An experiment was carried out at the Horticulture research center (HRC) Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology Meerut - 250110 during the summer season of 2019. Thirty-one genotypes of bottle gourd were evaluated for genetic diversity analysis. All 31 genotypes fall in 06 different clusters. Cluster VI had the maximum (08) genotypes while cluster II had minimum (02) genotypes. Genetic stocks within a cluster had smaller D2 values among themselves than those belonging to a different cluster. The inter-cluster distance was maximum (3.30) in cluster IV whereas, it was minimum (1.96) in cluster II. Maximum average inter-cluster distance (10.41) was recorded between cluster II and IV suggesting the greater chances of getting superior hybrids in F1 or transgressive segregate in subsequent generations. Genotype in cluster I was maximum fruit length (cm), fruit girth (cm). Cluster II was minimum Internodes length (cm). Genotypes in cluster III had maximum vine length (cm), number of nodes per plant, fruit weight (gm), and duration of crop in days. Cluster IV took minimum days to plant germination, number of primary branches, day to 1st flower initiation, day to 50% flowering, day to 1st fruit set, day to 1st fruit harvest, number of fruit per plant, and fruit yield per plant (kg), while cluster V was recorded maximum number of leaf and minimum seed index, due to the presence of variations among the genotypes.
Background: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) are one of the common distressing conditions after anesthesia. The PONV are related to several potential risk factors are patient related, anesthesia related, and surgery related. In surgery-related risk, middle ear surgery is associated with a high incidence of PONV. Aims: This study aimed to compare the efficiency of palonosetron versus palonosetron with dexamethasone in the prevention of PONV in middle ear surgeries. Settings and Design: This was a prospective, randomized, double-blind study. Methods: A prospective randomized double-blind study was conducted for the prevention of nausea and vomiting in patients with middle ear surgeries. The study comprised 50 patients of Group A (palonosetron 0.075 mg) and patients of Group B (palonosetron 0.075 mg and dexamethasone 4 mg). Statistical Analysis: The data were presented as descriptive statistics for continuous variables and percentages for categorical variables and were subjected to Z-test/Chi-square test/Fisher's exact test. The value of P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Demographic parts in comparison to age, duration of surgery, and duration of anesthesia were similar in both the groups. Our study showed that the incidence of PONV during 0–6 h was 38% (n = 19) in Group A and 12% (n = 6) in Group B and the incidence during 6–12 h postoperatively was 14% (n = 7) in Group A and 8% (n = 4) in Group B. During 12–24 h, the incidence was 8% (n = 4) and 6% (n = 3) in Group A and B, respectively. Hence, the difference of total early PONV in Group A was 60% (n = 30) and in Group B, it was 26% (n = 13) which was statistically significant (P < 0.03). Conclusions: The above result proves that palonosetron and dexamethasone group is superior in the prevention of PONV in middle ear surgery.

This is where the question arises which ESB tool is best in this scenario and performance parameters like message throughput, reliability, stability and hardware utilization. Data is modern days’ currency, and with the speed of data expanding exponentially, its storage and processing have also become a vital aspect. The data has been the inspiration of Internet systems in the application fields of advertisement, relevant searching, recommender systems and security, furthermore playing its part in areas of data analytics and logs reporting. Pub-sub as well as event-driven streaming is a distributed interaction paradigm well adapted to the deployment of scalable and loosely coupled systems. There are various use cases that require real-time data feeds for better results. The use of integrated systems such as Mule4 ESB with ActiveMQ JMS and Confluent Kafka analyzes the real-time data flow in various scenarios and coming up with a suitable system that has enhanced performance. In this paper, we will discuss a few of the common use cases based on the parameters such as performance and throughput and a qualitative and quantitative comparison of the two integration paradigms as to which of them are suitably sufficient to support large-scale systems with their message throughput capabilities.
LiF: 0.05 mol% Sm3+, 0.08 mol% Dy3+ with varying concentrations of Eu3+ (x = 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08 mol%) nanophosphors were synthesized by chemical co-precipitation method at fixed 8 pH value, to study the thermoluminescence behaviour for dosimetric applications. XRD confirmed the cubical crystalline phase of the nanophosphors. The average size of the nanophosphor particle calculated as 45 nm from XRD was well confirmed by TEM. The synthesized nanophosphors were exposed by doses of 0.1 kGy to 30 kGy from Co-60 gamma- source. For recording TL glow curves, 5 mg of exposed nanophosphor was taken each time and heated at the constant heating rate of 5 K s(-1) for the temperature range 323 K-673 K. The thermoluminescence revealed a prominent peak at temperature around 398 K to 412 K. The glow curves were deconvoluted using TLAna1 program and the trapping parameters viz. activation energy (E), order of kinetics (b) and frequency factor (s) were calculated by using Chen's peak shape method. Nanophosphors indicated a linear behaviour of TL for the dose from 0.1 kGy to 30 kGy and was described by using track interaction model (TIM).The activation energies ranged between 0.71 to 2.24 eV and the frequency factor(s) were in the range 7.09 x 10(-4) to 1.74 x 10(18) s(-1).
A field study was conducted to evaluate the safety of insecticides against natural enemies’ spiders in brinjal ecosystem. The field trial was conducted at Old campus Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut during the Zaid season of 2019 & 2020. The crop brinjal variety Pusa Purple long was grown in a randomized block design with nine treatments viz., spinosad 45 EC @ 0.30 ml per liter of water Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ 0.5 gm per liter of water, Indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 1.0 ml per liter of water, Profenophos 50EC @ 2.0 ml per liter of water, Lambda cyhalothrin @ 1.0 ml per liter of water, Quinalphos 20 EC @ 2.0 ml per liter, Bacillus thuringiensis @ 2 gm per liter of water, neem oil (1500ppm) @ 5 ml per liter of water and untreated control, replicated thrice. Plot size was 5 x 4 m2 with spacing of 60 cm x 60 cm row to row and plant to plant, respectively. The natural enemies population of spiders was count on five randomly selected plants in each plot 10-day- intervals starting from 21 DAT. The natural enemies count was taken in all treatments. The population count of spiders was recorded on five randomly selected plants /plot. Pre- spray count was made a day before spraying and post spray counts were made at 7and 14 days after each insecticidal application. The maximum population of spiders with After seven and fourteen days of second spray, among all the treatments the maximum pooled population of spiders was recorded in untreated control with 2.00 and 3.83 spiders per five plants and followed by Bacillus thuringiensis @ 2.0 gm per liter of water, neem oil (1500 ppm) @ 5.0 ml per litre of water, Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ 0.5 gm per liter of water, Indoxacarb 14.5 SC@ 1.0 ml per liter of water, spinosad 45% SC @ 0.3 ml per liter of water, Profenophos 50EC @ 2.0ml per liter of water, Lambda- cyhalothrin @ 1.0 per liter of water and Quinalphos 20EC @ 2.0 ml per of water plants, respectively. The most harmful treatment was Quinalphos 20EC @ 2.0 ml per of water with spiders population of 2.67, 2.33, 2.17, 1.83, 1.67 0.67, 0.33 and 0.50 spiders per five plants, respectively. After seven days of spray the minimum population of spiders was found in treatment Quinalphos 20EC @ 2.0 ml per of water plants water with 0.50 spiders per five plants. the maximum adults population of spiders was recorded with Bacillus thuringiensis @ 2.0 gm per liter of water, neem oil (1500 ppm) @ 5.0 ml per litre of water, Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ 0.5 gm per liter of water, Indoxacarb 14.5 SC@ 1.0 ml per liter of water, spinosad 45% SC @ 0.3 ml per liter of water, Profenophos 50EC @ 2.0ml per liter of water, Lambda- cyhalothrin @ 1.0 per liter of water and Quinalphos 20EC @ 2.0 ml per of water plants, respectively. The lowest population was recorded in the treatment Quinalphos 20EC @ 2.0 ml per of water. The treatments, Bacillus thuringiensis @ 2.0 gm per liter of water and neem oil (1500 ppm) @ 5.00 ml per liter water were found safe against spiders population.
Background: Our study analyzes and compares the current and forecasted trend of confirmed and mortality cases in New York state, U.S.A and Hubei province, China. It also discusses the comorbidities associated with COVID-19 deaths and metrics of disease course. Methods: From Jan 22, 2020 to May 27, 2020, auto regressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) modeling applied with data analysis based on time series format for confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths in New York state, U.S.A and Hubei province, China. Time series checked for stationarity using differencing operators. Best fitting model chosen as per auto correlation function (ACF) and partial auto-correlation function (PACF) graphs and compared with other ARIMA models in terms of p-value significance, log likelihood ratio, AIC/BIC (Akaike/ Bayesian information criterion) and coefficients less than 1 and 5% significance. Current and forecasted trends projected using STATA SE 14 statistical software. Findings: The results of our study are based upon COVID-19 data collected from accredited government sources like WHO, U.S CDC, National Health Commission of China and compiled by John Hopkins University. Results show a sharp increasing trend for confirmed COVID-19 cases from Jan 22, 2020 for Hubei province, China while March 2, 2020 for New York state, U.S.A. As per current trend, the curve for confirmed cases in Hubei, China flattened with no steep rise in COVID-19 confirmed cases while New York shows gradual increase for both confirmed and mortality cases of COVID-19. As per projected forecast, the daily mean for confirmed cases during the time period May 18, 2020 to May 24, 2020 for New York shows 350930 (95% CI 348864·6 - 352994·7), respectively. While, 29994 (95% CI 29373 - 30615) COVID-19 confirmed cases for Hubei, China during the same time period as mentioned above. Moreover, certain comorbidities associated with COVID-19 like cardiac conditions, kidney disorder, diabetes and lung disease are also discussed. Interpretation: Our study results can assist the global medical community through better understanding of co-morbid features of COVID-19 pandemic in both regions - New York state, U.S.A and Hubei province, China. It will also assist them to formulate plans to reassess the current situation in order to reduce the mortality and morbidity of the disease and update the public on the current and projected COVID-19 outbreak.Funding Statement: No funding source to declare for this work.Declaration of Interests: The authors declare no competing interests.
Nanocrystalline powders of lithium fluoride (LiF) doped with samarium (III) (Sm3+) and dysprosium (Dy3+) ions (LiF:Sm3+, Dy3+) have been synthesized through the chemical coprecipitation method at a pH value of 8. The phase purity of the asgrown samples has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction, and the average crystallite size was 32 nm, while transmission electron microscopy images showed cubical particles with size in the range 28-40 nm. Thermoluminescence (TL) studies have been carried out on samples irradiated with gamma rays using a cobalt-60 (Co-60) source in the dose range 1-50 kGy at room temperature. The effects of the concentration of dysprosium ions as a co-dopant and exposure doses on TL glow curves have been investigated. It has been found that there is a prominent TL glow peak at 411 K and a shoulder peak around 554 K at a heating rate of 5 K/s. A shift in the glow peak temperature from 400 to 411 K has also been observed in the main glow peak with increase in the irradiation dose from 1 to 50 kGy, indicating that the glow peaks follow second-order kinetics. TL kinetic parameters such as activation energy (E), frequency factor (s) and order of kinetics (b) have also been calculated using Chen's peak-shape method.
The stagnation of productivity growth in the rice-wheat systems of the Indo-Gangetic Plains in South Asia has led to increased calls for technologies based on conservation agriculture. Therefore, the present study was carried out to investigate performance and nitrogen removal as affected by irrigation and nitrogen management under different tillage systems in wheat. From the results, zero tillage with rice straw mulching produced similar grain yield to that of conventional tillage. Zero tillage with mulching showed the yield stability. From growth point of view, zero tillage with mulch method gave highest growth and yield contributing trait where first irrigation at 20 days after sowing and others at IW/CPE = 0.9 was produced maximum grain yield in both conventional as well as zero tillage. Zero tillage recorded significantly lower N uptake by crop than conventional tillage and zero tillage with mulch during both the years. At 150 kg N/ha maximum grain yield of wheat was recorded both in conventional tillage as well as zero tillage system.

The presented antenna is implemented by using four identical square DRs which are cut down in middle to achieve a star DR to increase the antenna bandwidth for broadband wireless applications. The substrate and DR material used for investigation are FR4 and sapphire, which has a dielectric constant (εr) of 4.4 and 10 respectively. A centre feed coaxial line is used to provide input to DRA. Parametric analysis on the antenna is performed using ANSOFT HFSS solver by varying different parameter and shape of DR and length of the feed line. The simulated result shows that the proposed geometry offers a broadband for |S11| < --10dB from 2.065 to 3.395 GHz, which has a fraction bandwidth 39.7% .The presented DRA has a single band and it resonate at 2.4 GHz which has many application in IEEE802.11a standard. Mobile battery blast is a highly underestimated etiology for severe ocular morbidity. We present a series of four eyes of three patients with morbidity ranging from corneal burn to open globe injuries, leading to blindness. Cases of mobile blast are increasing due to poor quality equipments and mishandling (over & faulty charging of batteries). There is urgent need to create awareness in society for safe and proper handling of mobile phone, reducing the incidence of preventable blinding trauma.
A field experiment was conducted in 2015-16 at Akola (MS) to find out the impacts of insitu enhanced straw decomposition on soybean yield and economics.It was laid into the Randomized Block design with 4 replications where 5 treatment combinations made for nutrient management through combining the inorganic fertilizer, straw application with and without Trichoderma viride application.The study revealed that Yield attributes, grain yield, straw yield, GMR and B:C ratio was significantly improved with application of RDF through chemical fertilizers.But, the application of 75% RDN + 25% N through soybean straw + T. viride also improved all parameters equally.So, it could be concluded that application of 75% RDN + 25% N through soybean straw + T. viride proved to be the most feasible system of integrated nutrient management and the application of decomposition enhancer, i.e.Trichoderma viride posses the potential to replace the source of nitrogen.
The present paper reports the synthesis, characterization and gamma dose induced thermoluminescence properties of LiF: Yb3+ nanophosphors. The material was synthesized by chemical co-precipitation method at 8pH value. The crystalline structure and phase purity of the nanophosphors was confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction with an average crystallite size of 65 nm which was further complemented by TEM. Thermoluminescence study was carried out after irradiating the nanophosphors in the range of 1kGy -70kGy at constant heating rate of 5 Ks(-1). The TLAnal program was applied to obtain the deconvoluted curve. The trapping parameters like activation energy (E) and frequency factor were also calculated for deconvoluted TL glow curve using Chen's peak shape methods.
Henna (Lawsonia inermis L.) is a important medicinal plant belonging to the family Lythraceae. Seeds of this species exhibit poor germination and posses seed dormancy. In an effort to find out suitable method to break dormancy to improve germination and promote the cultivation of this plant, treatments were imposed Viz., GA3 @ 500 ppm (24 hr and 48hr), KNO3 @ 1% (24hr and 48hr), wet stratification @ 10° C (24hr and 48hr), soaking in water (24hr and 48hr) acid scarification (3min and 6min), mechanical scarification by rubbing with sand paper (3 min and 6 min) and dry seeds were kept as control (not treated). The highest germination (92.25 %), mean seedling length (5.40 cm), mean seedling dry weight (6.83 mg), SVI-I (498) and SVI –II (630) was observed in the treatment KNO3 24 hr. Whereas lowest germination (31.23%), mean seedling length (2.00 cm), mean seedling dry weight (4.01 mg), SVI-I (63) and SVI–II (125) was observed in the treatment acid scarification 6 min. The highest I±- Amylase activity (64.97 I¼g g-1) was recorded in the treatment KNO3 24hr and lowest activity (43.72 I¼g g-1) was recorded in dry seeds (control – dormant seeds). The dormancy breaking treatments from 1 to 5 were scored as low, medium, high intensity and very high intensity with Rm value ranged from 0.0178 to 0.0948 for esterase activity.
Twenty cactus pear (Opuntia ficus-indica Mill.) genotypes were introduced in India to assess its suitability and performance at two geographical locations i.e., Jodhpur, Rajasthan (26°18’N: 73°04’E, 216 m MSL) and Kutch-Bhuj, Gujarat (23°21’N: 69°77’E, 15 m MSL) for survival and growth. The cladodes were planted in the pottingmixture of soil and compost (6: 1) with initial moisture regulated at 7–9% to prevent rotting. The rooted plantswere transplanted in the field at 2 × 3 m spacing. Mortality due to bacterial rot ranged from 50 to 100 per cent atJodhpur. The highest plant survival in the field after one year of planting was recorded in genotypes RojaxRoja-4-Pianta-25 and ARL spineless (50%) followed by 33.33% each in genotypes Bianco Macomer, Roja Castel Sardo, Gymnocarpe and clone No. 1270. Absolute mortality occurred in varieties Roja San Cono, Clone No.1287, Giall× Giall, Trunzara Red San Cono, A. Giant, Lyria and Militelo White. In contrast, better survival per cent (20–90%)was observed at Bhuj in different accessions. However, the performance and survival in pots under shade nethouse was almost 100% at both the locations but the growth was better at Bhuj as compared to Jodhpur. Theestablishment and growth of cactus pear was affected at Jodhpur due to high temperature coupled with lowrelative humidity (27.81–58.39%, 10 years mean). The coastal areas of Kutch-Bhuj have comparatively higherrelative humidity (44–76%) favoured better growth of cactus. Based on this study, it can be inferred that Kutchbhuj region is comparatively better location for growing cactus pear.
A field experiment was conducted during 2014-15 and 2015-16 on Research Farm of Division of Agronomy, IARI at New Delhi to evaluate Influence of crop residue and potassium management on yield, quality, nutrient uptake and K use efficiencies of mungbean in maize-wheat- mungbean cropping system. The experiment consisted of 15 treatment combinations with three crop residues [no crop residue, crop residue incorporation and fungal consortium incorporation] and five potassium management practices [control, KSB, 100 % RDK, 50% RDK+ KSB and 75% RDK+ KSB]. Results revealed that considerably highest grain yields, protein content, protein yield and N P K concentration both in seed and stalk and its uptake by mungbean were noticed with treatment receiving crop residue incorporation + fungal consortium which was statistically at par with crop residue incorporation. Similar trends were also recorded for K use efficiency, physiological use efficiency, apparent recovery and utilization efficiency during both years of study. Among Potassium management, significantly highest grain yield, protein content, protein yield, N P K concentration, uptake in both seed and stalk and its total uptake were noticed with treatment receiving 75% RDK + KSB which were statistically at par with 50% RDK+ KSB. However, maximum K use efficiency, physiological use efficiency, apparent recovery, utilization efficiency were noticed with treatment receiving 50% RDK+ KSB which were statistically at par with 75% RDK+ KSB as compared to the first year, maximum attributes and efficiencies were observed in the second year of investigation.
