Muntingia, or Jamaica Cherry, is a small, rapidly growing tree at full maturity that can reach up to 40 ft tall. The soft leaves are evergreen, with alternative phyllotaxy. The leaves on top are dark green and underneath are light green. The small, white flowers are centered with yellow stamens. The small, round fruits are abundant, and have a red or yellow color depending on the variety. The fruits are raw edible or made into jam. The fruit had a potent anti-inflammatory action. The flowers, made into medicinal teas, are antiseptic and antispasmodic. The Muntingia calabura (M. Calabura) leaves exhibited anti-proliferative and antioxidant potential activities. The present Muntingia research is to provide a description of the common applications and pharmacological potential. In conclusion, this review is hoped to serve as an incentive for others to further explore the pharmacological potential of M. calabura is designed to develop as a new therapeutic agent.
Aim: Formulation of Silver Nanoparticles Using Gymnema sylvestre Leaf Extract and In-Vitro Anti-diabetic Activity. Place and Duration of the Study: The present work has been carried out between April-2021 to July-2021 and at Mandasur University Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh-458001. Methodology: A versatile technique was implemented for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles using aqueous and alcoholic extract of leaves of Gymnema sylvestre. The Ag-NP was subjected to UV, FTIR, XRD, and particle size analysis. The silver nanoparticles Gymnema sylvestre evaluated its anti-diabetic activity by inhibiting the enzymes α-amylase. Results: The reduction of silver nitrate to silver nanoparticles was confirmed by UV-Vis spectrophotometer showing a typical resonance (SPR) at about 400 nm which is specific for Ag-NPs. In FT-IR analysis the strong band peak at 3355 cm-1 in the extract is vibration bands, which may be due to the overlapping of amine N-H stretching bands. SEM and EDX images reveal that the particles are spherical and the relatively uniform shape of the silver nanoparticles was confirmed in the range of 70-100 nm in extract, whereas DLS showed good zeta potential and less particle size. Conclusions: The silver nanoparticles that were biologically synthesized from Gymnema sylvestre were economical, non-toxic, and environmentally benign. Due to the reducing and capping nature of the bioactive Phyto-compounds, present in the aqueous extracts. This extract is found to be suitable for the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles. Synthesized silver nanoparticles exhibit the highest level of anti-diabetic activity by inhibiting carbohydrate metabolizing enzymes such as α-amylase. Therefore, synthesized nanoparticles can be a good therapeutic agent for controlling diabetes by inhibiting enzymes that hydrolyze carbohydrates.
An experimental investigation on heat and fluid flow characteristics of fully developed turbulent flow in a rectangular duct having repeated integral transverse chamfered rib-groove roughness on one broad wall has been carried out. The flow Reynolds number of the duct varied in the range of approximately 3000–21000, most suitable for solar air heater. Experimentation has been done on chamfered rib-groove roughness having 60° V groove varying relative roughness pitch of 4.5, 6, 7, 8 and 10, chamfer angle of 5°, 12°, 15°, 18°, 22° and 30°, relative groove position of 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 and 0.6, and relative roughness pitch of 0.022, 0.03, 0.35 and 0.04. The effect of roughness parameters on thermo-hydraulic performance parameter index has been studied experimentally and optimized. The maximum thermo-hydraulic performance parameter index for chamfered rib-groove roughened surface is observed of about 2.08 for the relative roughness pitch of 6, relative groove position of 0.4 and chamfer angle of 18° for relative roughness height of 0.04. The thermo-hydraulic performance parameter index of the chamfer rib-grooved surface compared with the square ribbed, chamfered rib, square rib-grooved surface. It can be seen that the thermo-hydraulic performance parameter for chamfered rib-groove roughness is the highest for the Reynolds number lower than about 12000, which is most suitable for solar air heater.
The goal of the project is to use the quality-by-design (QbD) method to create and optimise Tofacitinib citrate matrix tablets with controlled release excipients. The drug's physicochemical parameters, reference product characterisation, QTPP (Quality Target Product Profile), and CQAs were used to start product development (Critical Quality Attributes). Hypromellose (Methocel K100 premium LV CR), Polyethylene Oxide (SentryPolyox WSR N80 LEO), and Magnesium Stearate were used as formulation variables and were optimised together. The complete factorial design of experiment (DOE) with three centre points was used to investigate traditional monolithic controlled release matrix tablets. Using Design-expert12 programme, dissolution was assessed as CQA. At acidic pH, hypromellose with a higher viscosity grade provides a regulated release pattern by retaining the integrity of the medication and preventing rapid drug release. Due to the nonionic nature of the polymer, drug release from the polymer matrices is pH independent. Present monolithic controlled release matrix system the extensive degradation of Tofacitinib Citrate in the acidic condition can be avoided with desired in-vitro drug release.
This paper proposed a novel fuzzy logic based synchronous reference frame control algorithm for DSTATCOM to improve power quality in distribution network. The proposed algorithm found to be maintains constant DC-link voltage and extracts fundamental components of load currents to estimate reference signals. These reference currents in turn are utilized by DSTATCOM to mitigate the power quality in distribution network. Proposed control algorithm has been tested successfully in regulating the voltage, maintain unity power factor, harmonics minimization, and load balancing for multifarious loads at the point of common coupling of distribution network.
