This article analyzes the influence of ethics, the helping relationship, the spaces involved, and the skills of professionals, on home visits. Although the initial study carried out employed a mixed method, this article shows the results obtained through a qualitative study with regards to the four factors mentioned above. It was carried out through focus groups comprised of public administration workers dedicated to social services, health, and education who conduct or have conducted home visits as part of their professional tasks. This proposal arises from the consideration of homevisits as a professional practice featuring particularities that distinguish it from any other intervention within the field of Social Work. In this regard, the question of ethics is approached taking into account the conflicts exclusively associated with this type of intervention. The helping relationship also presents particularities related to the circumstances that benefit or hinder the forging of the link. As for the space, strategies are suggested that help ensure the quality of interviews. Lastly, the identification of professional skills will provide learning tools with the aim of increasing the efficacy of home visits.
This study explores the intersection between art and Community Social Work, proposing an innovative methodology based on artistic practices. Through semi-structured interviews with social work professionals in the central region of Portugal, it was analyzed how artistic interventions can promote empowerment and capacity-building among individuals and communities. The results revealed that art, when used from a social perspective, can be an effective tool in addressing issues such as human rights, poverty, and inequality. Four key phases in the intervention were identified: diagnosis, planning, action, and closure. The research highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between social workers and artists, as well as the need to consider the socio-cultural context of the participants. This methodological approach provides social workers with a framework to implement art-based interventions, enhancing their ability to promote change and social justice. Furthermore, the study underscores the need for stronger training in artistic practices within social work education and suggests future research directions to validate and expand this methodological proposal in various social intervention contexts.
Minimum income schemes have traditionally been implemented by the Autonomous Governments with two objectives: to guarantee a basic income and to promote the socio-labor insertion of the beneficiaries. To this end, social and labor inclusion pathways, as well as economic and professional incentives in Spain, have been designed. The introduction of the Minimum Vital Income, implemented by the General State Administration, represented a turning point in the minimum income scenario in Spain. Thus, on the one hand, the purpose of this article is to analyze the regional management model between the Valencian Inclusion Income and the Minimum Vital Income. In particular, given the limited development of inclusion pathways in the Minimum Vital Income, the article focuses on studying the experience of the Pilotem project, a program developed by the Valencian authorities to promote and develop social inclusion itineraries for the minimum income beneficiaries. The findings indicate that, despite the mechanisms and strategies aimed at favoring the coexistence of both benefits, significant barriers and limitations remain in terms of management and governance. As well as in the identification of certain prejudices for users, such as the perception of undue charges. Among the main conclusions, the need to overcome the limitations arising from the lack of interoperability between the two services is highlighted.
While the terms "interview" and "dialogue" are sometimes used interchangeably, in the context of Social Action, it is important to distinguish between them. The interview, in its traditional sense, can be considered a more structured way of gathering information, although, as we will see, it is not, while dialogue represents a more open and collaborative approach to the joint construction of meaning and the exploration of new possibilities. The traditional interview may be marked by an imbalance of power, where the interviewer assumes the role of expert and the interviewees are in a subordinate position. The classic interview in Social Work, influenced by the medical-clinical model and case work, focused primarily on seeking a change in behavior and the adaptation of the subject to the environment. From a more pragmatic perspective, the traditional interview is considered a technique for collecting information to make diagnoses and develop action plans. Dialogue from a collaborative praxis is characterized by the joint participation of professionals and citizens in the construction of meanings. It is not a mere transmission of information, but a process of co-creation of new perspectives and possibilities. Dialogue seeks a horizontal and egalitarian relationship, where the voices of both participants confront each other with respect. There is a recognition of the experience and knowledge of each person. It is these differences of complementary contrasts that are addressed in this text for reading, analysis, action, and open debate.
The article reports on research focused on the main Spanish-speaking debates in the scientific literature of social work, commemorating a century of disciplinary development. The study uses a bibliometric design exploring the scientific production of the Social Work category, in the main catalog in the Web of Science database, covering the period from 2008 to 2025. Among the main findings emerges the notable asymmetry in scientific production with a marked predominance of Anglo-Saxon publications and the underrepresentation of works in Spanish: 98.29% of the publications are in English, while only 0.95% are in Spanish. Similarly, in the analyses that contrast the citations received by the works in English and Spanish, differences are observed with ratios of 150 to 1 and 200 to 1. The study, through an analysis of the conceptual structure of the documents analyzed, identifies three clusters of central and prominent debates in the Spanish-speaking disciplinary scientific literature, which revolve around the themes: Social Work, Gender and Family, highlighting by total appearances, the social work cluster that registers the highest centralities, which suggests a broad discussion in the disciplinary community, but at the same time registers low density, which indicates that these discussions are not deeply developed, which highlights the imperative need to develop studies and research that enrich the disciplinary reflections of social work. The analyses highlight the need to strengthen the visibility and impact of scientific production in Spanish in order to balance the geopolitical representation of knowledge and aim at its democratization.

Professional practice is constructed through the lived experiences of practitioners themselves. This study aims to understand how social workers describe their frontline practice within municipal social services in Castilla y Le & oacute;n. Aqualitative, theory-driven methodologywas employed. Drawing on doctoral theses addressing this topic in Spain, a codebook was developed comprising four key dimensions: professional identity, disciplinary projection, object of intervention, and claims and suggestions for change. Twenty-five social workers participated in self-administered online interviews. Their accounts highlighted professional ethics as the foundation of their interventions. Regarding contextual factors, participants articulated demands and suggestions for change, pointing to professionalization arising from the organization of social services. Recurrent references were made to caring practices, relational social work, and emotional strain. In conclusion, participants identified with a deontology-based approach to social work practice, drawing on theories of change and motivation. They described their primary role as providing emotional support, while expressing concern about the deterioration in intervention quality due to excessive bureaucracy and heavy workloads.
The aim of this study is to identify whether there is a combination of dimensions constituting resilience based on their intensity within resilient profiles of a student sample. It also aims to analyze whether the obtained profiles influence students' academic performance and quality of life. Finally, differences in resilient profiles based on sociodemographic and academic variables were studied. The Resilience Scale (1993) and the Spanish version of the WHOQOL (2009) were administered to 516 students with different social science majors from two universities in Alicante, aged between 20 and 45 years (M = 22.25; SD = 4.33). Cluster analysis identified three resilient profiles: a first profile with high resilience, a profile with low resilience, and a third profile with low scores in personal competence, high personal and life acceptance, and low self-discipline. Additionally, statistically significant differences were found between profiles regarding students' academic performance and quality of life, with students exhibiting high resilience showing higher academic success and better quality of life. This highlights the need to work with resilience and design and develop courses with this potential to promote students' academic success and quality of life.
ENG Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyse the role of the family and institutional social agents in relation to alcohol consumption and use of social networks among young people. The research methodology consisted of in-depth interviews and discussion groups conducted with people under 24 years of age who maintain profiles on the Instagram social network. The results of this study show that alcohol use among young people is normalised in the family environment and the dominant discourse focuses on responsible use. Social media contributes to this normalisation, with frequent publications of friends or family members engaging in risky behavior, with alcohol consumption to the forefront. In view of these findings, it is considered essential to carry out interventions in family and institutional contexts (education, health and others), including interaction social spaces such as Instagram and other online communities. We believe that social work plays an important role in the improvement of health and that it is key to prevent the abuse of psychoactive substances through the development of preventive intervention programmes and policies aimed at young people.
