The presence of the gig economy tries to break through barriers for women so that women can improve their abilities and participate actively in the workforce. This research aims to analyze the influence of job characteristics through family support which is moderated by the perception of a low barrier to entry on women's willingness to become a gig worker among married women. The sample in this study was 200 married female gig workers. The data collection technique used a Likert model questionnaire which was analyzed using Partial least Square SEM to analyze the seven hypotheses proposed. The results of the research show that job characteristics have a significant direct effect on family support and women's willingness to become gig workers. Family support also has a significant direct effect on women's willingness to become gig workers. Job characteristics also have a significant indirect effect, mediated by family support, on women's willingness to become gig workers. Perception of low barrier to entry moderates the relationship between job characteristics and family support and perception of low barrier to entry moderates the relationship between family support and women's willingness to become a gig worker. However, the perception of a low barrier to entry does not moderate the relationship between job characteristics and women's willingness to become a gig worker.
This study addresses the critical question of how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance, through the specific lenses of Islamic Corporate Social Responsibility (ICSR), Sharia Governance, Sharia Compliance, and Zakat, influences the financial stability of Islamic banks in the ASEAN region. The primary objective is to identify which of these Sharīʿah-based ESG factors significantly impact bank soundness, measured by the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). Employing a quantitative approach, the research utilizes dynamic panel data regression (Arellano-Bond GMM) on a sample of Islamic banks from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam over a five-year period (2018–2022). The results reveal a clear distinction: while ICSR, Sharia Governance, and Zakat show no statistically significant effect on stability, Sharia Compliance emerges as a pivotal and significant determinant. This leads to the conclusion that strict adherence to operational Islamic principles is the cornerstone of financial resilience for these institutions, whereas other ethical and governance mechanisms remain strategically disconnected from capital adequacy management. A key limitation of this study is its focus on a limited number of banks and specific variable measurements. Its contribution lies in providing evidence-based insights for regulators and bank management to prioritize and strengthen Sharia Compliance frameworks as a core stability tool. Future research should develop more nuanced Islamic finance ESG indicators and explore these relationships across broader geographical and temporal contexts.
This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer on the effectiveness of policymaking, with organizational learning as a mediating variable, among leaders of private universities accredited at least “Very Good”. The study used a quantitative, explanatory survey design. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale from 93 structural officials of private universities and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The results showed that knowledge sharing had a positive and significant effect on policymaking effectiveness, whereas knowledge transfer did not show a significant direct effect. However, both knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer were found to have a positive effect on organizational learning, which, in turn, significantly affected policy effectiveness and mediated the relationship between the knowledge variables and policy effectiveness. These findings confirm that policy effectiveness is not only determined by the availability or transfer of knowledge, but is highly dependent on the organization’s ability to manage learning collectively. This study provides theoretical contributions to the Knowledge-Based View and practical implications for strengthening learning-based governance in private universities.
