Background:Social media platforms facilitate global discourse on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. Nevertheless, there is a paucity of longitudinal analyses of digitally mediated discussions. Objective:To investigate the evolution of global English-language-dominated discourse on #AIinHealthcare over a three-year period on X (formerly Twitter). Methods:Using Fedica analytics, we analysed 57,880 tweets by 17,991 distinct users across 141 countries from 1 November 2022 to 1 November 2025. This analysis focused on English-language-dominant discourse around #AIinHealthcare (96.9% English), acknowledging hashtag-specific selection bias and linguistic limitations. This study used publicly available anonymised data and followed the ethical guidelines for social media research. Results:The #AIinHealthcare garnered 39.2 million impressions, with significant contributions from high-income countries, notably the United States (40.7%) and Canada (21.0%), as well as India (13.4%; a rapidly expanding economy), collectively accounting for 75.1% of tweets and reflecting hashtag-specific, geographically concentrated engagement. This peaked in mid-2023 and stabilized lower by mid-2025. English was the predominant language of the discourse (96.9%). The community consisted of 74.9% grassroots users with fewer than 1,000 followers, suggesting genuine participation beyond elite influencers. Total engagement reached 72,625 interactions, primarily passive, comprising 68.1% likes, 19.4% retweets, 10.3% replies, and 2.1% quote tweets. Hashtag co-occurrence patterns, supported by qualitative inspection of exemplar tweets, indicated majorly five distinct clusters: foundational technical topics (#GenerativeAI, #ChatGPT, #LLMs) peaked after November 2022; clinical application themes emerged across disease-specific specialties (#Oncology, #Cardiology, #MentalHealth); healthcare implementation themes addressed practical integration (#DigitalHealth, #Telemedicine, #EHR); governance and ethics themes gained prominence (#ResponsibleAI, #AIEthics, #ExplainableAI, #DataPrivacy); and professional integration themes fostered learning communities (#MedTwitter, #MedicalEducation). Sentiment was predominantly neutral (95%), with positive (3%) and negative (2%). Monthly tweets peaked in mid-2023 at 1,600-1,800 before declining to 750-900 per month by June 2025. High-engagement content linked AI to practical applications, governmental initiatives, and clinical breakthroughs. Conclusion:English-language-dominated discourse around #AIinHealthcare reveals hashtag-specific maturation from technical enthusiasm to governance and implementation focus. However, platform access restrictions in countries such as China and Russia may skew geographic representation. Disparities in sustainability discourse remain prevalent.
Aim: This study aims to evaluate the outreach achieved by psychiatry-related posts using the hashtag #YouthMentalHealth, highlighting how social media platforms can shape public discourse on adolescent mental health. Methods: We utilized the Fedica research analytics tool to characterize posts containing #YouthMentalHealth from January 10, 2018, to January 10, 2023. This analysis examined the #YouthMentalHealth activity timeline, identifying the number of posts containing the hashtag and the geographical distribution to assess the effectiveness of hashtag campaigns. Results: The #YouthMentalHealth movement resulted in 58,000 posts shared by around 25,000 X users, generating 292.7 million impressions (views). The top three countries from which most posts containing #YouthMentalHealth were shared included the United States (35.14%), Canada (29.15%), and the United Kingdom (14.37%). The three largest contributor groups were management companies (20.6%), educational advocacy organizations (17.5%), and social advocacy groups (14%). Conclusions: This first-of-its-kind study explores the impact and utilization of #YouthMentalHealth globally, reporting trends and patterns from digital media platforms. By mapping the hashtag’s global footprint, the study offers novel insights into how digital advocacy can amplify youth mental health awareness and connect multidisciplinary stakeholders. These findings contribute to emerging frameworks in digital psychiatry by underscoring the role of social media as a complementary tool for mental health promotion and community engagement, while illuminating diverse strategies to aid the psychiatric community in effectively addressing the mental health needs of adolescents.
Modern biomedical science is characterized by a rapid increase in the volume of scientific publications and the growing complexity of the research landscape, which reinforces the need for quantitative methods of analyzing scientific literature, including bibliometrics. This graphical review aims to systematize the methodological approaches to bibliometric analysis and its areas of application in the health sciences, as well as to present visual guidelines for analyzing the structure, dynamics, and interconnections of the biomedical research landscape. The paper examines the key stages of bibliometric research, from the development of search strategies and data processing to methods of scientific mapping and visualization, which allow the identification of thematic clusters and research trends. The main directions of bibliometric application in the health sciences are systematized, including disease research, clinical trial analysis, pharmaceutical development, public health, precision medicine, digital health, mental health, the study of medical misinformation, and issues related to chronic diseases and population aging. Bibliometric analysis offers a quantitative and scalable approach to exploring scientific literature, enabling the identification of key thematic areas, collaboration networks, and emerging trends in biomedical research. Its limitations include database coverage, language and regional biases, disciplinary differences, citation delays, and the fact that citations do not necessarily indicate endorsement. Future developments in bibliometrics are linked to integrating artificial intelligence, machine learning, and semantic analysis, as well as combining bibliometric methods with systematic reviews to enable deeper insights into scientific knowledge. Thus, bibliometrics represents a powerful tool for analyzing the structure and dynamics of health sciences research and can inform strategic decision-making in science policy and healthcare system development.
BackgroundCommunication is increasingly positioned in patient safety research as a cross-cutting domain influencing multiple care processes. However, its structural organization within the scientific literature remains insufficiently integrated.ObjectiveThis study aims to conduct a large-scale bibliometric analysis of the scientific field linking communication and medical errors and to propose a conceptual communication governance framework integrating the identified communication domains into a coherent structure relevant to healthcare, including nursing practice.MethodsWe conducted a bibliometric analysis of 13,431 publications indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection (search date: 21 February 2026). Publication trends, thematic evolution, keyword co-occurrence, and international collaboration networks were analyzed using Web of Science analytical tools, the bibliometrix R package, and VOSviewer. To ensure robustness, results were cross-validated with an equivalent Scopus dataset.ResultsPublication activity increased exponentially after 2000, exceeding 1,000 publications annually after 2020. Four developmental phases were identified: clinical-descriptive (1964–1999), systemic patient safety (2000–2010), team- and patient-centered (2011–2019), and digital and hybrid communication (2020–2026). Five major thematic clusters emerged: pharmacotherapy safety, teamwork and human factors, information transfer and patient-centered communication, digital infrastructure, and organizational safety culture. The United States, England, and Australia dominated scientific output, with contributions from 139 countries/regions overall. Communication is embedded in multiple patient safety areas across the knowledge network. Cross-database analysis established strong temporal consistency between the Web of Science and Scopus datasets (r = 0.985), with consistent bibliometric patterns across both databases, indicating a stable intellectual structure of the field.ConclusionThe findings suggest that communication is consistently conceptualized in the literature as a multilevel governance domain within patient safety systems. The proposed conceptual communication governance framework provides a structured basis for refining empirical data, developing clinical risk indicators, and conducting safety research involving nurses.
Aim: This study aims to explore the role of the hashtag #EndoTwitter on the social media platform X by examining its geographical distribution, user demographics, engagement patterns, and post sentiments. With the increasing prevalence of endocrine and metabolic diseases, rapid knowledge exchange is essential. #EndoTwitter provides a unique communication medium for healthcare professionals, researchers, advocacy groups, journalists, and patients; however, its impact has not yet been systematically studied. Methods: The Fedica research analytics tool was used to analyze X posts containing #EndoTwitter from July 1, 2019, to July 1, 2023. Parameters assessed included post volume, impressions, sentiment, co-occurring hashtags, and geolocation. Results: A total of 58,392 posts with #EndoTwitter were retrieved from around 21,000 users, generating 46.9 million impressions. These posts originated mainly from the United States (N = 29,546, 50.6%), followed by India (N = 6,567, 11.2%) and Mexico (N = 3,310, 5.7%). The top co-occurring hashtags included #MedTwitter, #Diabetes, and #NAFLD. Sentiment analysis revealed 16% positive sentiment, 8% negative, and 76% neutral among all posts. Conclusions: #EndoTwitter has the potential to foster evidence-based information sharing and inclusive communities, making it a valuable tool for endocrinology advocacy and patient care. Future research should explore specific post content to deepen insights into its impact.
BackgroundPopulation aging and the growing prevalence of chronic diseases pose significant challenges to the global healthcare system and highlight the relevance of issues related to the end-of-life stages. Social media is an important platform for discussing and exchanging views on these issues. This study aims to analyse public discourse on the X platform (formerly Twitter) between 2015 and 2025, based on the text content of posts (tweets) containing the hashtag #AssistedSuicide.MethodsA retrospective analysis was conducted on 105,130 posts containing #AssistedSuicide, published by 28,314 users on X between 2015 and 2025. Data were retrieved via Fedica (20 February 2025) and processed using Python 3. The study included quantitative content analysis, sentiment analysis, geographic distribution mapping, keyword and hashtag analysis, and assessment of legislative discourse and potential amplification patterns.ResultsMost posts (99.1%) were in English. The highest activity was observed in the United Kingdom (39.48%), the United States (29.75%), Canada (13.94%), New Zealand (6.22%), and Australia (3.80%), accounting for 93.19% of all posts. Legislative-related content represented a substantial thematic category (38.7%) and also included issues concerning vulnerable populations. Analysis of frequently occurring words and hashtags shows that the discussion on #AssistedSuicide is multifaceted, polarized, and closely linked to legislative, medical, and social issues. The discourse is characterized by high sensitivity to political events and shifts in tone during periods of legislative activity.ConclusionThis study highlights the value of large-scale social media analysis for understanding public attitudes toward assisted suicide and identifying its ethical, social, and regulatory dimensions. Palliative care remains central to reducing suffering and preserving human dignity. The findings underscore the need for evidence-based policies that ensure protection of vulnerable groups, support healthcare professionals, and promote balanced end-of-life care frameworks.

Engagement with nutritional health information through digital platforms has become increasingly important for market trends and public health communication. This study examined posts containing the terms "nutraceutical" or "nutraceuticals" shared on X (formerly Twitter) over a 24-month period from 1 August 2023 to 1 August 2025. Data collection and analysis were conducted using the Fedica platform analytics, completed on 22 August 2025. The dataset comprises 82,804 individual posts from 61,527 unique user accounts, with a total of 19,348,499 impressions. Posts originated from 170 countries, with the USA contributing 55.93% of the activity, followed by India (20.01%), and Canada (4.03%). Lexical analysis identified stem cells, peptides, and psychedelics as the most prevalent terms, whereas hashtag co-occurrence analysis highlighted key themes related to health, wellness, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and nutritional content. Discussions about nutraceuticals have focused on specific compounds, such as cannabidiol (CBD; n=1,211), nattokinase (n=923), and protein extracts (n=596). The posts demonstrated a high potential for amplification, averaging 234 impressions per post, indicating a strong capacity for information dissemination. This analysis reveals that discussions on the X platform on nutraceutical products form a globally distributed communication network with concentrated user participation from economically developed regions and major emerging markets. The findings underscore the role of the X platform as a key channel for exchanging dietary supplement information and emphasise considerations for stakeholders in nutritional product marketing, health communication, and regulatory oversight.
BackgroundIn the context of the active implementation of the World Health Organization’s Global Patient Safety Action Plan, there is a growing need for a comprehensive synthesis of scientific evidence reflecting the development of research in the field of healthcare professional education.ObjectiveThis study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications addressing the relationship between healthcare professional education, medical errors, and patient safety over the period 2000–2026, based on the Web of Science and Scopus databases, to identify global trends, stages of development, and key thematic clusters of research in the digital era.MethodsThe analysis was based on publications that met the search criteria and were indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases (2000–2026, as of April 27, 2026). Analytical tools provided by the databases, the bibliometrix R package, and VOSviewer software were used. Scientific productivity, citation metrics, contributions of leading journals and research institutions, keyword bursts and co-occurrence, as well as thematic structure, were analyzed.ResultsA total of 17,457 publications that met the inclusion criteria were included in the analysis. A sustained increase in publication activity was identified. Four stages of development were defined: formation (2000–2008), rapid growth (2009–2014), thematic diversification (2015–2018), and interdisciplinary integration (2019–2026). Cluster analysis revealed four key research areas: educational strategies and competency development; healthcare systems and quality management; human factors and the epidemiology of medical errors; and medication safety. An increase in the number of publications devoted to simulation-based learning, interdisciplinary education and digital technologies was identified.ConclusionA steady increase in publication activity, expansion of thematic areas, and strengthening of the interdisciplinary nature of research in the fields of medical education, medical errors, and patient safety were identified. This reflects the growing attention of the scientific community to issues considered among the WHO’s key patient safety priorities. The obtained results allow us to identify promising areas for further research, including the development of clinically relevant indicators linking educational interventions with patient safety outcomes, further exploration of educational programs aimed at supporting mental health, well-being, and preventing burnout in healthcare workers, and exploring the application of new technologies, including artificial intelligence, in medical education and patient safety.
Background: The main theme of research literature on burnout has yet to be investigated. Aims: This bibliometric study evaluated the research literature on burnout and health, indexed in Web of Science (WoS), to reveal its expansion and the most prolific authors, institutions, countries, journals, and journal categories. The recurring themes of the literature were also identified. Methods: In December 2023, the WoS Core Collection database was queried with: TS = [(“burnout*” OR “burn out*” OR “burn-out*”) AND (“health*” OR “illness*” OR “disease*” OR “well-being*” OR “wellbeing*”)]. The search yielded publications with these words presented in their title, abstract, or keywords. No filter was placed to restrict the search. Publication and citation counts were recorded directly from the database, whereas subsequent analyses were performed with VOSviewer. Results: The search yielded 26,492 publications. The literature has been growing steadily in the 2000s and more quickly in the 2010s. Nearly one-third of the publications had contributions from the United States. The most prolific journals involved some open-access mega-journals and journals from psychology, medicine, and nursing. Depression and anxiety associated with burnout were recurring themes in the literature. The research community has been explaining burnout by the highly cited Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model. Discussion: This work demonstrated the usefulness of a bibliometric analysis to identify key stakeholders and major themes of burnout research.
Aim: This manuscript summarizes the key scientific and practical outcomes of the #DHPSP2024 digital networking event, focusing on emerging trends in digital health technologies, innovations in patient safety, and their implications for improving healthcare delivery. Methods: The #DHPSP2024 event was held from June 18 to 20, 2024, on X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn, connecting professionals and stakeholders in digital health and patient safety from different sectors. Data from posts on X and LinkedIn were analyzed for geographical distribution, engagement metrics (impressions, likes, shares), top hashtags, and frequently used terms. A qualitative analysis of the central themes and key online messaging discussions of the network event was also conducted. Results: On X, 2,329 posts by 179 participants from 38 countries generated over 231,000 impressions, with the most activity in Austria, China, and India. LinkedIn engagement included 3,475 likes, 217 comments, and 2,030 shares. Both platforms highlighted core themes such as digital health, patient safety, treatment quality, research on natural compounds, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Online messaging discussions emphasized technologies like telemedicine and artificial intelligence as critical tools for enhancing care delivery and patient safety. Participants also promoted special issues of scientific journals and explored collaborative research opportunities. Conclusions: The #DHPSP2024 event underscored the pivotal role of digital technologies in transforming healthcare, particularly in improving the quality and safety of interventions. The findings demonstrate how digital networking events, grounded in open innovation, foster global research communities, accelerate knowledge exchange, and support the integration of clinically relevant digital solutions. The strong engagement reflects growing interest in leveraging digital platforms to advance health outcomes and professional development. Overall, the event contributed to greater visibility of ongoing research, encouraged interdisciplinary cooperation, and may positively influence both the adoption of innovations in healthcare practice and the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
LinkedIn, despite its large and professionally credentialed user base, remains an underexplored platform for digital health communication, unlike X (formerly Twitter), which has been widely studied for health-related hashtag trends. Health literacy, a key determinant of public health, is increasingly promoted through social media hashtags such as #HealthLiteracy. However, to date, no studies have systematically examined how this hashtag is used on LinkedIn. This study aimed to analyze the use of #HealthLiteracy on LinkedIn, identify thematic patterns in post content, and evaluate user engagement trends, with comparisons to prior X-based research. A one-week retrospective dataset of #HealthLiteracy posts was collected using the SingleFile browser extension. The content was cleaned and analyzed using RStudio with standard text mining packages. Word frequencies, co-occurring hashtags, and engagement metrics (likes, comments, reposts) were extracted, and a chi-square goodness-of-fit test was performed to assess engagement distribution. A total of 370 posts with 3,174 engagements were analyzed. The most frequent co-occurring hashtags included #agedcare, #residentialagedcare, and #healthquality, indicating a focus on institutional eldercare. The most common words, care, aged, solutions, and transition reinforced this thematic alignment. Engagement was primarily passive, with reactions far outnumbering comments and reposts. This study establishes a proof-of-concept for LinkedIn-based hashtag analysis in health research. LinkedIn demonstrates strong potential for targeted dissemination of health literacy content to professionals and policymakers, although engagement strategies may need to be tailored to the platform's predominantly passive interaction culture.
The microbiota, comprising all the microorganisms within the body, plays a critical role in maintaining good health. Dysbiosis represents a condition resulting from an imbalance or alteration of the microbiota. This study comprehensively investigates the patent literature on dysbiosis over the past 20 years.
BACKGROUND:Social media has been extensively used by the public to seek information and share views on health issues. Recently, the proper and off-label use of semaglutide drugs for weight loss has attracted huge media attention and led to temporary supply shortages. OBJECTIVE:The aim of this study was to perform a content analysis on English YouTube (Google) videos related to semaglutide. METHODS:YouTube was searched with the words semaglutide, Ozempic, Wegovy, and Rybelsus. The first 30 full-length videos (videos without a time limit) and 30 shorts (videos that are no longer than 1 minute) resulting from each search word were recorded. After discounting duplicates resulting from multiple searches, a total of 96 full-length videos and 93 shorts were analyzed. Video content was evaluated by 3 tools, that is, a custom checklist, a Global Quality Score (GQS), and Modified DISCERN. Readability and sentiment of the transcripts were also assessed. RESULTS:There was no significant difference in the mean number of views between full-length videos and shorts (mean 288,563.1, SD 513,598.3 vs mean 188,465.2, SD 780,376.2, P=.30). The former had better content quality in terms of GQS, Modified DISCERN, and the number of mentioned points from the custom checklist (all P<.001). The transcript readability of both types of videos was at a fairly easy level and mainly had a neutral tone. Full-length videos from health sources had a higher content quality in terms of GQS and Modified DISCERN (both P<.001) than their counterparts. CONCLUSIONS:The analyzed videos lacked coverage of several important aspects, including the lack of long-term data, the persistence of side effects due to the long half-life of semaglutide, and the risk of counterfeit drugs. It is crucial for the public to be aware that videos cannot replace consultations with physicians.
Background: Respiratory tract infections are a common health issue, driving interest in preventive strategies like nutritional supplements, while evidence on their usage and effectiveness remains limited. In this context, social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), provide a unique opportunity to gather large-scale public health-related data. Objectives: In this study, we aimed to survey participants’ uses and opinions on nutritional supplements in prevention or treatment of respiratory tract infections, by using X. Methods: A survey was conducted between 1st and 15th December 2022. A single open-ended question “Which are the best dietary supplements to counteract respiratory infections?“ was asked. One week after the start of the survey, a poll was posted to get more relevant information and boost the survey’s reach. Total endorsements were calculated for each tweet posted as the total sum of replies, retweets, and likes. Results: The open-ended question received a total of 118 retweets, 39 quotes, and 371 likes, while the poll received 56 retweets, 13 quotes, and 67 likes. A total of 495 replies, 2,251 retweets, 5,118 likes, and 148 quotes were received for the question and its related tweets. Vitamin D (1,607 endorsements), zinc (1,347 endorsements), vitamin C (803 endorsements), magnesium (694 endorsements), and honey (661 endorsements) were the nutritional supplements that received most endorsements. Conclusion: Various foods, drinks, and natural ingredients have been suggested as potentially helpful for counteracting respiratory infections. Approximately half of respondents indicated using such supplements for themselves. The result of this study supports the idea that the X platform can be used as an effective survey tool to study global health-related behaviours and trends.
This article presents a patent and bibliometric analysis of the scientific landscape of the use of graphene-based biosensors and their prospects in the field of digital medicine.A study of patent activity in the field of graphene biosensors (2005–2025) showed an increase in interest, especially since 2015, with a peak in 2021, with China, the U.S., and the World Intellectual Property Organization as the most active offices. Web of Science revealed 16,551 articles, with active growth since 2010, focusing primarily on analytical chemistry, nanotechnology, and electrochemistry. China and India lead the way in research.Bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer identified four key clusters reflecting the main research directions of graphene biosensors: medical diagnostics, integration with digital technologies, the use of metals and nanomaterials, and analytical methods in biosensor technologies. The distribution of keywords over time analyzed with VOSviewer and CiteSpace indicates increasing digitalization in graphene biosensor research from 2020, underscoring the growing interest in flexible, highly sensitive sensors and their integration with digital platforms for diagnosis and analysis.Despite the high potential of graphene biosensors, there are challenges pointed out in the literature, such as scaling, biocompatibility, and cost issues, as well as the need to address safety and reliability concerns.
Aim: This study aimed to identify and analyze the top 100 most cited digital health and mobile health (m-health) publications. It could aid researchers in the identification of promising new research avenues, additionally supporting the establishment of international scientific collaboration between interdisciplinary research groups with demonstrated achievements in the area of interest. Methods: On 30th August, 2023, the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) electronic database was queried to identify the top 100 most cited digital health papers with a comprehensive search string. From the initial search, 106 papers were identified. After screening for relevance, six papers were excluded, resulting in the final list of the top 100 papers. The basic bibliographic data was directly extracted from WOSCC using its “Analyze” and “Create Citation Report” functions. The complete records of the top 100 papers were downloaded and imported into a bibliometric software called VOSviewer (version 1.6.19) to generate an author keyword map and author collaboration map. Results: The top 100 papers on digital health received a total of 49,653 citations. Over half of them (n = 55) were published during 2013–2017. Among these 100 papers, 59 were original articles, 36 were reviews, 4 were editorial materials, and 1 was a proceeding paper. All papers were written in English. The University of London and the University of California system were the most represented affiliations. The USA and the UK were the most represented countries. The Journal of Medical Internet Research was the most represented journal. Several diseases and health conditions were identified as a focus of these works, including anxiety, depression, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Conclusions: The findings underscore key areas of focus in the field and prominent contributors, providing a roadmap for future research in digital and m-health.
Adverse drug reactions continue to be not only one of the most urgent problems in clinical medicine, but also a social problem. The aim of this study was a bibliometric analysis of the use of digital technologies to prevent adverse drug reactions and an overview of their main applications to improve the safety of pharmacotherapy. The search was conducted using the Web of Science database for the period 1991–2023. A positive trend in publications in the field of using digital technologies in the management of adverse drug reactions was revealed. A total of 72% of all relevant publications come from the following countries: the USA, China, England, India, and Germany. Among the organizations most active in the field of drug side effect management using digital technologies, American and Chinese universities dominate. Visualization of publication keywords using VOSviewer software 1.6.18 revealed four clusters: “preclinical studies”, “clinical trials”, “pharmacovigilance”, and “reduction of adverse drug reactions in order to improve the patient’s quality of life”. Molecular design technologies, virtual models for toxicity modeling, data integration, and drug repurposing are among the key digital tools used in the preclinical research phase. Integrating the application of machine learning algorithms for data analysis, monitoring of electronic databases of spontaneous messages, electronic medical records, scientific databases, social networks, and analysis of digital device data into clinical trials and pharmacovigilance systems, can significantly improve the efficiency and safety of drug development, implementation, and monitoring processes. The result of combining all these technologies is a huge synergistic provision of up-to-date and valuable information to healthcare professionals, patients, and health authorities.
Background Cannabis and its derivatives show encouraging therapeutic effects in the treatment of various diseases. However, further studies are needed to better assess their efficacy and safety. A promising base for research in the field of medicine and additional pharmacovigilance is social networks, in which experience and knowledge are exchanged between researchers, doctors, and patients, as well as information about the potential risks and benefits of using drugs for medical purposes is disseminated. The aim of this study was to investigate the reported efficiency and safety of medical use of cannabinoids in patients using posts on the social media Instagram and analyze the observed trends.Methods Social media listening platform Apify was used to collect data with hashtags as of June 4, 2024, including posts from 2023 and 2024, with some data extending into later periods, in compliance with a systematic approach to data collection. The analysis of the data obtained from the research was conducted using the RStudio platform.Results The analysis covered 1,466 posts containing hashtags related to cannabinoids. The posts studied were categorized as follows: 33.08% focused on advertising and commercialization, 25.58% on personal experience, 21.35% on other topics, and 19.99% contained educational content. An analysis of overall content relevance found that the majority of Instagram posts (81.79%) related to cannabis and cannabinoid hashtags are relevant. Most of the Instagram posts studied were posters, followed by personal photos and videos. The analysis shows that English dominates the studied category (70.74% of posts), while German, French, Spanish, and other languages also occupy a significant place, emphasizing the importance of a multilingual approach in content analysis. It has been revealed that organizations publish a larger percentage of posts under this study, with a higher percentage of relevance. Personal experience stories receive a significant number of "likes" indicating a strong emotional connection between audience and content. Instagram discussions about cannabinoid treatment support evidence from scientific studies about their effectiveness in treating a range of diseases, such as epilepsy with Lennox-Gastaut and Dravet syndromes, multiple sclerosis, cancer, and HIV-cachexia, nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. At the same time, they emphasize the need for further clinical studies to better assess safety, side effects, and optimal dosages. Advertising and commercial posts can contribute to increased cannabis use, highlighting the need to raise awareness of risks and strengthen preventive measures.Conclusion Analysis of content on the social media Instagram can complement traditional scientific research by providing information on the real use of cannabis and its derivatives, contributing to the development of safe and effective recommendations for its use.
