This study aims to analyze the implementation of health communication strategies as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting communication effectiveness in the Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) prevention program at the Wonokusumo Community Health Center (Puskesmas) in Surabaya. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation involving healthcare workers, health volunteers (kader), and community members participating in the DHF prevention program. The results indicate that the health communication strategy is executed through health counseling, "3M Plus" socialization, fogging, mosquito larva inspection, environmental cleanup, and the empowerment of larva monitoring volunteers (jumantik) and the Kampung Surabaya Hebat (KSH) volunteers. This communication strategy is implemented participatively and collaboratively by involving schools, local neighborhood heads (RT/RW), health volunteers, and the surrounding community. Supporting factors for the strategy's effectiveness include cross-sector cooperation, the active involvement of health volunteers, and interpersonal communication that is easily understood by the public. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include low participation from some community members, a lack of consistency in maintaining environmental cleanliness, and limitations in health promotion media. This study concludes that a health communication strategy based on community participation and health volunteer empowerment can successfully increase public knowledge, awareness, and participation in DHF prevention within densely populated urban areas. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen health communication media and provide continuous education so that the DHF prevention program can run more effectively and sustainably.
The development of digital technology has brought changes in various fields, including the business sector. These changes encourage many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to shift from offline sales systems to digital marketplaces. This transition not only changes the way businesses sell their products but also affects the pattern of communication with consumers. This study aims to examine the adaptation process of business communication among MSMEs during the transition from offline to digital marketplaces, the changes in communication patterns, and the supporting and inhibiting factors in the process. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that MSMEs have shifted their communication patterns from face-to-face interactions to digital communication through chat features, product descriptions, and customer reviews. Fast responses and communicative language also play an important role in building consumer trust. However, several obstacles are still encountered, such as low digital literacy and limited ability to manage digital communication. Therefore, the ability to adapt business communication becomes an important factor in improving the competitiveness of MSMEs in the digital era.
The high proportion of blank votes in the 2024 regional election in Gresik Regency reflects an important phenomenon in local democratic participation, particularly in uncontested elections. Despite the increasing occurrence of blank voting in Indonesia, empirical evidence explaining how public dissatisfaction with incumbent performance influences this behavior remains limited. This study aims to examine the effect of public dissatisfaction with incumbent performance on the propensity to vote for the blank box. A quantitative research design was employed using data from 150 respondents selected through quota sampling from five sub districts Sidayu, Bungah, Manyar, Ujungpangkah, and Kebomas which recorded the highest proportion of blank votes in the election. Data were collected through structured Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multinomial logistic regression. The findings indicate that the model demonstrates a good fit, with a significant Omnibus Test (p < 0.001) and Pearson and Deviance statistics exceeding 0.05. Public dissatisfaction has a statistically significant effect on the likelihood of voting for the blank box (Exp(B) = 1.687, p < 0.001). These findings extend rational choice theory by demonstrating that, in uncontested local elections, blank voting represents a rational mechanism of electoral accountability rather than merely political apathy. This study provides empirical evidence that public evaluations of incumbent performance constitute a significant determinant of blank-box voting in single-candidate local elections, thereby enriching the understanding of electoral behavior in uncontested democratic contests. The study contributes to the literature on electoral behavior by highlighting public performance evaluation as an important determinant of blank voting in local elections.
Teachers’ digital readiness is often treated as a uniform construct, limiting understanding of how knowledge, attitudes, and self-concept combine to create distinct patterns of readiness for digital integration. This study identified latent readiness profiles among 259 primary school teachers. Results revealed three profiles: high, moderate, and low, confirming substantial heterogeneity. High readiness reflected strong technological-pedagogical integration, positive digital attitudes, and aligned creative identity and self-efficacy, whereas low readiness showed lower levels across these domains. The moderate profile represented a transitional stage and a key target for professional development. Age, teaching experience, and gender significantly predicted profile membership.
