In order to ensure epidemiological surveillance and prevention measures aimed at preventing the occurrence of dangerous infectious diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, the ZikaMap geographic information system was used during the preparation and hosting the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Sochi. The use of this information resource allowed real-time visualization and analysis of data on monitoring the number and distribution of Aedes albopictus mosquitoes, monitoring the performance and effectiveness of insecticidal (larvicidal) treatments. The cartographic display of the radius of spread of mosquitoes from the points of their detection made it possible to determine the risks of their contact with epidemiologically significant objects and correct the treatment plan if necessary. The results of the analysis showed the effectiveness of the taken prevention measures (a total of 139 objects were processed on an area of 252.2 hectares). Entomological monitoring data at 692 observation points confirmed the localization of mosquitoes Ae. albopictus on the territory of city cemeteries and in the forest-park zone, but mosquitoes of this species were not found near the epidemiologically significant objects. The geographical information system ZikaMap is a domestic development and can be used to solve various problems of monitoring carriers and vectors for infectious diseases and for planning preventive measures.
Epidemic outspread of Zika fever has given WHO authority to declare emergency situation in the sphere of international healthcare. Major risks for the Russian Federation are associated with the import of the disease by persons, infected in epidemiologically hazardous territory, or import of Zika virus vectors by transport means of international traffic. In this context, developed and normatively regimented is the complex of measures aimed at prevention of Zika virus disease, comprising activities to control import of the infection from enzootic territories, monitoring over the vectors of virus, Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus , and procedure for disinfection operations. Developed and introduced into practice is a home-made preparation for laboratory diagnostics and detection of Zika virus RNA using PCR. The article covers the issue of possible dissemination of the vectors in southern regions of Russia in view of climate warming. It is concluded that nowadays probability of local Zika virus transmission in “human-mosquito” cycle is extremely low and no complications of epidemiological situation on arboviral Ae. aegypti- and Ae. albopictus- borne infections are predicted.
Aim. Analysis of epidemic manifestations of natural-foci infections (NFI), clarification of spectrum of their causative agents, determination of epizootic activity of natural foci in the Crimea Federal District (KFD). Materials and methods. Epizootologic examination of 10 administrative districts of KDF was carried out. 291 pools (2705 specimens) of ixodes ticks and 283 samples of organs of small mammals were studied by PCR method for the presence of DNA/RNA of causative agents of a number of NFI. Results. Morbidity by NFI in KFD was registered by 6 nosologies: Lyme borreliosis, Marseilles fever, leptospirosis, tularemia, intestine yersiniosis and tick-borne viral encephalitis, wherein, transmissive infections made up 91.6%. Circulation of causative agents of Crimea hemorrhagic fever, Q fever, group of tick-borne spotted fever, Lyme borreliosis, human granulocytic anaplasmosis, human monocytic ehrlichiosis, hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, West Nile fever, tularemia and leptospirosis was established. Conclusion. Due to activity of natural foci of NFI further monitoring of epidemiologic and epizootologic manifestations of these infections in the Crimea, including using genetic methods of analysis, is necessary for ensuring sanitary-epidemiologic welfare of KFD population.
Problems of the perspective of geoinformational systems (GIS) use for improvement of epidemiologic control of infectious diseases including during mass events are examined. A scheme of creation of the decision making support system (DMSS) is proposed, the system is based on GIS, has general primary data and analytical-prognostic tool base including subsystems: real-time primary information intake, information analysis, epizootic and epidemic activity prognosis on the certain territories and the federal level. Specialized personnel training, creation of infrastructure for DMSS functioning in primary Federal Service of Surveillance for Protection of Consumers Rights and Human Welfare units are designated as priority tasks.
