EnglishThe reconstruction of the itinerary of the intellectual clergyman Juan Ramon Sepich constitutes a significant contribution, from the perspective of intellectual history to the new history of universities and of philosophy. This new history includes intersections between political history and the cultural approaches of transnational networks. Sepich’s intention to make the profane city a sacred one through his university and journalistic endeavors makes him one of the mid-20th century most relevant agents in the production and dissemination of the ideas that associated Catholicity with Hispanism. Considering his local, national, and international trajectory, it is possible to explain not only the movements of his reactionary thought in dialogue with the philosophers of modernity, but also to make visible the transatlantic circulation networks that strengthened the Francoism-backed policies of international Catholicism.

EnglishThe historiographical narrative describing early modern European philosophy as the confrontation between rationalism and empiricism and its overcoming through the Kantian synthesis had a huge spread in Argentina. This article investigates the genesis of this traditional account in the universities of Cordoba, Buenos Aires and La Plata between 1780 and 1920. It offers an introduction concerning the formation of this narrative in Europe and a survey of the teaching of early modern philosophy in Argentina during that period. It concludes that, although some of its components are found during the nineteenth century, it was only in the second decade of the twentieth century that the traditional narrative was formulated in its entirety, in parallel with the introduction of Kantianism in Argentine. However, the construction of this narrative is not merely explained by this fact but also by the weight that the history of philosophy gained in the syllabus as part of the demands involved in the shaping of the academic philosophical field. Finally, this paper suggests ways to reconfigure and renew the canon.
EnglishWhen Horacio Gonzalez speaks or writes, he opens generous fissures in the places in which he ventures and his more than half a century giving classes bear witness to this. The pluriverse of questions and references that it addresses becomes an inexhaustible fresh water well that not even the most painful and insulting argumentative droughts manage to consume or embitter. Well, Horacio does not stop persisting in a certain undisciplined reflection that annoys both moralists and disciplined operators and discipline workers on duty. Hence, this meeting is presented as an invitation, rooted in the debates on the university and its contexts, where the meanings we attribute to critical, and perhaps clinical, discourse in these times are explored, and the ways in which that pedagogies called conjectural allow us to interrogate contemporary problems. All this with a controversial book on Borges as a backdrop that allows us not to forget his place (or ours) among the barbarian peoples.

This paper aims to investigate the role played by Garcia Morente in his second trip to Argentina and the construction of the canon displayed in his Preliminary Philosophy Lessons, material that brings together the classes given at the National University of Tucuman in 1937. From this source, we will try an analysis that takes into account, on the one hand, the trajectory of the Spanish professor –from an intellectual history perspective– and, on the other hand, the analysis of his philosophical discourse –from a history of ideas approach– . Both dimensions are key to addressing the constitution of philosophical studies in the province.
This paper analyzes some the contributions and debates that cross some feminist perspectives in / from / from Latin America. Taking the genealogical as a horizon, we propose an approach based on the hermeneutic reading of specialized literature. Some of the questions that guide the investigation are: how do feminist productions in the region relate to critical approaches to colonialism? Who are the main actors of our feminisms? As anticipations of meaning, we consider that there are no continuities in the theoretical interweaves of feminist thoughts in the region, but constructions of situated knowledge that have raised, in some cases, dialogues and discussion nodes with each other. Likewise, we think that these thoughts not only constitute a dialogue with theoretical contributions from other latitudes, but also have the potential of ‘irradiation’ towards theoretical formulations outside the subcontinent.

These conversations explore the outlines of Tununa Mercado as a fundamental thinker who teaches, in the movements of her work and her voice, like the great weavers of all time, that wefts cannot be divided without decomposing the fabric. So the threads of literature, philosophy, politics, criticism, aesthetics, and memories are intertwined, interwoven, and constit longly woven into her writing. In this sense, the proposed conversational journey covers her life and work, without separating one from the other, while offering a walk through different problems. Among others, the link with writing, thought, reading and the ways in which all this is combined in different ways in their insubordinate itineraries, their junctions in memory, the tensions and openings of their debates around language, feminisms and their un-gendered way of write.
This is a writing exercise in which I sought, sometimes through self-narrative, sometimes through reading the Brazilian sociopolitical scenario, to promote a reflection on my process of mental decolonization, started in the Youth and Adult Education classroom. In Salvador-Bahia, the blackest city outside Africa. I am currently an academic teacher, a space still little accessed by the black bodies of both students and teachers, despite the advances that come from affirmative action policies. My text dialogues with authors, such as Carolina Maria de Jesus, Lelia Gonzalez, Gloria Anzaldua and Conceicao Evaristo, women who helped me in the weaving of words, in the cartography of my memories and in my subjective rescue as a form of empowerment. Besides these women, other voices are present here and can help us to reflect on the educational inequalities, in their intersections of gender, race and social class, still present in our daily lives, even after 131 years of abolition of slavery.
This article assumes as a locus of enunciation, the Latin American and decolonial feminisms; this is the point from which we are interested in traying another approach to the subject, an epistemological alternative with a located standpoint. This, our text appeals the ways of administrating -managing – signifying the categories that are set up on the colonial, gender and race intrusion. How do we use them regarding the production of knowledges and subjectivities? What semiotic processes do we manage? How are we affected? Therefore, this article is divided in two sections. The first one deals with Maria Lugones and Rita Segato’s theoretical discussions concerning the gender category linked to the colonial intrusion and the gender coloniality. In the second part, attentive to an analysis of the discourse as a methodology, we address two manifestos from a group of native woman of thirty-six nations in Argentina.
The main objective of this work is to account for tensions and positions regarding the uses of non-sexist and inclusive language, considering the different lines of action and work that the authors have done around the topic in the field of communication studies in intersection with gender, feminisms and education. The historicity of the problem of language and the critique of feminisms are approached along with some philosophical perspectives in tension. The writing revisit the idea of language as fighting space for the senses with an important role in intersubjective construction of social identities, the use of the generic masculine as the most precious conquest of the dominant language to conclude with the proposal to think the term “inclusivE language”.
This article presents a route through some actions, practices and reflections carried out by three women belonging to “Red de Sostenes”, a group with gender perspective that works daily and communaly in Unquillo (Cordoba, Argentina). By means of maintained conversations in several meetings throughout 2019, we are setting out to establish the basis for an epistemic thinking, not only between us, but in relation to women, feminist and corporal diversity’s movement in developement in Latin America since 2015.
In this article I will present an approach to a series of narrative texts that in recent years came out in Argentina and Chile as responses to the questions about the links between feminist critique and literary practices. The corpus includes: Chicas muertas (Dead Girls) (2014) by Selva Almada; Aparecida (Appeared) (2015) by Marta Dillon; Impuesto a la carne (Tax on Flesh) (2009) by Diamela Eltit; Conservas (Conserves) (2016) by Samantha Scweblim; Las infantas (The Infants) (2010) by Lina Meruane; and Las aventuras de la China Iron (The Adventures of China Iron) (2018) by Gabriela Cabezon Camara. As a hypothesis, I hold that the texts from the corpus intervene in different sociocultural configurations of gender, and install the problem of the body as a metaphorical extension of the community notion. In the conclusions, there is a series of arguments that are oriented towards understanding the relation between writing and feminist critique as a methodological perspective and a political device.
The paper reconstructs and examines the conceptualization of temporality as historical time developed by the young romantics of the Generation of 37 and, at the same time, analyzes how it influenced their interpretation of the socio-political state and their interventions in Rioplatense public life between the late 1830s and early 1840s. The focus is on the work and performance of Juan Bautista Alberdi, given the importance and visibility he achieved in those years and for having been the one who best developed within the romantics this novel conception of historicist time.
This article provides an overview of Women History’s paths in Chilean and Argentine academies. The starting point is the politized present marked by feminist movements’ demands that were expressed in Buenos Aires and Santiago on 8 March 2019. From that point on, the text traces Women’s History from its beginning to the present by focusing on main perspectives - from contributory history to gender studies - and by pointing to their contribution and downsides. Finally, the study reflects on the dangers of trivialisation that threatens historiography nowadays.
