Abstract. Acute sinusitis is one of the most common pathological conditions encountered in outpatient practice by an otolaryn-gologist. Objective of the trial. Study of clinical efficacy and safety of the drug Spectracef in patients with acute bacterial sinusitis. Conclusions. On the basis of the conducted trials it is necessary to note fast dynamics of the main clinical symptoms of acute purulent sinusitis. The average time of disappearance of the main clinical symptoms of the disease was 3.7 days.

Acute sinusitis (AS) continues to be a challenge in the present-day otorhinolaryngology, occupying a leading place in the structure of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract. Thus, patients with sinus disorders account for 15 to 36% of all patients at ENT units. The crucial aspect in the treatment of acute sinusitis is achieving persistent bactericidal concentration of antibiotic resulting in the desired eradication of the bacteria.
The contemporary otorhinolaryngology is faced with the problem of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with auditory disorders due to various causes. Overall, acute inflammatory diseases of the middle ear account for quite a high percentage of ear pathology; the type of disorder often results in a temporary disability as well as chronic inflammatory process, onset of various complications (otogenic intracranial, sepsis, labyrinthitis, facial neuropathy et al.) and subsequently - persistent disability of the patient [3].
Etiology, pathogenesis and treatment of patients with inflammatory diseases of the outer ear remain relevant for the modern otorhinolaryngology. Reduction in the overall reactivity of the organism and local immunity factors against a background of environmental degradation, as well as widespread and largely unjustified administration of antibiotics, antiseptics or hormonal medications, contribute to the steady growth of diseases of the outer ear.
