This paper review the Traffic Analysis and Feasibility for the development of Green field port at Cuddalore. Study of strategic locations close to Industries and analysis on cargo movement and traffic analysis on the existing ports in the Indian coast has been performed with reference to the Cuddalore Port, situated in Tamil Nadu. Vessel size analysis has been performed in order to know what type of vessel, expected to come to the port, in accordance with to Indian Port Association. The East coast ports handle about 62% of total Container , General Cargo & liquid bulk vessels which are called at Indian Major Ports of East Coast by Chennai. From the analysis of the world wide fleet and the Indian scenario, mostly serving vessel size ranging between 50000 to 80000 DWT which may be due to draft restriction and limited handling facilities. In East coast ports have facilities to serve vessels of 100000 DWT and above. Cape size vessels are expected to arrive in the Indian ports in the future; so considering the future scenario, design vessels sizes are recommended accordingly. This paper features on the various aspects of analysis and feasibility made with reference to Cuddalore Port.

Women being a rational being are entitled to all Human rights. By virtue of being workers they women are entitled to certain additional rights. Women rights are human rights but women in the unorganized sector face many problems. Their human rights are violated in many forms. The study covered the women workers employed in Building construction works and Road workers. 398 samples were taken for the study under stratified random sampling method. Interview schedule is a tool used to elicit information from the unorganized women construction workers in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu. The data obtained from the women workers and primary data enrich the study. The study revealed the fact that many of the laws enacted to protect the rights of the women workers remain silent in books without implementations. Minimum wages fixed by the appropriate government is not paid to the women workers. Sexual harassment at work is another important factor which affects the mental health of the women workers and their right to work with dignity is greatly affected. Maternity benefits are totally not provided and the pregnant workers remain jobless on account of being pregnant in the construction sector. Thus the study had identified host of human rights violation against women at the work in the construction sector. The laws are adequate to protect the workers but the implementation part is to be take care strictly by the administrators.

Tobacco is a major smoking device used by millions of people all over the Malawi who can’t afford the pleasure of smoking a cigarette because of the price that is prohibitive taking in to consideration the economic status of the majority of smokers all over the nation. Smoking tobacco suited the financial strength of the emerging industries workers and agricultural labourers. In this study made an attempt to study the health and socio-economic aspects of the tobacco workers, to find out the nature of work conditions of the tobacco workers, to study the awareness of tobacco workers with regard to family problems and to find out their participation in religious gathering. This study found that tobacco workers were lives in most of the rural areas of Malawi through secondary data pertained from the Government and Non Government sources. Population method was adopted to collect the information from the tobacco workers in the study area. This study found that Tobacco is not only injurious to health of the smokers and also to the makers of the Tobacco (Tobacco workers) too. Socio-economic status of the tobacco worker also very poor when compare with the minimum wages in the study area. These tobacco workers are forced to engage this sector due to non availability of other kind of jobs and lack of skills to engage in the other jobs. This study concludes that Government and Non Governmental organizations should take necessary actions to improve the health and socio economic status through providing vocational training and guidance to enhance their skills and help them in self employment opportunities. Further, it opens up new avenues for the future researchers to contribute more on this to enhance the health condition from all the parts of the world.

Domestic workers - who sweep, swab, wash, cook, take care of the children and look after the elderly – yet, are invisible. According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), "A domestic worker is someone who carries out household work in a private household in return for wages." The poor and marginalized women are now joining the growing force of domestic workers in Malawian towns and villages. In this backdrop, this research work aims at understanding the socioeconomic background of women domestic workers and problems faced by them in Mangochi District in Malawi. This particular region was selected for research as it has a large number of women domestic workers due to seasonal employment in Salt and Fishing sectors. 100 women domestic workers were selected as sample through Purposive Sampling method and the required data were collected from them by using a semi structured interview schedule designed for this purpose. The study results show that the poor economic condition of family drives the women to opt for domestic work and they are exploited by the employers in many forms. They possess a very low status both in the workplace as well as in the society. They work for a paltry sum and are at the mercy of their keepers without any rights. The study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive policy and legislations to control the exploitation of women in unorganized workforce. Domestic Work should be declared as a profession and as such all the rights and privileges as applicable to all other workers are made available to them. Establishing Self help groups in their area and giving training in income generating activities will certainly go a long way to empower them.
