Objective To study the status of mental stress of medical students and its influencing factors,so as to improve the physical and mental health of medical students.Methods A total of 1262 medical students in Shandong university were investigated by self-made "Medical Students Stress Questionnaire",SPSS13.0 was used to analyze the data.Results ① In all of the medical students investigated,half of them existed higher stress than common ones,main stressors were learning and job hunting.Deep stressors were mainly from parents' expectation/high demand on self-development/competition.②For medical students of different gender,significant differences existed in total sensation of stress(t=-2.466,P<0.05),interpersonal stress(t=3.528,P<0.01)and emotional stress(t=-3.663,P<0.01).③ In addition to learning stress,for medical students of different numbers of children and birthplaces,significant differences existed in total sensation of stress and five other stressors(t=2.067～96.788,P<0.01 or P<0.05).Conclusion Learning and job hunting are main stress for medical students;For the mental stress of medical students,the important influencing factors are gender,number of children and birthplaces.
