Background: Anemia in pregnant women remains a prevalent health issue and contributes to an increased risk of maternal and neonatal complications. One factor suspected to play a role is low anemia literacy, which affects pregnant women's ability to understand health information and make decisions about anemia prevention. Low literacy can lead to poor adherence to iron supplementation and suboptimal dietary patterns, particularly in iron intake. This study aims to analyze the relationship between anemia literacy and the incidence of anemia among pregnant women at TPMB Cindy Yosy. Methods: This study employed a correlational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of 31 pregnant women selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a validated 20–item questionnaire to measure anemia literacy and hemoglobin level examinations to determine anemia status. The methodology section briefly specifies that the instrument was validated and ethical approval was obtained. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rho test. Results: Most respondents had poor anemia literacy (77.4%) and the majority experienced mild anemia (87.1%). The Spearman Rho test yielded a p-value = 0.000 (<0.05) with a correlation coefficient (rs) = +1.000, indicating a positive association with a very strong correlation between anemia literacy and the incidence of anemia in this sample distribution, which requires cautious interpretation. Conclusion: There is a significant association between anemia literacy and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. Lower anemia literacy is associated with a higher incidence of anemia in pregnant women.
The moral degradation and ethical challenges facing the younger generation in the digital era necessitate a context-based model of character education. This study aims to examine the character formation process of female students (santriwati) and analyze the influence of Islamic boarding school (pesantren) culture on their character. A mixed-methods approach with a sequential exploratory design was employed. Qualitative data were gathered through in-depth interviews and observations, while quantitative data were obtained via questionnaires administered to active students and analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Qualitative results reveal that character formation is systematically integrated across three key domains: daily religious routines, the dynamics of ethical social interaction, and regulations regarding traditional attire, such as sarung and jarik (or sewek), which embody philosophical values of simplicity and modesty. Quantitative analysis reinforces these findings, yielding an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 (< 0.05), thereby demonstrating a significant and consistent influence of pesantren culture on the character formation of female students.
This study is motivated by the increasing use of social media as a digital marketing medium, particularly TikTok, which is effective in delivering advertising messages to the public, including female university students. This study aims to determine the effect of Skintific Cushion TikTok advertisements on the purchase intention of female university students in Jember Regency. The study employs advertising theory, the AIDA model (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action), and cybernetics theory. Advertising theory explains the elements that influence advertising effectiveness, the AIDA model describes the stages of consumer responses after viewing advertisements, while cybernetics theory explains the message delivery process that influences consumer behavior. This research uses a quantitative method with a survey approach. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires distributed to 94 female university students from various universities in Jember Regency, selected using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and simple linear regression using SPSS 25. The results show that Skintific Cushion TikTok advertisements have a significant effect on the purchase intention of female university students in Jember, with a significance value of less than 0.05. The R Square value of 0.587 indicates that advertisements explain 58.7% of the influence on purchase intention, while the remaining 41.3% is influenced by other factors. Thus, TikTok advertisements are proven to have a significant impact on students’ purchase intention.
Organic waste management in Maesan Village, Bondowoso Regency, still faces several challenges, particularly limited waste management facilities and community capacity in processing organic waste. Therefore, effective, sustainable, and environmentally friendly management solutions are needed. The MAGGROW (Maggots for Sustainable Growth) program aims to increase community knowledge and skills in utilizing organic waste through Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot cultivation while encouraging the sustainable use of locally available resources. The program was implemented through the Collaborative Community Service Program (KKN) conducted by the University of Jember and the Islamic University of Jember. The implementation focused on introducing maggot cultivation and its potential applications in organic waste decomposition and aquaculture. The results demonstrated an increase in community knowledge regarding the use of BSF maggots as organic waste decomposers and as an alternative feed source for catfish. This utilization integrates organic waste management with aquaculture activities through the concept of integrated farming, supporting more sustainable resource utilization and providing potential economic benefits for the community.
The fisheries and marine sector plays a strategic role in supporting economic development, particularly in archipelagic countries where coastal communities depend heavily on marine resources. In this context, the traditional fish processing industry functions as a critical component of the fisheries value chain by generating added value, creating employment, and supporting local economic resilience. This study examines the traditional fish processing industry in Puger District, Jember Regency, Indonesia, which has developed through products such as salted fish, pindang, and shrimp paste but remains constrained by persistent structural limitations. This study aims to analyze value chain inefficiencies and formulate a revitalization strategy to strengthen industry competitiveness and sustainability. A qualitative research design was applied using structured interviews, direct observations, and document analysis involving 55 key stakeholders, including processors, traders, and government representatives. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, integrated with value chain analysis and SWOT analysis to identify critical constraints and strategic intervention points. The findings reveal that the industry operates predominantly at a micro scale with heavy dependence on traditional methods, particularly sun drying, resulting in production instability, inconsistent product quality, and limited compliance with sanitation standards. Additional constraints include weak upstream coordination, limited access to cold chain infrastructure, restricted market reach, low digital adoption, and unequal value distribution across the chain. These interconnected inefficiencies reduce the capacity of producers to access higher-value markets and limit the contribution of the industry to optimal economic resilience. The study identifies that effective revitalization requires an integrated approach linking technological upgrading, institutional strengthening, and market development. Key strategies include the adoption of appropriate technologies such as solar dryers and energy-efficient cold storage, strengthening cooperative-based institutions to improve bargaining power and access to financing, enhancing product standardization and sanitation practices, and expanding digital marketing and market integration, including opportunities in marine tourism. This study contributes by providing an empirical and systematic framework that links value chain constraints with targeted revitalization strategies, offering practical implications for policy development and sustainable coastal economic resilience. Key words: Coastal economic resilience, fisheries value chain, traditional fish processing industry
