Urban transit disruptions increasingly trigger citizen complaints on social media, yet multilingual and platform-specific discourse in the Global South remains difficult to analyze computationally. This study examines Instagram-based grievances following Surabaya transit service disruptions during the 2025-2026 New Year period. Using computational discourse analysis within a critical discourse orientation, the study analyzed 134 public comments from a government operator account and an independent civic forum through sentiment classification, thematic clustering, and multivariate modeling. Results show that negative sentiment concentrated around limited operating hours, unreliable service, weak institutional communication, and perceived governance accountability deficits. Thematic content explained sentiment variation with an exploratory pseudo-R² of 0.42, although fair human-model agreement (Cohen's κ = 0.36) and small sample size require cautious, hypothesis-generating interpretation. The findings indicate that the disruption exposed structural problems in temporal accessibility, operational reliability, information provision, and leadership accountability. The study proposes "Digital Informal Accountability" to describe platform-mediated citizen oversight that extends social accountability theory by linking citizen voice with expectations of state responsiveness in urban public service delivery.
Purpose This study analyses existing research on how business models connect with social enterprises. Through a bibliometric analysis, it highlights critical themes and identifies gaps, focusing on how business models can help achieve both social and economic goals. Design/methodology/approach The authors analysed 363 articles from Scopus and Web of Science using bibliometric techniques. In addition, the authors conducted a qualitative literature review based on bibliometric mapping using VOSviewer to uncover relationships between terms and map out the main themes within the topic. Findings The main findings reveal a network of current topics as they appear in publications, along with issues closely related to them, namely, business, strategic management, hybrid organisations, value creation and design. The results also highlight emerging topics related to design innovation, performance, community development and economy, management and scalability, entrepreneurial competency and a sustainable circular economy. Research limitations/implications This research is limited by the use of limited data sources and the limitations of literature data collection. Future research must provide broader empirical evidence on the application of various business models by social enterprises and the extent of their impact on the sustainability of business and society. The paper discusses limitations and boundary conditions. Practical implications The business model issues found in this study can be used by social enterprises as parameters for designing appropriate business models. Social implications By encouraging the development of innovative business models, this study supports social enterprises in creating meaningful social impact by balancing financial objectives with social benefits. Originality/value This study adds to the social enterprise literature by mapping key themes and research gaps. It also offers a theoretical foundation for future research on business models in the context of social enterprises.
This study aims to analyze the influence of loyalty and competence of human resources on the performance of personnel of the Tuban Police Samapta Unit with promotion as a mediation variable. The type of research used is associative research with a quantitative approach. The research sample consisted of 78 respondents, and data analysis was carried out using Smart PLS (Partial Least Square) software. The objectives of the study included the description of loyalty, HR competence, position promotion, and personnel performance, as well as testing the direct and indirect influence between variables. The results of the study showed that loyalty had a significant positive effect on personnel performance, as well as HR competence. HR loyalty and competence were proven to have a positive effect on position promotion. Position promotion itself had a significant effect on personnel performance. In addition, position promotion was proven to significantly mediate the influence of loyalty and HR competence on personnel performance. These findings confirm that increasing the loyalty and competence of human resources not only has a direct impact on performance, but also strengthens job promotion opportunities which ultimately increases the effectiveness of personnel performance. This research provides practical implications for police management in designing a human resource development strategy oriented towards loyalty, competence, and a fair position promotion system.
This quantitative study examines the influence of emotional intelligence and organizational culture on employee performance at the Pamekasan Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency, with job promotion as an intervening variable. The research involved 43 respondents and aimed to analyze both direct and indirect relationships among emotional intelligence, organizational culture, job promotion, and employee performance. The findings indicate that emotional intelligence does not have a significant direct effect on employee performance, so the first hypothesis is rejected. However, emotional intelligence significantly affects job promotion, supporting the second hypothesis. Organizational culture has a significant effect on employee performance, indicating that the third hypothesis is accepted. Meanwhile, organizational culture does not have a significant effect on employee performance, leading to the rejection of the fourth hypothesis. Job promotion has a significant effect on employee performance, supporting the fifth hypothesis. Furthermore, emotional intelligence has a significant indirect effect on employee performance through job promotion, so the sixth hypothesis is accepted. Organizational culture also shows a significant indirect effect on employee performance through job promotion, although the seventh hypothesis is stated as rejected.
