As public art enters the digital era, technology empowerment activates the potential of interactive subjectivity contained in the digital public art. On the basis of the existing interpretations on the concept of “theatricality” raised by Michael Fried, the paper introduces this concept to the study on the interaction contained in public art, so as to explore the interactive significance from three layers of people, object and place: the paper starts from the interaction with works and moves on to explore the meaning construction of works. After that, the paper sees through the aesthetic side of digital public art,and analyzes the complicated daily dialogue and identification. By doing so, this paper aims to reveal the evolution of the public basis of digital public art in interactive behaviors and relationships.
Interactive narrative is dynamic and constructive. The paper focuses on three types of interactive narratives: interactive narratives driven by participant body data and physiological signals,interactive narratives driven by participant manipulation of digital avatar agency practices, and interactive narratives implemented based on body geographical location. The research and analysis of the three interactive narratives indicate that the interactive behavior of symbiosis between people and media makes the narrative construction of digital art show the characteristics of experience, event, contingency,space and emergence.
