Rice (Oryza sativa L.), a cereal crop, plays an ultimately important role in the global food production. The occurrence of the rice disease and pest such as the rice blast (RB) and the brown planthopper (BPH) can seve-rely damage the safe production of rice, and the development and application of the resistant varieties can prevent the occurrence of the rice disease and pest economically and effectively, so the development of the resistant variety is crucial in the safe production of rice. In this study, we used the disease resistant line 75-1-127 carrying rice blast resistant gene Pi9 as the disease-resistant parent, the BPH-resistant line C4064 harboring brown planthopper resistant gene Bph18(t) as the BPH-resistant parent, and the elite restoring line Ce679 as recurrent parents, to hy-bridize, backcross, selfcross and field select for multiple generations. The Pi9-linked SCAR marker pB8 was used to select Pi9, and the Bph18(t)-linked marker KC16 was used to select Bph18(t) in the segregating populations. By molecular marker-assisted selection, evaluation of agronomic traits and assay of resistance, we developed restorer lines which pyramided Pi9 and Bph18(t) genes, and which demonstrated the similar level of resistance against rice blast and brown planthopper as compared with the disease-resistant parent or the BPH-resistant parent.

Objective The present study was conducted to screen rice materials pyramiding brown planthopper and rice blast genes for providing reference on breeding new rice germplasms with resistance against brown planthopper (BPH) (Ni-laparvata lugens Sta°l) and rice blast caused by the fungus Magnaporthe grisea. Method By using conventional breeding, molecular marker-assisted breeding and BPH resistance bioassay, BPH resistance genes viz., bph20(t) and bph21(t), and the broad-spectrum and highly resistant blast resistance gene Pi9 were pyramided into the genetic background of an elite main-tainer line BoIIIB. ResultThe molecular markers RM540 and BYL7 for bph20(t), as well as RM5348 and RM222 for bph21(t), could not amplify specific bands and showed no obvious polymorphism among the resistant parents and susceptible parents, so they could not be used in molecular marker-assisted selection of the present breeding population. The dominant molecular marker pB8 and codominant molecular marker PB9-1 for Pi9 could amplify specific bands and showed polymorphism among the resistant parents and susceptible parents, and could be used in the molecular marker assisted selection of the present breeding population. The marker PB9-1 was used for PCR amplification of 22 rice plants in BC 6 F2 population after insect resistant identification, It was found that 10 plants was heterozygote with Pi9 gene, 6 plants was homozygote and 7 plants had no Pi9 gene. By insect resistant identification using rice plants susceptible to brown planthopper and rice blast in field of Nanning, a series of rice plants against to brown planthopper, and 5 accessions had Pi9 gene and resistance to rice blast among 6 accessions with equivalent resistance of parent BPH54. Conclusion By using conventional breeding, molecular detection and insect-disease resistance bioassay, 5 accessions of above resistant rice intermediate materials pyramiding brown planthopper genes and rice blast gene, which could provide germplasm meterials for breeding new double resistant maintainer line and sterile line.

Field experiment was conducted to explore the characteristics of yield component and dry matter production of three-line rice Teyou 679 with Guiliangyou 2 and Teyou 63 as the control in 2011.Results indicated that compared with Guiliangyou 2 and Teyou 63,Teyou 679 revealed more effective panicles,less grains per panicle and harmony yield component,and showed less dry matter accumulation,greater dry matter transportation after heading and greater harvest index.Teyou 679 had equal yield with Guiliangou 2 and 12.7% more yield than Teyou 63.However,the differences of grain yield among varieties were not significant.Finally,high yield cultivation technology of Teyou 679 was proposed according to its characteristics of yield component and dry matter production.

In 2000,a restorer line Ce 679,derived from multiple crosses between cultivated rice(Oryza sativa) with wild rice(Oryza rufipogon)(IR661∥IR2061/Hepu wild rice),was developed by the Agricultural College of Guangxi University.This restorer line is characteristic of good restoring ability,high combining ability,good grain quality and strong cold resistance inherited from the Hepu wild rice.Three hybrids derived from this restorer line including Zhongyou 679(Zhong 9A/Ce 679),Boyou 679(Bo A/Ce 679) and You Ⅰ 679(You Ⅰ A/Ce 679) have been certified and released to commercial production by the Guangxi Crop Variety Appraisal Committee.
RM206 is a closely-linked microsatellite marker to the bacterial blight(BB) resistant gene Xa23,and its polymorphism was analyzed in the parents: 386 or CBB23(Xa23 carrier),elite breeding stocks (384,384,387),and their relevant breeding populations——F1,F2,and BC1,BC2.The results showed that RM206 had a good polymorphism among the 4 parents,this kind of polymorphism still existed in the breeding populations——F1,F2 and BC1,BC2.In breeding populations ——F1,F2,and BC1,BC2,the ratio of the RM206 PCR products accorded with the Mendel's law of segregation.RM206 didn't show segregation distortion in each breeding population.
Twenty-six hybrid varieties(F1) were studied on kernel weight,kernel oil content and their relationship,and the normal probability distributions of S1 seed oil content in each variety were tested by chi-square tests and three empirical methods.The results showed that the average of kernel weight was from 0.29 g to 0.45 g,the range of coefficient variation(CV) was from 4.4 percent to 19.4 percent in these hybrids;the average oil content of kernel was from 4.52 percent to 10.5 percent in these hybrids,their variability was high,and the range of CV was from 11.02 percent to 27.9 percent;The S1 kernel oil content distribution of the only hybrid 4053-2,no matter what testing method was used,was fitted to the normal distribution,and the S1 kernel oil content distributions of the other hybrids were not fitted to the normal distributions;there were significant negative correlations between grain weight and grain oil content in all hybrids.
Rice bacterial leaf blight(BLB) is one of the three major diseases in rice.Study on SSR markers in gene identification and resistance breeding of BLB has made a great progress.At present,the special SSR markers for rice bacterial leaf blight gene(s) are lack,so the molecular assistant selection(MAS) in resistance breeding of BLB is limited.According to that,applying the SSR markers with linkage relationship to rice bacterial leaf blight gene(s) to pyramid resistant genes is the most effective way to exploit the genetic sources of BLB resistance.

Local(Hepu) wild rice with good adaptability and breeding materials IR2061,and IR611 were used to develop a series of elite lines by single crossing,multiple crossing,and thereafter by pedigree selection with many generations and many lines.A male sterile line Bo A was employed to testcross these elite lines,and one of these lines No.679 was the best in terms of its hybrid when crossed with the male sterile line Bo A,and this hybrid was named Boyou 679.This hybrid was evaluated in Guangxi new variety test and production test in 2003,2004 respectively.With the result of high yield,good quality,and good resistance capability,it was certified by Guangxi,and appointed to be one of the leading varieties in Guangxi in January 2005,and was being planted on a large scale in the Guangxi,Guangdong,and Hainan provinces.
利用20世纪60年代、70年代、80年代、90年代的代表品种(组合)为试验材料,比较了四个年代中前后两个不同年代品种间在根干重、株高,第二茎节直径大小,茎壁厚度与其经济性状、产量的关系。结果表明,经济性状和产量均随着根干重、株高、第二茎节直径大小、茎壁厚度的增大而提高。由此说明,今后水稻产量如要得到进一步的提高,在植株形态上应向“高大韧”方向发展。

Using SSR molecular markertechnique ,45 hybridrice combinations commercially grownin Guangxi were surveyed onthe existence ofXa-4gene resistant to bacterial leaf blight (BLB). The results showedthat 33 or 73.3 % of them had homozygousXa-4gene, 9 or 20 %of them contained heterozygousXa-4gene. Attention should be paidtoavoiding a situation of unit aryresistance gene in Guangxi hybrid rice breeding programs.
在玻璃大棚槽栽条件下,于甘蔗伸长中后期停止供水(干旱胁迫)处理60天,以正常供水处理为对照,测定干旱胁迫对甘蔗产量和工艺品质的影响.结果表明:甘蔗伸长中后期干旱胁迫明显降低蔗茎的生长速度,使植株变矮,单茎重明显降低,但对有效茎数的影响不大.5个参试品种干旱胁迫处理的蔗茎产量比对照低6.73%~17.26%,平均减产11.18%.甘蔗伸长中后期受旱害还使甘蔗工艺品质明显变劣,12月的甘蔗蔗糖分比对照降低1.54%~2.40%(绝对值,下同),平均下降1.82%;蔗汁重力纯度下降3.07%~9.95%,平均下降7.56%;蔗汁还原糖分升高0.05%~0.57%,平均升高0.36%.
新台糖16号在667m2施用过磷酸钙60kg、氯化钾30kg的基础上,分别设施尿素40kg(N1)、60kg(N2)和80kg(N3)三个不同施氮水平处理.新植、宿根两年的试验结果表明:每667m2施尿素60kg,N:P2Os:K2O比例为1:0.35:0.65的施氮水平(N2),其株高、茎径、单茎重和蔗茎产量,在三个处理中最优,施肥效益最好,其工艺品质也达到糖厂11月份开榨的要求,是新台糖16号比较合理的施氮量.
