Objective Toinvestigate the effect of changes of sex hormones in patients with gastrointestinal cancer on diagnosis and treatment. Methods Serum estrogen level (SEL) and serum testosteronelevel(STL) were detected in 58 healthy subjects as control. Results STLwas significantly lowerin male and female cancer cases before operation than thatin benign and control group ( P 0-01) ,and increased significantly after operation ( P 0-01) .SELwas significantly higherin male cancercases before operation thanthatin benign and controlgroup ( P 0-05) ,and significantly decreased after operation ( P 0-05) . SEL was significantly lower in female cancer cases before operation than that in benign and control group ( P 0-05) , and increased significantly after operation ( P 0-01) . STLand SELhad no difference between benign and control group ,pre and post operation of benign group . Conclusion Itis significantto detect the level of serum sex hormonefor the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinalcancer.

多原发恶性瘤(MPMT)的诊断由Warren在1932年首次提出.目前随着癌的诊断和治疗水平的不断提高,多原发恶性瘤逐渐引起临床医师的重视.故目前MPMT发现也随之增加,我院由1975年1月至1995年12月20年间共收治MPMT24 例,其中与消化道有关MPMT18例,同时复习近10年国内期刊发表与消化道有关MPMT443例,现就有关MPMT诊断及病因进行探讨.
