Pandemic Corona Virus Disease-19 (COVID-19) has passed, but social determinants severity of COVID-19 in pregnant women are still being researched. Pregnant women have a higher risk of experiencing severe COVID-19 infection, with the potential for serious complications for maternal and fetal health. The impact of pregnancy planning towards severity of COVID-19 in pregnant women is still lack reported. This study was conducted to determine social factors that predict COVID-19 with severe symptoms in pregnant women at Rumah Sakit Lapangan Khusus COVID-19 in Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia. We have conducted case-control study of 99 pregnant women who had experienced COVID-19 between August 2021 and May 2022 and were treated at Rumah Sakit Lapangan Khusus COVID-19. Retrospective data were self-reported by respondents. Chi square test was used to obtain the relationship between variables. Path analysis was used to predict the direction of each independent variable on the dependent variable. Factors associated with severe symptoms of COVID-19 in pregnant women are : not vaccinated (p=0.032), undergo daily physical work (p = 0.023) and unplanned pregnancy (p=0.027). The three variables have a direct influence coefficient magnitudes -2.62; 4.05; 2.12, respectively. Unplanned pregnancy is directly influenced by age >35 years and the number of children with coefficient magnitudes 0.86.; -1.69, respectively. Unplanned pregnancy is a potential social determinant of severe COVID-19 symptoms in pregnant women and other several factors such as vaccine status and physical work (as direct factors), as well as age > 35 years and number of children (as indirect factors that predict unplanned pregnancy).KEYWORDS COVID-19; Severity; Unplanned Pregnancy.
The issue of inorganic waste such as plastic and used paper in industrial environments remains an important issue that affects the cleanliness and aesthetics of work areas. PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Fuel Terminal Rewulu faces challenges in managing non-hazardous solid waste due to limited sorting systems and waste transportation frequency. This Community Service activity aims to improve workers' understanding and skills through socialization and training in making ecobricks as a solution for utilizing inorganic waste. The methods used include pre-activity stages, socialization and hands-on practice, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge after the training, proving the effectiveness of interactive methods in strengthening understanding of the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) concept. In addition to reducing waste volume, this activity also fostered awareness and participation among workers in creating a clean and sustainable work environment. The results of this community service are important as a first step in building a culture of independent waste management in industrial environments and can be replicated in other locations with a similar approach. The management of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) at PT Phapros Tbk still faces obstacles in the form of difficult document access, numerous files scattered across several folders, and MSDS presented in English that is difficult for workers to understand. This condition has the potential to hinder understanding of chemical safety information in the work environment. This activity aims to develop a digital innovation in the form of the QR-Safe system to facilitate access and improve workers' understanding of basic MSDS information. The implementation methods include identifying problems through observation and interviews, developing a simplified MSDS summary template consisting of five main sections, creating QR codes for each chemical, and socializing the use of this innovation to employees. The results of the activity show that QR-Safe and the MSDS summary are able to speed up document searches, present safety information more concisely, and make it easier for workers to understand hazard identification, handling procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment. This innovation also contributes to improving the effectiveness of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in companies. The digitization of MSDS through the QR-Safe digital innovation is highly effective in improving workers' accessibility to and understanding of chemical safety information.
Improper storage and disposal of medications at home can reduce drug quality, pose risks of poisoning, and contribute to environmental pollution. However, public knowledge remains low, as only 16.1% of respondents demonstrated good understanding of proper storage, and 52.6% lacked awareness of safe disposal methods. Education is considered a key factor in improving health literacy related to medication management. This study aimed to examine the relationship between educational level and knowledge of medication storage and disposal among outpatients at RSI Sunan Kudus. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach, involving 392 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and Spearman Rank correlation. The majority of respondents were female (71.4%), aged 26–45 years (47.2%), had a senior high school/vocational education (53.8%), and were employed in the private sector (56.9%). Most respondents had moderate knowledge regarding storage (55.4%) and disposal (44.6%) of medications. A significant relationship was found between education level and knowledge of both storage (r = 0.532; p < 0.001) and disposal (r = 0.610; p < 0.001). More intensive education by pharmaceutical staff is recommended.
Indonesia is the second largest producer of plastic waste in the world after China, one source of waste is from the tourism sector such as in the Borobudur Temple Area, Central Java. The problem of low awareness and gender norms that are still closely embedded in Indonesian society are inhibiting factors in modern approaches to waste management, thereby impacting the burden on local governments in waste management. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of gender on concern for waste. Methods: Cross-sectional deskriptif survey study in the Borobudur sub-district area of 374 respondents representing the X generation or millennial generation and Z generation. This study shows that the difference in the average value (mean) of the variabels of knowledge, concern, perception, millennial PKK actions, and external faktors regarding institutions is slightly higher in the female group, namely 0.5005, 0.2207, 0.1452, 0 .8338, and 0.1046. But, individual perceptions of concern for community groups are slightly higher in the male group, namely 0.0659. This study shows that concern for waste, the female group's average value of each variable is slightly higher than the male group, and only one variable, namely external factors, individual perceptions of concern for community groups is slightly lower.
