The review gives data that reveal the role of succinic acid in providing cells with energy and oxygen under hypoxic conditions. It presents the results of clinical and experimental studies to evaluate the efficacy of succinate-containing drugs in the combination therapy of infectious diseases. The spectrum of biological effects of these drugs, which is provided by the synergy of their active ingredients, is considered.
This article presents the most important issues concerning the medical aspects of anti-epidemic measures for brucellosis at the present stage. The system of epidemiological protection of the population provides early detection of infectious disease and informing the sanitary-epidemiological service, preventive, curative and rehabilitative measures. For example, in the Saratov region discusses the quality and volume of laboratory tests for brucellosis, the awareness of doctors about this infectious disease, state statistical reporting. Obtained evidence of signifi cant defi ciencies in the health care anti-epidemic measures for brucellosis associated with inadequate use of modern methods of laboratory diagnosis, incomplete volume survey of groups at high risk of infection with Brucella, decreased alertness and low level of awareness among physicians regarding brucellosis.
The shift in priorities in system of Russian education, transition from reproductive learning to learner-centered approach, incorporation of competency-based approach into educational standards of the third generation require training of a competitive specialist with professional competency. Types of competencies are characterized. The competency presenting certain requirements is studied. The mastering of requirements will enable to train qualified specialists. The quality of education directly influences level of professional activity through training of specialists and development of sciences. Competence-oriented modules approach and adherence to pedagogic requirements in education enables efficacy of professional training. Innovative techniques and approaches to organizing educational process in their active form stimulate process of studying.

The aim of the study: Modification in the treatment of patients with herpes associated with psoriasis. Materials and methods: 30 patients were included in the study divided into two groups. In the 1st group the patients received standard treatment for herpes and two daily applications of cikloferon liniment for seven days. In the 2nd group the patients received only standard treatment for herpes. The patients were followed-up for six months. The study was open-label randomized. Results: The results obtained show that general infectious symptoms of herpes subsided considerably faster in the 1st group of patients treated with cikloferon liniment. The applications with the topical immunomodulator enhanced more dynamic disappearance of erosions. During the six months follow-up exacerbations of herpes were noted in 10% of patients in the 1st group and in 30% of patients in the second group. Cikloferon liniment was well tolerated and no side effects were noted. Conclusion: Cikloferon liniment used for the treatment of patients with herpes exacerbation associated with psoriasis contributes to more dynamic disappearance of infectious syndrome, enhances epithelization of herpetic erosions, and lowers the duration of erosions and local inflammation as well as the number of exacerbations in catamnesis.

The aim of the study was to estimate the efficacy of liniment cycloferon included in combined therapy of herpetic infection in 30 patients with psoriasis divided into 2 groups. Combined treatment of patients with recurrent herpetic infection promoted elimination of general infection syndrome, shortened duration of eruption and local inflammation, accelerated epithelization of herpetic erosion, and decreased the frequency of relapses during the follow-up.
The efficiency of cycloferon liniment in combined treatment of herpetic infection in patients with latent form of HIV infection has been assess by observations of 40 patients divided into two groups. In the first group, the standard treatment was supplemented with the application of cycloferon liniment twice a day during 7 days; in the second group, the therapy was conducted according to standard recommendations. It was established that the application of cycloferon liniment in combination with standard therapy in patients with relapse of herpetic infection against the background of HIV infection ensures faster disappearance of general infectious syndrome, decreases the period of eruptions and the duration of local inflammations, and accelerates the epithelialization of erosions.
The research goal is to investigate mechanisms of formation and course of herpetic stomatitis in patients with focal chronic tonsillitis. It has been established that patients with stomatitis and tonsillitis are able to develop local inflammatory reaction. It is accompanied by increase of infectious severity and activation of anti-inflammatory cytokines in fluid of parodontal pockets. It has been also proved that the cause factor of frequent and long relapses of stomatitis in patients with tonsillitis is due to the development of pathological process as a result of disbalance of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant system, endotoxicosis syndrome.
: Therapeutic potential of cyclopheron was evaluated as exemplified by the treatment of patients with chronic brucellosis. Positive clinical dynamics during combined treatment including cyclopheron is apparent as reduced duration of intoxication and inflammation, improved quality of life, decreased frequency of exacerbation of the infectious process and development of intercurrent diseases. These effects are shown to be due to immunomodulating activity of cyclopheron and suppression of lipid peroxidation. Also, the drug increases activity of antioxidants, decreases the levels of proinflammatory (and to a lesser degree of anti-inflammatory) cytokines.
The comparative characteristic of physiotherapeutic and reflexotherapeutic techniques of EHF-therapy is presented. It is shown that application of the technique with individual selection of influence points of low-intensive electromagnetic radiation (EMR) of the extremely high-frequency (EHF) a range and with possibility of correction in the course of treatment raises its efficiency in a greater degree, than applica-tion of uniform scheme EHF-therapy.
Patients with chronic brucellosis underwent a complex clinical and laboratory studies to determine the indicators reflecting the degree of systemic inflammation and endotoxicosis. On the basis of an analysis of the findings, an integral quantitative approach was applied to describing the associations between various pathophysiological processes and clinical manifestations; criteria for the activity of the infectious process were objectivized, and the form of chronic brucellosis was defined. The mathematical simulation method was shown to be an adequate tool to objectivized the differential diagnosis of the clinical forms of the disease.
