The study enrolled patients with ischemic heart disease with moderate (37 patients) and apparent hemolysis (18 patients) after coronary bypass surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass. Before and after the operation the concentration of free hemoglobin in blood plasma, mechanical resistance of red cells, content of TBA-active products and the general antioxidant activity in red cells were studied, while taking into account the artificial blood circulation activity and perfusion speed as well. It was established that among patients with apparent post-perfusion hemolysis the level of TBA-active products in red cells increased after surgery, while their general antioxidant activity tended to decrease. Development of moderate hemolysis is not accompanied by changes in the oxidant-antioxidant balance of red cells. There were no reliable differences in the duration of cardiopulmonary bypass, perfusion volume velocity, as well as mechanical resistance of red cells among the groups of patients at both levels of the study. Thus, individual-conditioned apparent post-perfusion hemolysis is based on a free-radical mechanism of red cell damage, and not on a mechanical trauma of blood cells when under cardiopulmonary bypass.
Aim. The influence of dry extracts of Saussurea controversa DC. and Filipendula ulmaria (L.) Maxim. in experimental osteomyelitis with the use of сefazolin in rats.Materials and methods. After a course of therapy extracts at a dose of 100 mg/kg on the background of antibiotic therapy observed localization of the inflammatory process, whereas animals receiving only Cefazolin becomes diffuse inflammation. In the conditions of complex therapy the level of diene conjugates significantly reduces in the serum and the level of TBA-active products, total lipids and lysophosphatidylcholine reduces in the muscle tissue of the affected area. In the application of extracts of S. controversa returns to normal level of diacylglycerides and phosphatidylcholine, and the application of the extract of F. ulmaria – free cholesterol in comparison with the group of animals treated only with сefazolin.Results. In the application of water-ethanol extract of S. controversa with simultaneous intramuscular сefazolin marked decrease in the activity of acid and alkaline phosphatase that can enhance reparative processes in the bone tissue.
Therapy of rats with CCl4 hepatitis with Stellaria media L. water-soluble polysaccharide fraction in a dose of 100 mg/kg reduces serum activities of transaminases (ALT and AST), alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin, and the thymol test values. In the liver, the density of inflammatory infiltration of the organ parenchyma, total count of necrotic hepatocytes, fatty and protein degeneration are reducing. Hence, water-soluble polysaccharide fraction, isolated from the terrestrial part of Stellaria media L., is characterized by hepatoprotective activity.
The composition of biologically active substances of aqueous extracts of couch grass was studied and the following groups of biologically active substances were identified: coumarins, iridoids, saponins, slimes, polysaccharides (including inulin), ascorbic acid and β-carotene, flavonoids (rutin, hyperoside, baicaleine) phenocarboxylic acids (chlorogenic and p-hydroxycinnamic acids), and tannins. The effects of couch grass extract in the form of a cream on several measures of lipid peroxidation in allergic contact dermatitis were studied in experimental conditions. Cream containing couch grass extract was found to have normalizing actions on measures of lipid peroxidation (diene conjugates, malondialdehyde, catalase) in the plasma of experimental animals.

The influence of an ointment based on the extract fromEletrigia repens on some parameters of lipid peroxidation under conditions of experimental allergic contact dermatitis has been studied. It is established that the ointment produces normalization of the parameters of lipid peroxidation (diene conjugates, malonic dialdehyde, catalase) in the blood plasma of experimental animals.
The purpose of the research was studying influence of the ointment containing as the operating component an Empetrum black extract on some parameters of lipid peroxidation (diene conjugates, malonic dialdehyde, catalase) at allergic contact dermatitis at rats in plasma of blood and leather. As a result of experiment on model of allergic contact dermatitis it is established, that ointment with an Empetrum extract normalizes processes of the lipid peroxidation (level malonic dialdehyde, diene conjugates and catalase did not differ from the control), that in turn, apparently, can also improve therapeutic effect (initial parameters of an integument were restored). While using the ointment with an Empetrum extract terms of recover of animals are reduced to 4—5 days in comparison with a group of incurable rats, but at the same time it concedes a little to hormonal «Akriderm SK».
It has been experimentally established that a single impact of carbon mono-oxide in concentration 4000 mg/m3 during 75 minutes (CL50) in rats is accompanied with disturbance of functional activities of blood red cells in the form of a decrease of deformability and an increase of aggregative capacity of erythrocytes which are most evident to the end of the first day after carbon mono-oxide administration. These changes are combined with structural modification and changes in metabolism of erythrocytic membrane. The signs of structural modification of erythrocytic membrane in rats exposed to acute effect of carbon mono-oxide in a mean lethal concentration stay long remaining during elimination of carboxyhemoglobinemia (up to 14-21 days).
Induced sputum cytology, nitric oxide content in exhaled breath condensate and dynamics of these parameters against the background of glucocorticosteroid therapy were studied in patients with bronchial asthma exacerbation. Sixty four patients with different degree of bronchial asthma were included. The control group was represented by 20 healthy volunteers. It is shown, that monitoring of induced sputum and nitric oxide indices is informative to assess efficiency of anti-inflammatory therapy in bronchial asthma patients.

The aim of the present study was to establish the role of disturbances of structural-functional properties of erythrocyte and platelet membranes in mechanisms of development and progression of vascular complications of type 1 diabetes. The subjects were 92 patients (48 men and 44 women, aged from 18 to 55) affected by type 1 diabetes in different stages of diabetic retinopathy and diabetic nephropathy. The results have shown the significant structural and functional changes of red blood cells and platelet membranes in type 1 diabetes mellitus. These changes (increase of microviscosity of lipid phase, inhibition of Na+,K+-АТPase activity) correlated with the degree of expression of vascular complications. Since the rheologic properties of blood cells, particularly its microrheologic features, are determined by the membrane status, the detection of changes in the molecular organization of erythrocyte and platelet membranes can be consider as a pathogenic link of diabetic microangiopathies.

In chronic CCl4-hepatitis in rats phospholipid-containing hepatoprotectors, essentiale and eplir differ in their influence on the therapeutic effect of prednisolone; essentiale does not change the antiproliferative effect of the glucocorticoid and weakens its membrane-stabilizing effect, eplir increases these therapeutic effects of prednisolone. Besides, eplir, in distinction from essentiale, reduces lipid accumulation in the liver and hypoproteinemia which are induced by prednisolone.
The lipid spectrum of erythrocyte membranes was studied by thin-layer and gas-liquid chromatography in patients with lung cancer in the process of antineoplastic cytostatic chemotherapy. The control group of examined subjects was formed of healthy volunteers. During a course of antineoplastic polychemotherapy according to the CAM scheme (cyclophosphan, adriamycin, methotrexate) disorders of the erythrocyte membrane lipid spectrum in patients with II-IV stage lung cancer remained or became still more manifest.
The essential decrease of the rate of turnover of phosphatidic acids (PA), polyglycerophosphates (PGP) and their lysoderivatives (LPGP), sphinigomyelin (SM) and lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC), phosphatidyletnanolamine (PEA) was found in male mice of BALB/c strain with subacute alloxan diabetes (glucose concentration in the blood was not less than 14 mmol/l) during examination of phospholipid metabolism in the liver by the rate of 3H-acetate and 14C-palmitate incorporation into corresponding chromatographic phospholipid fractions. On the contrary, turnover of phosphatidilcholine (PC) significantly increased. The of main structural phospholipid components of hepatocyte cellular membranes--PEA and PC--were found to be decreased by 41 and 32%, respectively. LPGP and PA levels decreased to a lesser extent. The level of PGP, SM, phosphatidylinositol and LPG did not differ from the control level.
In patients with untreated tumors (lung cancer, head and neck tumors, stomach and colon cancer), erythrocyte membranes are characterized by a decreased content of total lipids together with increased percentage of cholesterol and lysophosphatidylcholine in comparison with healthy individuals. The observed shifts depend on tumor location.
A complex examination of results of UV laser action on normal and atherosclerotic wall has been undertaken. A considerable part of laser energy absorbed in tissue specimen was shown to be exhausted for photodissociation of lipid molecules. Moreover, substantial changes in molecular structure of amino acid and glucose have been demonstrated.
