Moench) at Horticulture Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, U.P. during the year 2018. The field experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replications. The treatments involved in the study were eight in numbers i.e. T1 Control (no fertilizers), T2 (125 kg N + 50 kg P2O5 + 60 kg K2O /ha), T3 (100 kg N + 40 kg P2O5 + 48 kg K2O + 5 t FYM /ha) T4 (100 kg N + 40 kg P2O5 + 48 kg K2O + 12 q VC /ha), T5 (75 kg N + 30 kg P2O5 + 36 kg K2O + 10 t FYM /ha), T6 (75 kg N +30 kg P2O5 + 36 kg K2O + 24 q VC /ha), T7 (25 t FYM /ha), T8 (60 q VC /ha). All variable parameters regarding vegetative and reproductive parameters of okra were significantly influenced by integrated nutrient management practices. Soil of the experimental field was sandy loam and neutral in pH reaction. The present investigation clearly indicate that the combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizers i.e. T6 (75 kg N +30 kg P2O5 + 36 kg K2O + 24 q VC /ha) had the better effect on growth and yield parameters viz., plant height (129.11 cm), number of nodes on main stem (19.23), fresh weight of plant (351.13 g), dry weight of plant (72.12 g), number of pods per plant (16.13), length of pod (15.80 cm) and yield (134.14 q /ha) as compared to other treatments in case of okra cv. Arka Anamika under Western Uttar Pradesh conditions. On the basis of present investigation, it may be concluded that an integrated use of organic manure with chemical fertilizer increased the growth and yield of okra than that of sole application of either chemical fertilizer or organic manures.

A field experiment was conducted during 2017-18 to examine the impact of integrated nutrient management on growth parameters of broccoli (Brassica oleracea L. var. italica) cv. Pusa KTS-1. The experiment comprised of twelve treatments consisting of different combinations of organic and inorganic fertilizers. The experimental field was laid out in randomized block design (RBD) with three replications. All variable parameters regarding yield behaviour were significantly influenced by integrated nutrient management practices. Results indicated that combined application of 80% NPK + 2 t/ha vermicompost gave the significant effect on yield attributing parameters viz., head diameter (21.33 cm), number of spear per plant (13.00), head weight (332.33 gm) and yield (162.84 q/ha) as compared to other treatments.
A field experiment was conducted during the years 2011 and 2012 on okra cv. Parbhani Kranti to ascertain the influence of foliar application of plant growth regulators (PGRs) and nutrients with different concentrations on yield and its contributing characters. The field experiment was carried out at Horticulture Research Center of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut. The experiment consisted of two growth regulators and four nutrients in different concentrations. The different treatment concentration tested were NAA (25, 50 and 75ppm), GA3 (25, 50 and 75ppm), MnSO4 (2000 and 4000 ppm), FeSO4 (2000 and 4000 ppm), MgSO4 (2500 and 5000 ppm), CuSO4 (1000 and 2000 ppm) and Control (water spray). All variables parameters regarding yield attributes were significantly influenced by different concentrations of the growth regulators and nutrients. Results revealed that among all the treatments, the foliar application of GA3 (75 ppm) registered significantly higher reproductive aspects viz., number of flower per plant (22.88), number of pod per plant (20.68), fruit setting (90.34 %), pod length (20.63 cm), pod diameter (1.77 cm) and green pod yield (15.23 t/ha) over NAA and other treatments. While among the nutrients foliar application FeSO4 @ 4000 ppm had more positively effects on reproductive parameter as compare to other nutrient treatment.
Present study was carried out with fifty five genotypes including ten parental lines and their forty five F1s of Table pea (Pisum sativum. spp. Hortense L). The per cent heterosis over mid-parent and superior parent was worked out for yield and yield related attributes. The crosses namely KS-501×E-6, KS-156×E-6, AP-3×E-6 and AP-1×E-6 over superior parent; AP-2×AP-3, AP-4×E-6, AP-2×E-6 and KS-149×AP-2 over mid parent were superior in terms of heterosis along with the mean performance of yield per plant indicating the potential of selected hybrids over existing homozygous parental lines, and exploitation of dispersion of alleles between the parents and mean directional dominance gene action in crop improvement.
A field experiment was carried out during 2011 and 2012 at Horticulture Research Center of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut to find out the response of foliar application of plant growth regulators and nutrients in economics of okra cv. Parbhani Kranti cultivation. Results indicated that maximum gross income and net return were registered with foliar application of 75 ppm GA3 followed by 50 ppm GA3, while, maximum cost: benefit ratio was found to be with 75 ppm NAA followed by 50 ppm NAA. However among the nutrient foliar application of 4000 ppm FeSO4 was found more economical over all other nutrient treatments.
Study was conducted to estimate heterosis in garden pea (Pisum sativum L.) involving nineteen parents in line x tester fashion for seed yield and its contributing traits in forty eight hybrids. Sixteen parents were used as line and three as tester. The hybrids along with their parents were evaluated to assess heterosis. Among the hybrids, EC322748 X Rachna has recorded maximum heterosis as well as good performance for grain yield with 337.50 and 136 percent heterosis over better parent and standard variety respectively followed by EC-322748 x Pant P-5 with 300.0 and 116.22 percent heterosis over better parent and standard check respectively. These crosses also found to be good performer in terms of days to maturity, plant height, productive branches per plant and harvest index. High heterosis for seed yield demonstrates the presence of commercially exploitable magnitude of heterosis which can bring the quantum jump in productivity of field pea.
