Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value in differentiation benign or malignant lesions from breast neoplasms using real-time tissue elastography(RTE) and color Doppler ultrasound (CDUS) . Methods Three hundred and fifty-two breast neoplasms were investigated by RTE and CDUS. Sensitivity,specificity and overall accuracy of CDUS, RTE and combined CDUS and RTE were determined using pathologic results as the gold standard. Results The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of combined RTE and CDUS were 94.8 %,95.6% and 95.5%. The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy was 79.3%,88.8%,87.2%respectively using singly RTE. The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy CDUS achieved was 81.0%,85.4%,84.1% respectively.The combined CDUS and RTE achieved higher diagnostic value than CDUS or RTE used singly in breast neoplasms differential diagnosis(P﹤0.05). Conclusion Combined RTE and CDUS has advantage in differential diagnosis of breast neoplasms.
Objective:To assess the value of color Doppler ultrasonography in classification and diagnosis of Budd-Chiair Syndrome(BCS).Methods: The direct and indirect symptoms of color Doppler ultrasonography in 51 patients with BCS were analyzed.And all of them were classified based on the blockage of inferior vena cava and hepatic vein.All cases were confirmed by inferior vena cava angiogram or surgery.Results: The inferior vena cava and(or) hepatic vein were found membranous or fibrous stenosis even occlusion or embolism,in which inferior vena cava was found in 22cases,hepatic vein in 9 cases and both of them are found in 16 cases.4 cases were failed to diagnose.In this group the accuracy of color Doppler ultrasonography was 92.2%(47/51).This was corresponded to inferior vena cava angiogram or surgery.Caudate lobe hypertrophy and collateral circulations were all important indirect signs.The 4 misdiagnosed cases were all obstructed in inferior vena cava,which were related to the insufficient awareness of diagnosis and limitations of ultrasonic imaging.Conclusion: Color Doppler ultrasonography can diagnose and classify different types of BCS exactly,which should be the initial diagnosis procedure for Budd-Chiari syndrome.
Objective:To review the mechanism of berberine in reducing blood sugar,and provide a reference for the study of berberine.Methods:Relevant literatures on the mechanism of berberine in reducing blood sugar of type 2 diabetes in recent years were collected,analyzed,summarized and concluded.Results:Berberine reduced the blood sugar mainly by improving insulin resistance,inhibiting gluconeogenesis,increasing energy consumption and activating AMPK.Conclusion:Berberine has the characteristics of multi-channel and multi-target in the aspect of reducing blood sugar.
The article is summarizing TCM clinic research of hematuria of chronic glomerulonephritis in lately decade,including pathogeny,pathogenesis and treatment,prescription of chronic GN.This disease usually caused by heat damaged the collateral,viscera (liver,spleen or kidney) qi and yin deficiency couldn't control the blood and blood spilled the vein or blood stasis which caused by qi deficiency couldn't move the blood.Syndrome differenciation,classical prescription were commonly used in traditional chinese medicine treatment with certain effect,such as the way of nourishing yin and clearing heat、cooling blood and hemostasis,Reinforcing spleen and kidney,tonifying qi andyin,promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis,and on the base of previous experience,a part of Chinese patent drug and yraditional Chinese medicine injections also had obvious clinical effect.
Objective:To assess the effect of combined treatment of Chinese medicine and western medicine on diabetic nephropathy(DN).Methods:Randomized or semi-randomized controlled trials(RCT or CCT) which compared combined treatment of Chinese medicine and western medicine with western medicine alone were collected.The methodological qualities of included studies were evaluated and meta-analysis was performed.Results:69 Chinese RCTs and 1 CCT were included in this review.All trials were classified as grade C.The results of meta-analysis demonstrated that compared with western medicine alone,combination with Chinese medicine could significantly decrease the urinary albumin excretion rate,the 24-hour urinary albumin excretion,the 24-hour urinary protein excretion,blood urea nitrogen and serum.
Objective To assess the effect of Chinese herbal medicine on hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia of diabetic nephropathy(DN) . Methods Randomized or semi-randomized controlled trials(RCT or CCT) which compared combined treatment of Chinese medicine and western medicine with western medicine alone were collected.Meta-analysis was performed. Results 56 Chinese RCTs and 1 CCT were included in this review.All trials were classified as grade C.The results of meta-analysis demonstrated that compared with western medicine alone,combination with Chinese medicine could significantly decrease fasting blood glucose(WMD=-0.65,95%CI(-0.90,-0.40) ,P<0.000 01) ,glycosylated hemoglobin(WMD=-0.42,95%CI(-0.71,-0.14) ,P=0.004) ,cholesterol(WMD=-0.91,95%CI(-1.16,-0.66) ,P<0.000 01) and triglyceride(WMD=-0.51,95%CI(-0.68,-0.35) ,P<0.000 01) . Conclusion Chinese herbal medicine showed an encouraging comparative effectiveness on hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia of DN.But the poor methodological quality of included studies seriously weakened the validity of the meta-analysis.More RCTs with higher qualities are required.

Objective To discuss the normal relationship between regional and global left ventricular function. Methods The regional and global volumes and functions were investigated by real-time three-dimensional echocardiography in 31 healthy volunteers without cardiovascular diseases. Results RT-3DE datasets with ideal global and regional volume-time curves were acquired in 30 volunteers. Seventeen segments had significant difference in contribution to the global left ventricular function, which increased from apical to basal segment gradually (P<0.05). The contribution to global systolic function increased from apex, anterior wall, interventricular septum, lateral wall to inferior wall(P<0.05)and the contribution to global diastolic function increased from apex, anterior wall, interventricular septum, inferior wall to lateral wall(P<0.05). Conclusion The effects of left ventricle segment to global function have heterogeneity.
Purpose: The analysis of left ventricular function is important in choice and monitoring the therapeutic procedures for patients with cardiovascular diseases.The aim of the current study was to assess the feasibility and accuracy of real-time three-dimensional echocardiography(RT-3DE) in quantifying left ventricular volumes-time curve.Materials and Methods: With cardiac magnetic resonance imaging(CMRI) as a reference,RT-3DE was undertaken in 31 healthy volunteers with left ventricular function parameters assessed,such as left ventricular peak ejection rate(PER) and peak filling rate(PFR).The parameters obtained via left ventricular volumes-time curve using RT-3DE and CMRI independently were compared.Results: A clear-cut endocardium image was obtained by both RT-3DE and CMRI in all but 1 volunteer.A complete RT-3DE data acquisition and analysis took much shorter time than CMRI.PER,PFR assessed by RT-3DE had no differences and correlated well with that by CMRI.Conclusion: RT-3DE was proven a feasible and accurate method for analysis of left ventricular volumes-time curve.
Objective Compared with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI),to assess the feasibility and accuracy of real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT-3DE) in quantifying left ventricular (LV) volumes and ejection fraction (EF).Methods 31 healthy volunteers without cardiovascular diseases were investigated.Left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV),end-systolic volume(ESV),stroke volume(SV) and EF were obtained by RT-3DE and CMRI independently and blinded to each other.Results ①Acquisition of RT-3DE and CMRI datasets with good endocardium image was feasible in all except 1 volunteer.The durations of a complete RT-3DE data acquisition and analysis were much shorter than CMRI.② LVEDV、LVESV、SV and EF obtained by RT-3DE correlated highly with CMRI(r=0.946、0.939、0.950、0.947),however,LV volumes were underestimated by RT-3DE compared with CMRI(P=0.000).The difference for EF was not significant between the two methods(P=0.250).③ For RT-3DE,intra- and inter-observer variability were acceptable,and repeatability was excellent,r value between 0.903 and 0.947.Conclusions RT-3DE allows accurate determination of left ventricular function.Its feasibility and accuracy suggests applicability of the method for the patients with cardiovascular diseases.
