The present study aims to evaluate the identity of the city in order to contribute to the develop-ment of strategies and action plans aimed at improving its image and positioning as a tourist destination. A mixedmethods approach was employed, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews and personal surveys. These were applied to local stakeholders involved in tourism and heritage, using a nonprobability sampling method based on expert judgment, and a structured questionnaire built around attributes and indicators of urban identity as a tourist destination. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS software. The study iden-tified eight attributes and 54 key indicators for evaluating the urban identity of Matanzas as a case study. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the results. Respondents highlighted the bridges, rivers, and the bay as the city's main identity features. Although most attributes were considered highly important, the current state of the city was predominantly rated as negative or neutral, particularly in political, social, economic, and urban morphology aspects. The affective component of the identity showed neither a clearly defined nor positive characterization. These findings point to the need to strengthen distinctive attributes and indicators through urban mar-keting straegies, that is, to implement actions aimed at recovering and enhancing the city's pos-itive identity to improve its positioning in relevant tourism markets.
Public policies are an instrument of governments to solve social problems and represent the way to exploit local endogenous resources. The Cuban policies are aimed at diversifying the tourist offer, with special emphasis on forms such as health tourism. The present study aimed to propose a model of public policies for the management of health tourism at local level. A mixed methodology was used. The study was defined as exploratory, descriptive and explanatory; the methods of analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, literature review, document analysis, survey and the Delphi method were used. The analysis of methodological background led to the elaboration of a new proposal adapted to the characteristics of the Cuban local context. The objective, principles and premises underpinning the tool were established, as well as the fundamentals of the components and their nterrelationships, which contributed to its graphical modelling, and the tool was validated by the evaluation of a team of experts. It was found to be necessary and relevant based on the gaps identified in the scientific literature regarding the design of public policies for health tourism at the local level
The cultural landscape as a heritage category encompasses a diversity of manifestations and specific techniques for sustainable land use, characteristics of the natural environment, and a spiritual-emotional relationship with nature. The Colombian Coffee Cultural Landscape, a World Heritage Site inscribed on the World Heritage List for its exceptional universal values, finds in educational institutions an important ally for its conservation through heritage education with a socio-emotional focus. This approach highlights the importance of heritage, as well as the role of emotions and community participation in its appreciation and preservation, embedded within the process of heritagization. The research focuses on a mixed-method study with a descriptive/explanatory design, based on the use of empirical and theoretical methods, which, combined with the authors' experience, allowed for the proposal of a model as an alternative for heritage education with a socio-emotional focus for educational actors in the Coffee Cultural Landscape: the SER+CAF & Eacute; Model. This innovative model contributes to the need for continuous training of teachers and administrators in this heritage context. The model integrates the spheres of human development (personal, social, and transcendent) into five dimensions (Conscious, Managerial, Relational, Collective, and Transcendent) with content specific to coffee culture. It includes experiential workshops for its implementation, aimed at strengthening the appropriationof local heritage with greater awareness of the values of the Coffee Cultural Landscape and a renewed sense of belonging and motivation.
The Proteus simulator is presented as a didactic alternative for achieving practical learning in basic electronics, allowing the creation, simulation, and verification of circuits without the need for physical components. The general objective of this research is to implement a didactic strategy using the Proteus simulator to improve academic performance and develop practical skills in the teaching of basic electronics to third-year students of the technical industrial baccalaureate at the Sucre Educational Unit. The research was conducted using a mixed-methods, applied approach with a quasi-experimental, cross-sectional design. Theoretical methods were applied to support the conceptual analysis and the design of the strategy, along with empirical methods such as student surveys and teacher interviews, and statistical analyses including Cronbach's alpha, R-squared, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. The didactic strategy was implemented and designed using Proteus, yielding significant results in student perceptions before and after the intervention, both in transversal skills such as logical thinking, problem-solving, and autonomy, as well as in skills associated with practical abilities, performance, and meaningful learning. The average perception scores increased from 2.11 to 4.17, and variable 7, practical learning, had the most solid and consistent results in the entire study, showing very strong correlations with all procedural variables.
