Warthin tumor is the second most frequently seen benign tumor of the salivary glands and is generally located in the parotid gland. Although extraparotideal manifestations in the small salivary glands are rare, the occurrence of cystic lesions in the area of the nasopharynx, eyelid, oral cavity or vestibular folds should include the Warthin tumor in the differential diagnosis. The therapy of choice is complete surgical tumor resection.

Der Warthin-Tumor ist der zweithäufigste gutartige Tumor der Speicheldrüsen und manifestiert sich meist in der Ohrspeicheldrüse. Ein extraparotideales Auftreten im Bereich der kleinen Speicheldrüsen ist selten, sollte aber bei Raumforderungen im Bereich des Nasopharynx, des Augenlids, der Mundhöhle sowie der Taschenfalten differenzialdiagnostisch in Betracht gezogen werden. Die Therapie der Wahl ist die komplette chirurgische Entfernung des Tumors.
