1Integrating Fintech and Technological Innovation to Strengthen Digital Entrepreneurship and Reduce Unemployment in Cilacap
Indra Rachmawati, Nursanti Dwi Yogawati, Annisa Rahayu Pangesti, Syarifah Aini

This study examines how technological innovation and financial technology support job creation in the MSME sector of Cilacap Regency, with digital entrepreneurship serving as a mediating variable. The re-search addresses the ongoing gap between strong MSME growth and limited employment absorption at both the national and regional levels. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combines survey-based quantitative analysis using Structural Equation Modeling with qualitative insights from interviews that clarify technology adoption patterns, barriers to fintech use, and challenges in digital literacy. The find-ings indicate that innovation and fintech adoption positively affect job creation directly and through digital entrepreneurship, demonstrating the value of digital transformation for small business growth. However, these gains are constrained by unequal access to digital tools, limited technological readiness, and persistent literacy gaps among MSME actors. The study underscores the need for targeted digital em-powerment efforts, expanded access to technology, and stronger capacity-building programs to enhance MSME competitiveness. Strengthening digital skills and improving fintech utilization can support broa-der employment opportunities and contribute to regional economic resilience. These measures are essential for ensuring that digital transformation produces inclusive benefits, enables sustainable MSME development, and strengthens the overall capacity of local enterprises to generate stable employment in the region.

3Transgressions on Students and Faculty of Color in Higher Education
    Milton A. Fuentes, Casey R. Shannon,Muninder K. Ahluwalia, Crystal S. Collier

This chapter considers transgressions that students and faculty of color face in higher education. Specifically, the chapter examines how implicit bias and microaggressions affect the experiences of students and faculty of color. Special attention is paid to strategies that prevent or address these transgressions from both personal and contextual approaches. The chapter ends with a thought-provoking case study that portrays the multifaceted dimensions of these troubling transgressions in the classroom and provides the reader with some reflection questions to consider.

5Is Digital Money an Alternative to Conventional Money in the Asian Emerging Economy Context of the Pandemic?
Rituparna Das, Harish Chandan,Mononita Kundu Das

Scant opportunity for using money during the period of the corona pandemic has prompted the public to search for an alternative to conventional or fiat money. Digital money can be an alternative for those few with adequate purchasing power and education. However, the inability of the conventional monetary system to track the use of every coin and paper note of the fiat money in an emerging economy causes cavities in the database of transactions in a sizable informal sector. As a result, the use of digital money and its associated tools may not be able to yield the desired results in the absence of computer literacy, financial inclusion and technology-oriented mindset of the entire population in a continent like Asia. Here, only half of the population can afford to use mobile internet, though the pandemic has stimulated digital banking and payments. This chapter offers an overview of the nature and use of cryptocurrency and its compatibility with the smooth functioning of macroeconomic systems of some of the Asian emerging economies, such as Cambodia.
