Objective:To evaluate the effects of Yuzhuoqing Granules made in the method of removing blood stasis and tonifying liver and kidney on sexual function in male hypertensive patients.Methods:82 patients were randomly divided into treatment group [42 cases treated with Nifedipine GITS in 30 mg/d+Metoprolol Succinate in 25 mg(bid)+Yuzhuoqing Granules in 1 bag(tid)] and control group [40 cases treated with Nifedipine GITS in 30 mg/d+Metoprolol Succinate in 25 mg(bid)].The changes in blood pressure,sexual function assessment and safety assessment of two groups were observed.Results:After treatment,the total antihypertensive effective rate was 84.81% in treatment group and 80.26% in control group,and there was no significant difference between two groups(P0.05);the erectile function,libido scores and total satisfaction of treatment group all had very significant differences compared with those before therapy(P0.01),and the intercourse satisfaction(IS) had significant difference compared with that before therapy(P0.05);any other parameter had significant difference compared with that of control group after therapy,except for ability to achieve orgasm(P0.05,P0.01);The ED incidence of control group after therapy increased from 25.50% to 32.50%,and it had very significant difference compared with that before therapy(P0.01),and the ED incidence of treatment group and control group were 26.18% and 16.67% respectively,thus they differed statistically(P0.01);there was very significant difference between two groups(P0.01).Conclusion:Yuzhuoqing Granules can improve sexual function in male hypertensive patients and can improve their quality of life,in addition to antihypertensive efficacy.
