kPa,CT及MRI检查蝶骨小翼密度增加,海绵窦两侧不对称,窦内密度不正常.眼部检查示右眼视力0.1,不能矫正,眼压5.5/52.3kPa,眼位正,上、下、内直肌麻痹,眼球向上、下、内转受限,角膜知觉反射迟钝,眼底未见异常.左眼视力1.0,眼压5.5/52.3kPa,外眼未见异常.静脉滴注5%GS500ml+地塞米松15mg,口服ATP、肌苷和多种维生素,10d后症状缓解,改口服强地松50mg每日1次,1周后逐渐减量到5mg每日1次,持续10d症状消失,随访观察16个月未见复发.
先天性睑下垂是一种影响视功能和有碍面容的疾病,严重的睑下垂如不及早手术可引起遮盖性弱视。1998年1月至2000年1月我们共治疗先天性中、重度睑下垂32例、38眼。其中男20例,女12例,3~13岁,平均6.5岁,双眼发病6例。手术年龄3~6岁10例,7~10岁14例,11~13岁8例。随访时间1~2年,平均1年零8个月。
Objective:To observe the effect of the surgery of dissociated vertical divergence combined with horizontal squint.Method:The patients were performed dissociated vertical divergence operation, then horizontal squint operation. Result:36 cases got right position of eyes and good eyes' movement.Conclusion:The combination surgery is feasible.
