The uncontrolled spread of invasive non-native species can have significant ecological, social and economic consequences. This paper provides numerous examples of how Elodea canadensis Michx. interacts with various environmental contaminants. Previous experiments have shown that Elodea has a rather high phytoremediation potential. Therefore, there is interest in cultivating this plant for phytoremediation purposes. This article describes the pros and cons of Elodea that society faces when dealing with this plant. The aim of the article is to investigate the invasive capacity of elodea (Elodea canadensis) when introduced into a freshwater body inhabited by other aquatic plant species. Three years of experience are described in this article and it has been shown that E. canadensis quickly adapts and multiplies in new water ecosystems (central Russia) and displaces other aquatic plants. For this reason, it is convenient to grow E. canadensis in incubator ponds and then use it for phytoremediation. The reported results add to the evidence that E. canadensis is a weed of waterways and a nuisance to navigation, but is useful in remediating aquatic environments from anthropogenic pollution. The article is of interest to researchers working in ecology, hydrochemistry, hydrobiology, various environmental and biosphere sciences.
The concentrations of synthetic surfactants in wastewater can exceed 30 g/L. The hazard posed by these substances needs to be demonstrated. E Color powder laundry detergent exhibited stronger toxicity toward Vigna radiata seedlings than Arau liquid laundry detergent at all the concentrations tested. The incubation in all Petri dishes lasted for 96 h. Arau caused no toxic effect at concentrations of 0.05 and 0.5 g/L; E Color produced toxic effects at these concentrations. The new data show that Vigna radiata is applicable for assessing the hazard of pollutants.
Synthetic surfactants are essential components of commercial detergents. Organisms suffer from surfactant pollution; therefore, there is a need to estimate the resistance of macrophytes to these pollutants. New biological effects of detergent compositions (Frosch, Tide) on higher aquatic plants Ceratophyllum demersum, Elodea Canadensis, Chara fragilis, and Callitriche palustris were revealed. Frosch is claimed as an environmentally friendly detergent. In experiments, Frosch showed high toxicity to all macrophytes. The results obtained can be used in practice in the development of new biotechnologies in order to reduce the risk of pollution of the aquatic environment with surfactants present in synthetic detergents, which is one of the priorities of modern ecology. The conducted biotesting on macrophytes can serve as an example for certification of new synthetic surfactants. The obtained data can be useful in the selection of organisms for biotesting of pollutants for toxicity.
В условиях биотестирования изучали воздействие смеси органических ксенобиотиков (нитробензол, этилбензол, анилин, ксилол, стирол) на несколько видов высших водных растений: Ceratophyllumdemersum, Elodeacanadensis, Charafragilis, Callitrichepalustris. Целью работы являлась оценка опасности комплексного загрязнения водоемов органическими поллютантами для жизнеспособности макрофитов. В микрокосмах были созданы концентрации добавленных веществ по 3 ПДК каждое.Инкубация длилась 14 дней. C. palustris иC. fragilis являются высокочувствительными тест-объектами и подходят для биоиндикации. E. canadensis продемонстрировал высокую толерантность к загрязнению поллютантами и может использоваться в целях фиторемедиации. C. demersum был умеренно толерантен к загрязнению по сравнению с остальными макрофитами в этом опыте. Данное исследование носит прикладной характер в экологической науке. При помощи этой работы были выявлены относительные границы диапазона толерантности макрофитов к смесевому загрязнению окружающей среды органическими ксенобиотиками. Полученные данные дополняют и расширяют представления о загрязнении водных экосистем органическими растворителями. Результаты проведенных опытов полезны для понимания биоэффектов у высших водных растений при загрязнении водных экосистем смесью веществ из класса органических ксенобиотиков. Необходимо дальнейшее накопление сведений о химико-биотических взаимодействиях различных ксенобиотиков и живых организмов. Статья представляет интерес для исследователей, работающих в области экологии, экотоксикологии, гидрохимии, гидробиологии, различных наук об окружающей среде и биосфере.
The article is devoted to the study of factors influencing the level of psychological well-being of elderly people with dementia. As a result of statistical calculations, a model was built that proves the indirect influence of intellectual development on subjective well-being. Mediating factors are the ability to interact with others, the emotional regulation, existential fulfillment and the analysis of inner states.
Ecological features and problems of transport accessibility of the population in different regions of Russia are considered. The data of natural and climatic features of regions of Russia are given and the state policy in the field of territorial planning is analyzed.
Introduction. The modern highly sensitive methods of controlling substances that affect humans in real environmental conditions are necessary to adequately assess the quality and chemical safety of drinking water, including pesticides used in agriculture for the destruction of weeds and pests. The aim of the work was to improve the sensitivity of existing techniques for the determination of triazine pesticides in their joint presence to control drinking and bottled water. Material and methods. The studies were performed using a chromatography mass-spectrometric system including a liquid chromatography with tandem mass-spectrometric triple quadrupole detector. Results. The influence of various factors on the extraction of triazine pesticides from water has been studied, the chromatographic and detection conditions have been optimized. Linearity in the range of 0.1 - 10 μg / dm3 is proved. The limits of detection and quantitative determination of triazine pesticides in drinking water are established in accordance with hygienic standards. Discussion. The procedure allows separate determination of triazine pesticides when they are co-located in concentrations at and below the corresponding MPC values in drinking and bottled water. The method allows reliably determining the target compounds without the use of hard-to-reach deuterated reference materials. To improve the reliability of the method, as an internal standard it is recommended to use one of the compounds studied, which is not a widely used pesticide, for example, propazine, with mandatory control of the initial matrix for its content. Conclusion. A highly sensitive method for the separate determination of a group of triazine pesticides (simazine, atrazine, propazine, prometrin, metribuzin, metamitron) was developed with their joint presence in drinking water with sensitivity at or below the corresponding hygienic standards.
The way of definition of formaldehyde in water by the method of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with the use of solid-phase extraction for concoction and extraction of the analyzed derivative formaldehyde is presented. The method is distinguished by the simplified and accelerated procedure of the sample preparation in comparison with classical liquid extraction. Chromatographic division of substances was reached on the turned phase column C18 with the use of mixture of the deionized water and an acetonitrile as a mobile phase. Definition was carried out at absorption wavelength of 360 nanometers. Linearity was reached in the ranges of concentration from 1 to 200 mcg/l. Full validation of a method is carried out. For control samples of all levels, including the lower limit of quantitative definition, the value of repeatability (RSD) accounted for ≤15%. The index of the accuracy amounted to ≤10%. The presented way showed good validation characteristics and can be recommended for the simplification and acceleration of the determination of the content of formaldehyde in water by the HPLC method
The paper considers various approaches to reduce heavy metal (am) pollution of agricultural and non-agricultural soils. The main measures to reduce HM activity in agricultural soils include liming, application of mineral and organic fertilizers, artificial and natural sorbents. On lands not used for agricultural purposes, the main types of HM reduction arc soil washing and replacement of contaminated soil with imported soil.
We studied the effects of homeopathic monopreparations of plant origin Atropa Belladonna and Rhus toxicodendron in three dilutions (potencies) on interstitial humoral transport in healthy laboratory mice assessed by the rate of excretion of the lymphotropic label from the mesentery according to the Oyvin's method (vital biomicroscopy of intestinal mesentery in small animals). The homeopathic monopreparations exerted a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on the interstitial transport and lymphatic drainage in tissues of healthy mice.
In work data of comparative research ecological and physiological features of nonresident students’ adaptation processes in the conditions of the capital megalopolis are submitted. On selection of 189 entrants of PFUR and Lomonosov Moscow State University who arrived from different regions of Russia (Central, Volga, North Caucasian and Siberian Federal Districts) complex research a condition of the psychoemotional sphere and functional work of cardiovascular system is conducted. It is revealed that the worst condition of adaptation processes appeared at first-year students from the Volga and North Caucasian federal districts and Moscow area. Average position in adaptation to new environment was reached by nonresident students from Siberian Federal District. The most optimum indicators in adaptation to the capital megalopolis were recorded at nonresident students from Central Federal District.
It is carried out researches on studying of psychophysiological features and adaptation processes of students of first-year and different specialties. On selection of 280 students the psycho functional condition of nervous system was studied. It is revealed that on level of simple visual and motor reaction the majority of students of different faculties of the PFUR were in a zone of average values. Average group indicators of level of functional processes nervous mobility at students of different faculties also authentically didn't differ. About a half of first-year students of physical and mathematical, humanitarian and social, philological and historical faculties differed high level of different types of memory.
In article possibilities of wide use of information technologies in system of social and hygienic monitoring are considered. Importance and the practical importance of introduction of these technologies which it is essential, quickly is shown and will be able effectively to solve many complex problems in the field of environment protection and health of the person.
