The endemic betta fish (Betta dennisyongi) was a species of freshwater ornamental fish native to Indonesia which has been successfully domesticated but it has low survival rate and growth. One way to increase the survival rate and growth of farmed fish is by administering turmeric probiotics. This study aims to analyze the best dosage of turmeric probiotics to increase the survival rate and growth of domesticated betta fish. This research was carried out experimentally. The treatments were control, turmeric probiotic 1.5 mL 100 grams feed, turmeric probiotic 3 mL 100 grams feed, turmeric probiotic 4.5 mL 100 grams feed. The parameters tested during the research were survival rate, daily growth rate, and feed conversion ratio and water quality. The analysis of variance test on the data was analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program with a 95% confidence interval. Treatments that are significantly different will be further tested using the Duncan test to determine the best treatment. The results of the study showed that giving turmeric probiotics for survival rate gave results that had a significant effect (P<0.05) but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the growth of betta fish. The use of turmeric probiotics 3 mL 100 grams feed can increase weight gain, length gain and survival rate of domesticated betta fish.
Kecamatan Meureubo memiliki potensi perikanan budidaya air tawar yang potensial untuk dikembangkan. UD. Sonia Ratu merupakan usaha budidaya ikan yang berfokus pada kegiatan pembesaran benih ikan lele. Usaha budidaya ikan ini masih mengandalkan sistem budidaya secara konvensional sehingga produktivitas budidaya belum maksimal. Peningkatkan produktivitas budidaya ikan dapat dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi akuaponik sistem rakit apung. Teknologi akuaponik sistem rakit apung yaitu kegiatan budidaya yang menggabungkan antara budidaya ikan dengan tanaman. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah memperkenalkan teknologi akuaponik rakit apung bagi pembudidaya ikan lele di Kecamatan Meureubo sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas usaha budidaya ikan lele UD. Sonia Ratu. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi dan bimbingan teknis secara langsung tentang teknik pembuatan akuaponik sistem rakit apung. Materi yang disampaikan pada kegiatan edukasi meliputi manfaat, cara pembuatan, konsep penggunaan hingga praktek langsung pembuatan dan pengaplikasian langsung akuaponik. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah pembudidaya ikan UD. Sonia Ratu mendapatkan pemahaman mengenai metode budidaya dengan teknologi akuaponik sistem rakit apung. Peningkatan pemahaman pembudidaya ikan sebesar 35% berdasarkan hasil test yang telah dilakukan. Pembudidaya ikan mendapatkan keterampilan cara pembuatan akuaponik dan mengaplikasikan langsung rangkaian akuaponik ke dalam kolam pemeliharaan ikan. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pemahaman dan keterampilan usaha budidaya ikan UD Sonia Ratu terhadap metode budidaya dengan menggunakan akuaponik sistem rakit apung.
The catch of bileh fish (Rasbora sp.) has been caught from nature. Continuous fishing will lead to extinction in its habitat. Efforts made to anticipate this are carried out in the cultivation process. In fish farming, feed has a role as a source of nutrition for the growth process and survival of fish to be cultivated. Feed needs to support growth must have the right or appropriate nutritional content. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of adding tarum leaf meal (Indigofera zollingeriana) added to the feed by looking at the growth rate and survival of bileh fish (Rasbora sp.). This study used a complete randomized design (CRD), which consisted of four treatments then each treatment was repeated three times. The treatment.ie P0: control, P1: 10%, P2: 20%, and P3: 30% additional needle leaf flour. The test parameters observed were weight gain, length gain, feed conversion ratio, specific growth rate and survival. The results ANOVA test showed that the feed added with tarum leaf flour had a significant effect (P<0,05) on length increase and specific growth rate, and there was no significant effect (P>0,05) on weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and survival.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak jahe (Zingiber officinale) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri aeromonas hydrophila dan bakteri vibrio alginolyticus secara in vitro. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2022 bertempat di Laboratorium Kesehatan Ikan Balai Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BPBAP) Ujung Batee. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), dengan 5 perlakuan yaitu: Perlakuan A= Kotrol Positif, Perlakuan B= Kotrol Negatif, Perlakuan C= Ekstrak Jahe 5%, Perlakuan D= Ekstrak Jahe 10%, Perlakuan E= Ekstrak Jahe 15%. Tahapan kerja dalam penelitian meliputi persiapan alat dan bahan, pembuatan ekstrak jahe, bakteri uji, kultur bakteri dari agar miring ke media padat, proses kultur cair bakteri Aeromonas hydrophila dan Vibrio alginolyticus, proses pengujian, dan mengkur zona hambat. Parameter yang diukur adalah zona hambat bakteri. Data dianalisi secara statistik. Ekstrak jahe mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri vibrio alginolyticus berdasarkan, namun tidak memberi pengaruh terhadap bakteri Aeromonas hydrophila.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan tingkat serangan ektoparasit yang menyerang kepiting bakau cangkang lunak yang dibudidayakan di Kecamatan Meuraxa. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan April hingga Mei 2022. Sampel kepiting bakau cangkang lunak dikumpulkan sebanyak 20 ekor dari petani pembudidaya di Desa Gampong Pie dan Cot Lamkuweuh Kecamatan Meuraxa. Selanjutnya, sampel dibawa ke Laboratorium Parasit Stasiun Karantina Ikan, Pengendalian Mutu dan Keamanan Hasil Perikanan Blang Bintang, Kabupaten Aceh Besar untuk dilakukan pengamatan ektoparasit menggunakan mikroskop. Parameter kualitas air yang diukur pada lokasi pengumpulan sampel meliputi suhu, salinitas dan oksigen terlarut. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua jenis ektoparasit yang menyerang kepiting bakau cangkang lunak yang dibudidayakan di Kecamatan Meuraxa yaitu Octolasmis sp. dan Strongyloides stercorali. Nilai prevalensi serangan ektoparasit tertinggi adalah sampel yang berasal dari Desa Gampong Pie yaitu jenis Octolasmis sp. dengan nilai sebesar 70% (kategori biasanya/infeksi sedang). Sedangkan tingkat intensitas ektoparasit tertinggi adalah Octolasmis sp. yang ditemukan dari sampel asal Desa Gampong Pie dengan nilai 2,78 ind/ekor. Parameter kualitas air yang diukur di lokasi budidaya masih berada pada kisaran optimal yaitu suhu sebesar 25-27oC, salinitas 25,2-19,9 ppt dan oksigen terlarut 5,1-7,7 mg/L.
This study aimed to determine the effect of caffein with various doses on the survival rate and gorwth of galah shrimp (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). This research using completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications. Caffeine is given through the feed at a doses 0,0; 0,5; 1,0; 1,5; and 2,0 g caffein/kg feed. The result showed that applied caffein in commercial feed has a significant effect (P < 0,05) on the survival rate of galah shrimp. And no significant effect (P > 0,05) on absolute weight growth and relative growth rate of galah shrimp. Survival rates range from 35% - 80%, absolute weigh growth range from 0,4 – 0,46 g and relative growth rate range from 1,05 – 1,31% / days. The best treatment is P5 (2 g caffein/kg feed) with an 80% survival rate; and 0,46 g absolute weight growth; and 1,31% / days relative growth rate. pH range from 6,4-7,4; temperature range from 25-30 oC. The results of these water quality parameters indicate normal water quality for galah shrimp survival.
AbstractSnakehead fish (Channa sp.) is one of Indonesia's native freshwater commodities that has been successfully domesticated by fish farmers, yet the domesticated snakehead fish culture still has problems, namely the low survival and growth of local snakehead fish. Overcoming this problem requires a technology that can optimize the survival and growth of the domesticated snakehead fish (Channa sp.). One technology that can be applied is the use of probiotics. This reserach aimed to examine different probiotics through feed to optimize the survival and growth of domesticated snakehead fish (Channa sp.). This research was conducted with an experimental method. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were control treatment (P0), treatment with probiotic composition of Lactobacillus sp., Bacillus spp. and Nitrosomonas sp. (P1), treatment with probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (P2), and treatment with probiotic composition of Lactobacillus sp., Acetobacter, Rhodobacter sp., yeast (P3). The results showed that different probiotic feeding had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the survival parameters and different probiotic feeding compositions had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the growth parameters. The composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae probiotics is the best probiotic composition to increase survival and growth of domesticated snakehead fish.Keywords: Domestication, Growth, Survival Rate, Probiotic
This study aims to determine the effect of using different poultry manure as a medium for its culture. The method used in this study is an experimental design using a random design with four treatments and three replications. The factors tested were the addition of different poultry manure such as without the addition of poultry manure (P0), the addition of free-range chicken manure (P1), the addition of laying hen manure (P2), and the addition of quail manure (P3). The results of ANOVA analysis using SPSS 20.0 showed that the addition of different poultry manure had a significant effect on the absolute biomass of tubifex worms. Duncan test results showed that the absolute biomass of tubifex worms in the P3 treatment (addition of quail manure) was significantly different from the other treatments. In addition, the media added with quail manure produced the highest absolute biomass (243,33 gram) compared to other treatments.
This study aimed to examine the effect of the insecticide diazinon on the hatchability of fish eggs. The research method used a completely randomized design method which included 4 treatments with 3 replications, namely P0 (control) P1 (0.4 ml/L), P2 (0.35 ml/L), and P3 (0.3 ml/L). The test parameters included fecundity, egg hatchability, larval abnormalities, and water quality. The results showed that the highest fecundity in this study contained 10,357 items. The highest egg hatchability was found in treatment P3 with 0.3% higher concentration (79%) and treatment P2 had hatchability values (57%), P1 (40%) and P0 (44%). The highest abnormality was found in the P0 treatment (control), which was 0.03%. While the water quality at the time of the study was still tolerable by fish larvae.
Beutong District is one of the sub-districts in Nagan Raya Regency with an area of 1,017.32 Km2. The topography of Beutong District supports the cultivation of freshwater fisheries. The purpose of this service activity is to educate and apply the provision of probiotic technology made from local ingredients to increase production performance and the health status of economically important freshwater aquaculture fish. The method used in this activity is an educational method and application of probiotic technology made from local raw materials for economically important freshwater fish. The program begins with educating about the concept of using probiotic technology made from local ingredients, how to make probiotics made from local ingredients, methods of giving probiotics made from local ingredients and ending with training on good fish farming. Monitoring and evaluation will also be carried out to see the level of independence of fish farmers in applying the science and technology that has been taught and the sustainability of the program as well as the obstacles during this program. The result of this service activity is that probiotic technology made from local ingredients is effectively applied to economically important freshwater fish farming.
Siamese pangasius fish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) is a freshwater fish species originated from species introduced and has economic value for cultivation. This study aimed to analysed the administration of different commercial probiotics through feed on the survival rate and feed efficiency of Siamese pangasius fish. This research was conducted in the hatchery of Teuku Umar University. The method used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were control/administration of Mina Pro (P0) commercial probiotic, administration of Raja Grameh (P1) commercial probiotic, administration of EM4 (P2) commercial probiotic and administration of Boster (P3) commercial probiotic. Parameters observed were survival, feed efficiency, and water quality. Data were analysed using analysis of variance; for different treatments, Duncan's test was carried out. The results showed that the administration of different commercial probiotics had a significant (P<0.05) effect on feed efficiency but had no significant effect (P>0.005) on the survival rate of Siamese pangasius fish. Raja Grameh's commercial probiotic with the composition of Rhodobacter sp., Lactobacillus sp., Acetobacter sp., and yeast were the best commercial probiotic to increase the growth and feed efficiency of Siamese pangasius fish
Income of fishers in West Aceh District usually fluctuating, indicate by the small of number of catches of fisherman. Another thing that has a negative impact on the economy fishermens households is the Covid-19 pandemic. Limited land is a problem for fishermen’s families, previously fishermen’s wives drying salted fish to increase their income. One of the tips is to apply fish cultivation technology on limited land with the Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) system. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge to a group of fishermen’s wives about fish farming based on the IMTA system. The method used is the socialization of IMTA system fish farming, IMTA system fish pond construction training, production management guidance, training on production performance analysis and marketing strategy, monitoring and evaluation. Integrated fish cultivation training activities for groups of fishermen’s wives received positive support and response from group partners. This activity is very beneficial for houswives because they get new skills to increase economic income. This program is a solution for fishermen’s families during uncertain economic conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This group activity will be an inspiration and model for other fishermen’s wives to do fish farming in limited land and water sources.
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui optimasi pembelahan sel dan suhu kejutan terhadap tingkat keberhasilan triploid ikan serukan (Osteochilus sp.) dengan pemberian suhu kejut yang berbeda terhadap derajat pembuahan, derajat penetasan, tingkat keberhasilan triploid, laju pertumbuhan harian dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup larva ikan serukan (Osteochilus sp.). Pada penelitian ini umur zigot yang digunakan 20 menit setelah fertilisasi, lama kejutan 2 menit dan suhu kejutan 40,41, dan 42 ̊C. larva dipelihara selama 14 dengan pemberian kuning telur dan Artemia sp. secara Adlibitum dengan frekuensi pemberian 2 kali sehari. Wadah penelitian yang digunakan toples dengan volume 2,5 Liter air sebanyak 12 Unit yang dilengkapi dengan aerasi. Jumlah larva sebanyak 15 ekor /ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa larva ikan yang diberi kejutan panas yang berbeda memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap derajat pembuahan 49,3±6,9% dengan suhu kejut 41°C, derajat penetasan 49,2±11,1% dengan suhu kejut 41°C, tingkat kelangsungan hidup 84,4±7,6% dengan suhu kejut 41°C, laju pertumbuhan harian tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) 5,15±1,0% dengan suhu kejutan 41°C dan tingkat keberhasilan triploid 60% dengan suhu kejut 42°C.
The purpose of the research is to obtain the most desirable zygote age for the triploidization process using heat shock and to determine the growth performance of Seurukan fish breed as triploidized. The method used in this study is experimental method with a completely randomized design model, through 4 treatments, and 3 replications. P0: Normal spawning (control) P1: Temperature 42°C, zygote age 15 minutes old, temperature shock duration 2 minutes. P2: Temperature 42°C, zygote age 20 minutes old, temperature shock duration 2 minutes. P3: Temperature 42°C, zygote age 25 minutes old, temperature shock duration 2 minutes. The preferable hatching was found in P3 treatment with a zygote age of 25 minutes old and immersed duration for 2 minutes which was 91.27%. In addition, the highest survival rate was found in the control treatment which was 89.98% and the percentage of triploids successfulness was found in P2 with a zygote age of 20 minutes old and an immersed duration for 2 minutes which was 60%. The results present that the triploidization of Seurukan fish through a temperature shock of 42oC for 2 minutes at the zygote age of 20 minutes old after fertilization succeeded in inducing triploid fish. The optimum treatment that able to produce the highest triploid (60%) with a survival rate of 81.1% is a temperature shock of 42oC for 2 minutes at the zygote age of 20 minutes old after fertilization.

The increasing demand for snakehead fish on the market has resulted in the addition of cultivated land and water use. Aquaponics technology was a combination of fish farming and plants that grow without soil media. The aim of this research was to determine the best composition of probiotics that can be used in aquaponic technology to optimize growth rate and feed conversion of snakehead fish ( Channa sp.). This research used an experimental method. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with four probiotic combination treatments and each treatment was repeated three times. The results showed that awarding of different probiotic compositions in the aquaponic system resulted in a spesific growth rate that was not significantly (P>0.05) different between treatments. The highest value of spesific growth rate were in the treatment of probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a value of 4.11%/ day. Awarding of different probiotic compositions in the aquaponic system results in significantly (P<0.05) different feed conversion ratio values. The best feed conversion ratio values were in the treatment of probiotic composition of Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a value of 1.78. The conclusion of this study was the composition of probiotic Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae was the best probiotic composition to increase the spesific growth rate and feed conversion ratio of snakehead fish.
The objective of the present study was to evaluate the application of a combination of gamal leaf flour and eggs in commercial feed on the feed quality and feed efficiency of nirwana tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The completely randomized design method was used in this study with four treatments and four replications. The treatments studied were pellet without application of combination of gamal leaf flour and eggs (P0), pellet with combination gamal leaf flour 10 % / kg of feed and eggs (P1), pellet with combination gamal leaf flour 15 % / kg of feed and eggs (P2) and pellet with combination gamal leaf flour 20 % / kg of feed and eggs (P3). Nirwana tilapia fish seed stocking density was 1 individu/l with the length of 3-4 cm. The culture period of fish farming was 50 days. The ANOVA test showed that the commercial feed with the application of a combination of gamal leaf flour and eggs gave significant effect on the feed efficiency and specific growth rate of nirwana tilapia. The highest feed protein content was obtained in the P1 treatment of 30.17%. The smell of feed produced in all treatments tended to be strong and brown. The durability of feed in water which was almost close to control was treatment P1. The best dose to increase feed quality, feed efficiency and of nirwana tilapia seed is pellet with combination gamal leaf flour 10 % / kg of feed and eggs (P1).
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat motilitas dan viabilitas sperma ikan serukan dengan suplementasi mineral Seng (Zn) Anorganik ZnSO4.7H2O. Metode penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Empat suplementasi yaitu 0, 100, 200, dan 300 mg Zn Kg-1 pakan. Ikan uji yang digunakan adalah induk ikan serukan jantan sebanyak 120 ekor (10 ekor/wadah) dengan bobot rata-rata 40-50 gr. Ikan dipelihara dalam keramba jarring tancap berukuran 1 m3 selama 60 hari. Parameter yang diamati yaitu volume (ml), motilitas (%) dan viabilitas sperma (%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi mineral Seng (Zn) anorganik ZnSO4.7H2O memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap volume, motilitas dan viabilitas sperma ikan serukan (P>0,05). Suplementasi 200 mg Zn Kg-1 pakan menunjukkan hasil terbaik dibangdingkan perlakuan lainnya. Keseluruhan parameter terlihat meningkat dengan selisih volume 0,3 ml, motilitas 20% dan viabilitas sebesar 13% dibandingkan perlakuan kontrol.
