In this article the results of the study of focal observations of interchangeability of generic Konvuleksa to retard and original probe Depakine chrono on Valparin XR (production Torrent Pharmaceuticals, India) in patients with various forms of epilepsy. In focal observations was attended by 30 patients with focal forms of epilepsy: 17 men and 13 women aged 23 to 62 years with different disease duration and the presence of seizures, which differ according to the type and etiology. Based on these results it can be concluded that the transfer of patients with previous therapy Valparin XR generally accompanied by a stable level of seizure control.
This review presents the modern data on the use of nootropic drugs in the complex treatment of epilepsy. Contains the data on the effectiveness, safety and feasibility of nootropic preparation fonturacetamum use in the treatment of neurological diseases. Presented data on the antiepileptic activity phenotropil use. Presented data of the authors about the application of fonturacetamum use as part of an integrated antiepileptic therapy. On the basis of the analysed data a conclusion is made about the need for further study of antiepileptic action fonturacetamum use and effectiveness of its application in complex therapy of epilepsy.
Current work is dedicated to analysis of treatment with generic topiramate in monoas well as in polytherapy in patients with different forms of epilepsy. Forclinical assessmentsHospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), quality of life questionnaire for patients with epilepsy (QOLIE-10) and efficacy primary assessment based on decrease in frequency of seizures and adverse events before and after switching to generic topiramate were used. As a result of focus investigation switch to Topsaver was associated with maintenance of stable therapeutic effect in more, than 80% of cases. No negative dynamics in changes of HADS and QOLIE-10 points were observed.
this paper presents experience of using Vimpat in outpatient health care chain of Moscow. In the observational study were attended 49 patients with difficult for treatment focal forms of epilepsy (cryptogenic and symptomatic forms). Vimpat used in complex therapy in the mean effective dose of 300-400 mg per day. As a result, the data on a cohort of Russian patients showed that Vimpat demonstrate a sufficiently high clinical efficacy (55%, p
This article discusses the problem of impaired reproductive function and sexual health in male patients with epilepsy. Issues reviewed include the aetiology of these dysfunctions (most probably due to a variety of causes), epilepsy as such, as well as drugs used for its treatment; these issues are closely related to each other and have a considerable effect on the manifestations of this condition. Impairments of sex steroid concentrations, hypothalamic pituitary function, as well as testicular function, form a basis for reproductive dysfunction in male patients with epilepsy. The psychosocial complications of epilepsy can have implications for reproductive health and sexual function. Practitioners should pay more attention to these problems, as patients frequently deny or fail to notice some of these disturbances.
The experiments on white outbred male rats with cobalt-induced epileptogenic focus in the left sensomotor cortical region showed that the anticonvulsant effect of carbamazepine (20 mg/kg) depends on the functional state of the epileptic system (ES). In various stages of the ES development, the drug effect is related to the influence upon the determinant focus generating the epileptic activity. In the initial stage, carbamazepine primarily affects epileptic activity of the cortical foci (ipsi- and contralateral hemisphere). In the second (generalization) stage, the drug decreases the epileptic activity in all structures, but to a greater extent, in the dorsal hippocampus and lateral hypothalamus.
