Lalang Sembawa Village, a partner village of Poltekkes Kemenkes Palembang in Banyuasin Regency, faces a substantial burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), particularly Cancer, Heart Disease, Stroke, and Urological disorders (KJSU). Screening data from the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office in 2025 indicated a high proportion of residents at risk of colon cancer, cardiovascular disease, and stroke. These findings were supported by Poskesdes records through April 2026, which documented 126 cases of cardiovascular disease and hypertension and 38 cases of diabetes mellitus. Two key challenges were identified: (1) limited knowledge among community members and health cadres regarding KJSU prevention and dietary management of NCDs; and (2) insufficient understanding among health cadres and Primary Health Center staff of the transition from the conventional Posyandu model to the Integrated Primary Care (ILP) system, resulting in suboptimal implementation. To address these challenges, an interprofessional community empowerment program involving seven health disciplines was conducted on 17 April 2026, engaging 75 participants, including community members, health cadres, Primary Health Center staff, and village officials. The program combined health education on KJSU and NCD dietary management with cadre mentoring and refresher training on ILP implementation. The intervention enhanced participants' knowledge of KJSU prevention and healthy dietary practices while strengthening cadres' understanding of ILP roles and the importance of integrating Free Health Check services into routine Posyandu activities. These outcomes support the development of a more knowledgeable and self-reliant community in preventing and managing NCDs in Lalang Sembawa Village
Latar Belakang: Kualitas pelayanan didefinisikan sebagai Tindakan atau upaya yang dilakukan oleh individu atau organisasi dengan tujuan memberikan kepuasan kepada pasien (pelanggan) atau karyawan. Evaluasi terhadap kualitas pelayanan dilakukan secara berkala untuk memastikan kepuasan masyarakat. Faktor kualitas pelayanan memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap kepuasan pasien, sehingga perbaikan fasilitas dan sistem pelayanan menjadi langkah penting dalam meningkatkan kepuasan dan loyalitas pasien. Tujuan Penelitian: Menganalisis kualitas pelayanan terhadap kepuasan pasien. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini bersifat analitik menggunakan pendekatan crossectional. Alat ukur yang digunkan yaitu kuesioner menggunakan skala likert. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah accidental sampling. Hasil Penelitian: Kepuasan pasien didapatkan hasil puas dengan nilai 41,9% dan sangat puas dengan nilai 58,1%. Aspek bukti fisik p-value (0,175), kehandalan p- value (0,574), kesigapan p-value (0,419), jaminan p-value (0,072), dan empati p-value (0,175), secara statistik tidak berpengaruh signfikan terhadap kepuasan pasien dalam pelayanan di laborotatorium dengan p-value > 0,05. Kesimpulan: Aspek bukti fisik, kehandalan, kesigapan, jaminan, dan empati secara statistik tidak berpengaruh signfikan terhadap kepuasan pasien dalam pelayanan di laborotatorium dengan p-value> 0,05. tingkat kepuasan, mayoritas responden merasa sangat puas sebanyak 58,1%.
Background: Cervical cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women in Indonesia. Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) is an effective, affordable, and simple screening method. However, VIA coverage remains low, including in Toman Baru Village, Babat Toman Subdistrict, where only 17.6% of women of reproductive age (WRA) have undergone VIA screening. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors associated with VIA screening among WRA in Toman Baru Village. Methods: This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 245 WRA, and a sample of 152 participants was selected using proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with the chi-square test. Results: Univariate analysis showed that 33.6% of WRA had undergone VIA screening. The majority of respondents were under 40 years old (63,2%), had 1–3 children (87,,5%), had low education (91,4%), were employed (52%), and had low knowledge (69.1%). Bivariate analysis showed significant associations between VIA screening and age (p=0,001), parity (p=0,005), education (p=0,034), occupation (p=0,001), and knowledge (p=0,001). Conclusion: Individual factors such as younger age, lower parity, higher education level, employment status, and good knowledge were significantly associated with VIA screening uptake.
Latar Belakang: Perkembangan mikroba di dalam laboratorium membutuhkan medium yang mengandung nutrisi dan menyediakan lingkungan pertumbuhan yang cocok untuk mikroorganisme tersebut. Medium merupakan campuran suatu bahan zat makanan (nutrient) yang berfungsi untuk tepat tumbuhya suatu mikroba. Media dapat mempengaruhi morfologi dan warna dari koloni, terbentuknya struktur tertentu, dan dapat tumbuh atau tidak nya jamur. Semua jamur memerlukan elemen yang spesifik untuk melangsungkan pertumbuhannya.Tujuan Penelitian: Untuk mengetahui uji pertumbuhan jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media alternatif ubi jalar kuning. Metode penelitian: yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan desain penelitian statistic group comparison. Hasil penelitian: didapatkan hasil rerata pertumbuhan jamur Aspergillus flavus pada media ubi jalar kuning konsentrasi 10%, 20%, dan 30% yaitu sebesar 22,5 mm, 26,9 mm, 32,5 mm. Hasil uji statistic menunjukkan ada perbedaan antara rata-rata diameter koloni pertumbuhan Aspergillus flavus pada media media alternatif ubi jalar konsentrasi 10%, 20%, dan 30%. Kesimpulan : dapat disimpulkan bahwa media alternatif ubi jalar konsentrasi 10%, 20%, dan 30% dapat digunakan untuk menggantikan media yang biasa digunakan untuk penanaman jamur Aspergillus flavus. Saran: Disarankan untuk menggunakan konsentrasi yang lebih tinggi ataupun menggunakan jamur dengan spesies yang berbeda.
Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) adalah kelompok nematoda usus yang penularannya melalui tanah. Infeksi STH dapat menyerang semua umur namun angka tertinggi didapatkan pada anak SD yakni 60-80%. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara faktor-faktor risiko dengan infeksi STH. Jenis penelitian ini adalah survey analitik dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional. Pemeriksaan telur cacing menggunakan Metode Kato-Katz. Populasi berjumlah 197 siswa. Sampel siswa sekolah dasar negeri sebanyak 100. Kriteria inklusi adalah siswa kelas 4 dan 5 SDN di Kecamatan Lalan. Kriteria ekslusi adalah bukan siswa SDN kelas 4 dan 5 di Kecamatan Lalan. Pengujian dilakukan dengan uji Chi square dengan alpa 0,05. Hasil penelitian sebanyak 28 (28%) yang terinfeksi STH. Uji Chi-Square ada hubungan antara jenis kelamin (p value 0,016, OR 3,545), kebiasaan tempat defekasi (p value 0,017, OR 3,317), kebiasaan menggunakan alas kaki (p value 0,005, OR 13,50) dengan infeksi STH. Kemudian tidak ada hubungan antara kebiasaan memotong kuku (p value 0,118) dengan infeksi STH.
Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis that most often affects the lungs. It is classified as an airborne disease since it spreads through the air when people with TB cough, sneeze, or spit. Indonesia is one of the countries with the total high TB burden worldwide. The estimated number of people who fell ill because of TB reached 845,000, with a death rate of 98,000, or equivalent to 11 deaths/hour. The control of TB in Indonesia has been carried out for more than seventy years, but Indonesia is still reported as the country with the second-highest TB burden in the world. The long-term use of anti-TB drugs or Multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB), an immunosuppressive agent, can cause fungal infections. Fungal infections can occur in the earlier stage of the disease, but the patients are only given anti-TB drugs. It takes longer for them to recover due to fungal coinfections. The purpose of this study was to find out the frequency distribution of tuberculosis based on the characteristics of patients (age, gender, and type of fungi) and to investigate the statistical distribution of fungi based on the characteristics of sputum i.e color (mucopurulent), consistency (viscosity), and blood presence (hemoptysis). This study used an analytical research design with an observational cross-sectional approach. The samples of this study were sputum taken from 98 patients collected using an accidental sampling technique. The results of the study revealed that, of 98 patients, 81 (82.7%) were adult, 63 (64.3%) were male, 41 (41.9%) were infected with Candida sp, 9 (9.1%) with Aspergillus sp, and 17 (17.3%) with mixed infection. Meanwhile, 31 (31.7%) samples were found negative. In addition, there was no significant relationship between the types of fungi and the characteristics of sputum.
According to WHO, Indonesia is the 2nd country with the largest number of dengue fever cases in the world and the highest in Southeast Asia. In general, dengue fever attacks children or adolescents under the age of 15 years but can also attack adults. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still a health problem in the world, including in Indonesia. The importance of this Community Service activity is the high number of DHF sufferers each year. The purpose of this activity is to provide education to children of SDN 149, Gandus District, Palembang and Parents in Lalang Village, Banyuasin Regency. The participatory method of community empowerment, especially school children, will be given education about DHF. The results of community service activities have very good results by seeing the enthusiasm of school students, cleaners and parents in participating in counseling. There is an ability in students and cleaners and parents to know about mosquitoes that cause DHF in answering every question and answer conducted during the counseling. Pada umumnya DBD menyerang anak-anak atau remaja yang berusia kurang dari 15 tahun namun juga bisa menyerang dewasa. Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) masih merupakan masalah kesehatan di dunia termasuk di Indonesia. Pentingnya kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah masih tingginya angka penderita DBD dalam tiap tahun. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi pada anak-anak SDN 149 kecamatan Gandus Palembang dan Orang Tua di Desa Lalang Kabupaten Banyuasin. Metode partisipatoris pemberdayaan masyarakat khususnya anak sekolah yang akan diberikan edukasi tentang DBD. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat mendapatkan hasil yang sangat baik dengan melihat antusias siswa sekolah, petugas kebersihan dan orang tua dalam mengikuti penyuluhan. Adanya kemampuan pada siswa dan tenaga kebersihan serta orang tua mengetahui tentang nyamuk penyebab DBD dalam menjawab setiap tanya jawab yang dilakukan pada waktu penyuluhan. Keberadaan skabies dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor umur yang paling sering menginfeksi pada anak-anak dibandingkan dengan dewasa, karena daya tahan tubuh yang lebih rendah dari orang dewasa, kurang menjaga kebersihan, dan lebih seringnya mereka bermain bersama anak-anak lain dengan kontak yang erat. Penyuluhan Skabies merupakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam rangka memberikan edukasi kesehatan serta meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan masyarakat. Waktu pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat adalah bulan April 2023. Tempat pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah di Sungai Pedado Kelurahan Keramasan Kertapati. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara luring di lokasi dengan melakukan tatap muka. Sasaran dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah anak usia sekolah yang berada di lokasi kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat. hasil pengetahuan tentang Skabies sebelum dilakukan penyuluhan dan edukasi hasil pre-test baik didapatkan hasil lebih rendah yaitu berjumlah 12 (40%) anak daripada pre-test kurang berjumlah 18 (60%) anak. Post-test dilakukan setelah penyuluhan dan edukasi tentang Skabies terjadi peningkatan jumlah pengetahuan tentang Skabies post-test baik lebih banyak yaitu berjumlah 22 (73%) anak dibandingkan dengan post-test kurang yang berjumlah 8 (27%) anak. Dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat disimpulkan yaitu: Kegiatan penyuluhan pengetahuan anak usia sekolah mengalami peningkatan dari hasil pre-test dan post-test.
Latar Belakang: Pemeriksaaan glukosa darah merupakan pemeriksaan yang sering dilakukan di laboratorium dengan parameter pemeriksaan glukosa darah sewaktu, glukosa darah puasa dan glukosa darah 2 jam PP. WHO telah merekomendasikan untuk menggunakan sampel plasma pada pemeriksaan glukosa darah, antikoagulan yang telah direkomendasikan pada pemeriksaan glukosa darah ini adalah Natrium Fluorida (NaF). Namun, saat ini pemeriksaan glukosa darah dengan menggunakan serum juga masih banyak dipakai dalam pemeriksaan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan hasil pemeriksaan kadar glukosa darah puasa menggunakan serum dan plasma Natrium Fluorida (NaF). Metode: Penelitian ini bersifat analitik observasional, dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2022 dan dilakukan di Laboratorium Kimia Klinik Jurusan Teknologi Laboratorium Medis Poltekkes Kemenkes Palembang. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 36 sampel. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah random sampling. Hasil: Pada penelitian ini rata-rata kadar glukosa darah puasa pada serum adalah 73,31 mg/dL, sedangkan rata-rata glukosa darah pada plasma NaF adalah 76,03 mg/dL. Dari uji statistic t-dependent didapatkan p < α (0,05) yaitu value = 0,000, yang berarti ada perbedaan. Kesimpulan: Adanya perbedaan rata-rata kadar glukosa darah puasa menggunakan serum dan plasma NaF.
Background: COVID-19 is a systemic disease that affects a broad spectrum of tissues and cells. Infected patients experience a wide variety of clinical signs, ranging from mild clinical signs to bilateral interstitial pneumonia. COVID-19 patients who also experience acute respiratory distress syndrome can result in multi-organ failure without comorbidities. Procalcitonin (PCT) also indicates severity and prognosis to reduce mortality. Method: The research method is descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted at the Siti Fatimah hospital in South Sumatra province in February to May 2022. The sample for this research was the results of a PCT examination in 2021 totaling 66 people. The method for examining PCT levels uses the enzyme-linked method with serum or plasma samples. Results: Obtained PCT levels showed that there was a low risk of PCT levels (≥0.05-<0.5) in 26 patients (39.4%), severe risk of PCT levels (≥0.5-<2) in 15 patients (22 .7%) and high risk of PCT levels (≥2) in 25 patients (37.9%). Based on mortality status, high levels were obtained in 43 patients with a low-risk living category in 21 patients. Based on the history of the disease, high levels were obtained in 41 patients with a history of high-risk disease in 18 patients. Based on the category of treatment in the inpatient room, high levels were obtained in 37 patients treated in the non-ICU room, resulting in low-risk PCT levels in 17 patients. Conclusions: There is a 39.4% PCT level (≥0.05-<0.5) which indicates low risk is more common in COVID-19 patients than severe risk and high risk.
ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Antioksidan adalah zat yang diperlukan tubuh untuk menetralisir radikal bebas dan mencegah kerusakan yang ditimbulkannya serta menghambat terjadinya reaksi berantai dari pembentukan radikal bebas yang menyebabkan stress oksidatif. Vitamin C merupakan antioksidan yang baik dan bermanfaat dalam menghambat aktivitas radikal bebas. Vitamin C memiliki struktur yang sama seperti glukosa sehingga vitamin C dapat menggantikannya dalam proses glikolisis nonenzimatik sehingga dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui efek konsumsi suplemen vitamin C terhadap kadar glukosa darah puasa mahasiswa Teknologi Laboratorium Medis Poltekkes Palembang. Metode:Penelitian ini bersifat analitik observasional dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kimia Klinik Jurusan Teknologi Laboratorium Medis Poltekkes Palembang. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 31 sampel yang mana responden diberikan suplemen vitamin C dengan dosis 1000 mg/hari selama 14 hari. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan T-dependen. Hasil:Rata – rata kadar glukosa darah puasa sebelum konsumsi suplemen vitamin C sebesar 75 mg/dL sedangkan rata – rata kadar glukosa darah puasa setelah konsumsi suplemen vitamin C sebesar 78 mg/dL. Dari hasil uji T-dependen didapat hasil p > α (0,05), yaitu p value = 0.225. Kesimpulan:Tidak ada pengaruh konsumsi suplemen vitamin C terhadap kadar glukosa darah puasa Mahasiswa Teknologi Laboratorium Medis Poltekkes Palembang. Besides, it also inhibits chain reactions from forming free radicals that cause oxidative stress. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a good antioxidant for inhibiting free radical activities. Vitamin C has the same structure as glucose so that vitamin C can replace it in the non-enzymatic glycolysis process to reduce glucose levels. Objective: To determine the effect of vitamin C supplement consumption on fasting blood glucose levels in medical laboratory technology students of Palembang Health Polytechnic in 2021. Methods: This study was observational analytic research with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted at the Clinical Chemistry of Laboratory Medical Laboratory Technology, Health Polytechnic of Palembang. Thirty serum samples of the students were taken as research samples. Respondents were given vitamin C supplements at a dose of 1000 mg/day for 14 days. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The data were analyzed by a T-dependent test. Results: The average fasting blood glucose level before taking vitamin C supplements was 75 mg / dL, and the average fasting blood glucose level after taking vitamin C supplements was 78 mg / dL. From the results of the T-dependent test, it was found that p> (0.05), namely p-value = 0.225, which means there is no effect of vitamin C supplement consumption on fasting blood glucose levels of the students of Medical Laboratory Technology, Health Polytechnic of Palembang. Abstrak Pemeriksaan lemak darah seperti kolesterol merupakan salah satu parameter kimia klinik yang berguna untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya peningkatan kadar kolesterol dalam tubuh. Pemeriksaan lemak darah dilakukan dengan mengunakan sampel serum atau plasma. Spesimen yang biasa digunakan sampel serum atau plasma dengan cara dicentifuge dengan kecepatan 3000 RPM selama 5-15 menit. Kenyataan di lapangan sering kali diabaikan oleh beberapa teknisi dengan mengurangi lama waktu sentrifugasi yang bertujuan untuk mempersingkat waktu pemeriksaan. Sampel darah yang disentrifugasi dengan waktu yang tidak tepat akan merusak enzim lipoprotein pada kolesterol. Waktu sentrifugasi yang terlalu singkat akan menyebabkan serum dan zat-zat yang terkandung didalamnya tidak terpisah sempurna dari sel-sel darah sehingga akan menyebabkan hasil rendah palsu, sementara itu waktu sentrifugasi yang terlalu lama selain dapat merusak senyawa lipoprotein juga akan menyebabkan sampel hemolisis. Tujuan Penelitian: untuk mengetahui hasil analisis pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol menurut lama waktu serum sentrifugasi. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini bersifat analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional dan dilakukan di Laboratorium Kimia Klinik Jurusan Analis Kesehatan Poltekkes Kemenkes Palembang. Sampel penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 30 sampel. Analisis data menggunakan One Way Anova. Hasil Penelitian: menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbedaan terhadap kadar kolesterol berdasarkan waktu sentrifugasi dengan p value 0.004 (p<ɑ 0.05) dengan nilai rata-rata hasil pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol yang disentrifugasi selama 5 menit sebesar 180.90 mg/dL, selama 10 menit sebesar 158.73 mg/dL, selama 15 menit sebesar 169.60 mg/dL. Kesimpulan: Adanya perbedaan terhadap kadar kolesterol berdasarkan waktu Sentrifugasi. Kata Kunci : kolesterol, waktu sentrifugasi, kecepatan sentrifugasi
Diseases transmitted by mosquitoes are still a health problem in Indonesia, including in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. Among the various types of mosquitoes that are vectors of the disease, some prefer animal blood. Research on the diversity of mosquitoes has been carried out in the village of Gasing. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the distribution of mosquito diversity in cattle pens and goat pens. The study was conducted with free collection, namely catching mosquitoes that perch in the cage and outside the catching cage starting from 18.00 to 24.00 WIB. Distribution of the diversity of mosquitoes around the cattle pens in six locations obtained 3 genera and 8 species of mosquitoes from a total of 745 mosquitoes caught. Culex gellidus was the most common mosquito found 291 individuals (39.06%). Meanwhile, there were only 10 Aedes aegypti mosquitoes (1.34%) followed by Mansonia Indiana with 11 (1.47%). Based on the time of catching, it was found at 19.01-20.00 WIB as many as 180 fish (24.16%) which began to increase starting at 18.00 WIB. There are fewer cages in a wet environment than in a dry environment. Suggestions for starting a fire around the cage need to be continued and try to keep the cage dry.
Lanjut usia adalah seseorang yang memiliki usia lebih atau sama dengan 55 tahun Komplikasi lansia dengan hipertensi akan berpengaruh ginjal, jumlah nefron ginjal akan berkurang karena mengalami kerusakan. Oleh karena itu, fungsi ginjal akan menurun. Tujuan Penelitian : Untuk mengetahui hasil pemeriksaan Kadar Kreatinin pada Lansia yang Menderita Hipertensi di RS Bhayangkara Palembang. Metode Penelitian Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan secara cross sectional. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Febuari-Mei 2021. Popolasi penelitian ini adalah Semua data yang terdokumentasi lengkap dalam rekam medik dari pasien lansia yang menderita hipertensi yang menjalani pengobatan dan melakukan pemeriksaan kreatinin di Laboratorium RS Bhayangkara Palembang (151 data). Hasil Penelitian : Didapatkan hasil 69 pasien (45,7%) yang memiliki kadar kreatinin normal dan yang memiliki kadar kreatinin tinggi sebanyak 82 pasien (54,3%). Pasien Lanjut usia sangat tua (>90 tahun) didapatkan hasil kadar kreatinin tinggi sebanyak 3 pasien (100%) .laki-laki didapatkan hasil kadar kreatinin lebih tinggi sebanyak 35 pasien (53,8%). sedangkan pada perempuan didapatkan hasil kadar kreatinin tinggi sebanyak 42 pasien (48,8%). Berdasarkan Lama Menderita Hipertensi, kadar kreatinin tinggi pada kategori berisiko (>2tahun) yaitu 64,6% dan pada kategori tidak berisiko(<2tahun) kadar kreatinin tinggi yaitu 42,0%. Kesimpulan : 69 pasien (45,7%) yang memiliki kadar kreatinin normal sebanyak dan yang memiliki kadar kreatinin tinggi sebanyak 82 pasien (54,3%). Saran : Bagi Lansia yang Menderita Hipertensi disarankan untuk mengontrol tekanan darah dan melakukan pemeriksaan rutin sehingga dapat memperkecil risiko komplikasi ke organ lainnya
Background: Lymphatic filariasis is a parasitic disease that is similar to the threads of its habitat in the lymph system that infect humans, namely Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, and Brugia timori. Although B. malayi commonly infects humans, recent evidence also suggests that Brugia pahangi, an afilarial nematode naturally found in cats, can cause clinical infection in humans, with clinical features consistent with lymphatic filariasis. Methods: Cross-sectional with an observational and analytic approach. The results of a positive microscopic examination were carried out by Brugia Rapid Test for B. malayi and PCR examination for B. malayi and B. pahangi. Positive microscopic results were then checked for periodicity of microfilariae every 2 hours for 24 hoursResults: From the research, 17 people were positive for B. malayi microfilariae (mf rate 6.34%). The Brugia Rapid Test had 17 positive results. PCR results of 14 people were positive/formed a band at 322 bp. The results of the sample sequencing were B. malayi species. PCR results of B. pahangi were not found to be positive / band formed in all samples. The periodicity results of microfilaria peaked at 00: 00-04: 00 with the nocturnal periodic type. Conclusions: Lubuk Pauh Village, Musi Rawas Regency is still endemic for malayi filariasis with a high level of endemicity and is not an endemic area for filariasis pahangi. The periodicity of microfilariae indicates a nocturnal periodic type.
ABSTRAK Latar Belakang Lupus Eritematosus Sistemik (LES) merupakan penyakit autoimun multisistem yang mengakibatkan kerusakan organ,jaringan dan sel mediasi karena kompleks imun dan autoantibodi yang berikatan dengan antigen jaringan. LES dapat menyerang satu atau lebih organ, salah satu organ yang banyak diserang adalah ginjal yang dapat menyebabkan komplikasi LES yakni Lupus Nefritis yang memiliki gejala proteinuria. Proteinuria adalah keadaan abnormal dimana jumlah protein dalam urin lebih dari 300 mg dalam urin 24 jam dan 30 mg/dL dalam urin sewaktu. Tujuan penelitian: ini adalah untuk mengetahui frekuensi proteinuria pada penderita Lupus Eritematosus Sistemik (LES) di Palembang tahun 2020, berdasarkan umur, jenis kelamin dan lama sakit. Metode Penelitian: metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Sampel pemeriksaan yang digunakan adalah urin sewaktu. Jumlah sampel penelitian adalah 29 orang pasien LES di Komunitas PLSS Palembang yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Metode pemeriksaan urin menggunakan metode carik celup (dipstick). Hasil penelitian: menunjukkan sebanyak 6 orang (20.7%) positif proteinuria dan 23 orang (79.3%) negatif proteinuria, Dari 6 orang dengan proteinuria positif, berdasarkan umur ada 6 orang (25.0%) dengan umur berisiko (<50 tahun) dan 0 orang (0.0%) dengan umur tidak berisiko (>50 tahun); berdasarkan jenis kelamin ada 1 orang (50.0%) berjenis kelamin laki-laki dan 5 orang (18.5%) berjenis kelamin perempuan; berdasarkan lama sakit, terdapat 4 orang (57.1%) menderita LES <5 tahun,2 orang (9.1%) menderita LES >5 tahun. Dengan demikian disarankan bagi pasien LES untuk menambahkan pemeriksan fungsi ginjal atau urinalisa pada saat melakukan kontrol rutin. Kata Kunci : Proteinuria, Lupus Eritematosus Sistemik, Autoimun ABSTRACT Background: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem autoimmune disease that causes organ, tissue and cell damage due to immune complexes and autoantibodies that bind to tissue antigens. SLE can attack one or more organs, one of the organs that is mostly attacked is the kidney which can cause SLE complications, namely Lupus Nephritis which has symptoms of proteinuria. Proteinuria is an abnormal condition in which the amount of protein in the urine is more than 300 mg in the 24-hour urine and 30 mg/dL in the urine at any time. The purpose of this study: was to determine the frequency of proteinuria in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) in Palembang in 2020, based on age, sex and length of illness. Research Methods: This research method is descriptive with a cross-sectional design. The examination sample used was urine at the time. The number of research samples was 29 SLE patients in the Palembang PLSS Community determined by purposive sampling technique. Urine examination method using the dipstick method. The results: showed that 6 people (20.7%) were positive for proteinuria and 23 people (79.3%) were negative for proteinuria. Of the 6 people with positive proteinuria, there were 6 people (25.0%) with age at risk (<50 years) and 0 people. (0.0%) with no risk age (>50 years); based on gender there were 1 person (50.0%) male and 5 (18.5%) female; based on the length of illness, there were 4 people (57.1%) suffering from SLE <5 years, 2 people (9.1%) suffering from SLE >5 years. ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Stres merupakan respon tidak spesifik tubuh karena adanya tuntutan yang melebihi kemampuan individu tersebut untuk memenuhinya. Saat stres, tubuh akan merespon dengan menstimulasi area hipotalamus untuk menghasilkan hormon epinefrin yang berfungsi untuk mengubah glikogen menjadi glukosa dan norepinefrin yang berfungsi untuk mencegah penurunan kadar glukosa darah. Kondisi stres yang terus berlangsung dapat mengakibatkan kadar glukosa meningkat sehingga dapat menimbulkan risiko hipertensi dan diabetes melitus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan kadar glukosa darah dengan tingkat stres mahasiswa tingkat 3 Program Studi DIII Teknologi Laboratorium Medis (TLM) Poltekkes Kemenkes Palembang tahun 2021. Metode: penelitian ini bersifat analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 9 Februari 2021 di Kampus Jurusan TLM Poltekkes Kemenkes Palembang. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 40 orang yang dipilih berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Pemeriksaan kadar glukosa darah sewaktu menggunakan metode GOD-PAP dan pengukuran tingkat stres menggunakan kuesioner DASS-42. Hasil: rata-rata kadar glukosa darah dengan tingkat stres normal adalah 83 mg/dL, rata-rata kadar glukosa darah dengan tingkat stres ringan adalah 82 mg/dL, rata-rata kadar glukosa darah dengan tingkat stres sedang adalah 83 mg/dL, dan rata-rata kadar glukosa darah dengan tingkat stres berat adalah 81 mg/dL. Dari hasil uji Anova didapatkan nilai p-value = 0.98 atau > 0,05. Ini berarti bahwa tidak ada hubungan antara kadar glukosa dengan tingkat stres mahasiswa. Kesimpulan: tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kadar glukosa darah dengan tingkat stres mahasiswa. When people get stressed, the body will respond by stimulating the hypothalamic area to produce the epinephrine which functions to convert glycogen into glucose and norepinephrine which functions to prevent a decrease in blood glucose levels. Continuous stress can cause glucose levels to increase so that it can increase the risk of hypertension and diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between blood glucose levels and stress levels on the third year students of the Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), a three-year diploma program, Poltekkes Kemenkes Palembang in 2021. Methods: This research is an observational-analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. The research was carried out on February 9, 2021 at the MLT Campus, Palembang. The number of research sample was 40 students who were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The determination of blood glucose levels used the GOD-PAP method and the measurement of stress levels used the DASS-42 questionnaire. Results: the average blood glucose level with stress level of normal, mild, moderate, and severe were 83 mg/dL, 82 mg/dL, 83 mg/dL, and 81 mg/dL, respectively. From the results of the ANOVA test, the p-value = 0.98 or > 0.05. This means that there is no relationship between glucose levels and student stress levels. Background and Aim: Brugia malayi is known to be zoonotically important because it can be transmitted from animals (mammals and primates) to humans or from humans to humans through mosquito vectors. This study was conducted to explore the fauna associated with Malayan filariasis transmission in Sedang village, Suak Tapeh District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional research design with an observational and analytical approach was applied in this study, and it was conducted in May 2018. Mosquitoes were collected twice using human bait both inside and outside the house from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The presence of competitors, predators, and reservoir hosts in the areas of five breeding habitats of Mansonia spp. was observed. The presence of microfilaria was confirmed under a microscope in night blood samples of inhabitants and cats. The presence of infective larvae (L3) of B. malayi was identified microscopically and based on the polymerase chain reaction method in female Mansonia mosquitoes. Results: A total of 12 mosquito species were found, among which Mansonia uniformis was the dominant mosquito, and the predominant competitor was Mansonia annulifera. Dragonflies, as predators were found in two breeding habitats and fish were found in one breeding habitat. The L3 of B. malayi were not identified in the mosquitoes, and the microfilariae of B. malayi were not found in the blood samples of inhabitants and cats. Conclusion: Although Mansonia mosquito population was abundant in Banyuasin Regency, the mosquito was not confirmed as an intermediate host of B. malayi, and the cat was not confirmed as a reservoir of B. malayi in the location.
BACKGROUND AND AIM:Studies to determine abundance, distribution, species composition, and mosquito interactions are very important in understanding the risk of disease transmission to implement appropriate mosquito management in endemic areas. Lymphatic filarial worms are one of the parasites that are contracted and/or transmitted by mosquitoes when sucking the blood of infected humans or animals and then biting others. This research was conducted to study the abundance, species composition, mosquito biting cycles, density and periodicity of mosquitoes caught in Lubuk Pauh Village, Bulang Tengah Suku Ulu, Musi Rawas, South Sumatera, Indonesia, which is an endemic area of zoonotic Brugia malayi. MATERIALS AND METHODS:The mosquito collection was done in July 2018 using the human landing collection method for 11 h from 18.00 pm to 5.00 am Western Indonesian Time. The catching of mosquitoes was done both indoors and outdoors, and mosquitoes were identified under a dissecting microscope using an identification key to confirm their species. Detection of B. malayi larvae in mosquitoes was confirmed by dissection and polymerase chain reaction methods. RESULTS:The caught mosquitoes consisted of four species: Armigeres subalbatus, Culex quinquefasciatus, Culex vishnui, and Mansonia uniformis. Based on the Shannon-Wiener index, Lubuk Pauh Village has low mosquito species diversity (0.210). Ar. subalbatus was the dominant mosquito in Lubuk Pauh Village with dominance number 95.08, and it had the most frequent activity in each of periods of indoor and outdoor collection, with the highest density (man-hour density) at 18.00-19.00 (51.750). B. malayi infective stage larvae were not found in all mosquito species caught. CONCLUSION:Existence of Ar. subalbatus, Cx. quinquefasciatus, and Ma. uniformis in Lubuk Pauh Village which is an endemic area of B. malayi shows that the area is at risk of lymphatic filariasis transmission.
Mansonia uniformis is the main vector of nocturnally sub-periodic Brugia malayi in South Sumatra, Indonesia. In places endemic for mosquito borne diseases, it is necessary for mosquito surveillance system be established and regularly updated. The study determined relative abundance and landing pattern of Ma. uniformis in Sedan Village, Banyuasin, South Sumatra, a Malayan filariasis endemic area. Mosquitoes were collected by a human-landing method indoors and outdoors at six randomly selected houses every hour from 06:00 PM to 05:00 AM for two consecutive nights in May 2018. Mansonia identified morphologically were Ma. annulifera (27%), Ma. dives (1%) and Ma. uniforms (62%), with 1.4 folds higher numbers collected outdoors than indoors. Landing of Ma. uniformis was active soon after dusk and the highest density of indoors and outdoors landing was both 09:00-10:00 PM, with 9 and 8 mosquito /hour / person landing, respectively. Thus, the predominance of Ma. uniformis in Sedan Village indicates a risk of nocturnally sub-periodic Malayan filariasis transmission, and appropriate measures should be taken to prevent mosquito bites and to eliminate breeding sites of this mosquito vector.
