This paper introduces a new fragment of the Old Uyghur version of the Samantabhadracary & amacr;-pranidh & amacr;na. The fragment was collected by Luo Zhenyu (sic)(sic)(sic) (1866-1940) and subsequently acquired by the Liaoning Provincial Museum, where it is preserved. The Old Uyghur text is written on the verso of a Chinese text. Like other Old Uyghur translations of the Samantabhadracary & amacr;-pranidh & amacr;na, the Old Uyghur part of the text is written in alliterating verses. Some of these verses fill gaps in the Uyghur translation, making the text especially valuable. The Old Uyghur fragment contains a number of lines that do not correspond precisely with the Chinese text. It can be hypothesized that this is either a selective copy of the Old Uyghur Samantabhadracary & amacr;-pranidh & amacr;na, or a Chinese text of which we are not aware served as the basis of its translation. This is significant for studying the characteristics of Anzang's Old translation of the Samantabhdracary & amacr;-pranidh & amacr;na.
The Dunhuang manuscripts, a pivotal legacy of the Silk Road, are preserved mainly as fragmented pieces, presenting substantial challenges for reassembly. Currently, fragment matching relies heavily on expert judgment, with handwriting style consistency as a key visual clue. However, this approach suffers from low efficiency and entails considerable temporal demands. To address this issue, we propose a hybrid network model that integrates a MobileNet-based convolutional branch for local feature extraction with a Transformer branch for capturing global contextual patterns, thereby simulating the expert visual comparison process. Building upon the handwriting style matching strategy, we reformulate the matching task into a consistency classification problem, effectively achieving reduced complexity and improved interpretability. We constructed the DSE-Rejoin dataset with 63,608 high-resolution images of Dunhuang manuscript fragments featuring diverse handwriting styles and damage levels. Experiments on this dataset achieved 95.17% accuracy, 95.06% precision, 95.17% recall, and 95.06% F1 score.
This paper introduces several new fragments that were collected by Luo Zhenyu (sic) (1866-1940) and subsequently acquired by the Liaoning Provincial Museum. In 1928, Luo relocated from Tianjin to Liaoning, transporting his extensive collection with him. He resided in Liaoning for 12 years until his demise, during which time his collections were integrated into the museum's holdings. The fragment we are publishing here is one of the items. Our research indicates that the pieces assembled by museum staff are parts of two leaves. The Uighur text corresponds to a section of chapter 32 of the Buddhavatamsaka Sutra in forty chapters.
In this paper we would like to introduce two newly identified Old Uyghur fragments kept in the Research Department of Dunhuang Academy, China. The first one (D0913) is a small fragment which we identified as part of another copy of the Ci'en zhuan , namely of a colophon to the 4(th) book of the Old Uyghur translation. The second one (D0623) written on the verso side of a Chinese Buddhist scroll of T. 643 is an Old Uyghur poem which can be compared to the Ratnasurya avadana.

ABSTRACTIn this paper the authors edit two Old Uigur fragments that recently became accessible from Dunhuang. Both are parts of the unknown commentary on the Yuanjue jing of which already some other remnants were edited.
In this paper, we introduce some new fragments preserved at the Dunhuang Academy. These are five detached pieces of a Chinese scroll of the Prajnaparamitasutra (Da banruo boluomiduo jing). The first text on the verso side is a conversation between a brahman and the Buddha. It is similar to the Kasibharadvaja sutta which is a talk between a brahman working as a ploughman and the Buddha who comes to him to beg for food. One gets the impression that the Old Uigur text is essentially based on the Pali text. After a long gap, the second text presents quatrains following the metrical structure of Buddhist verses, as they were widespread among the Old Uigurs. We edit the texts with transliteration and transcription, as well as offer an English translation accompanied by comments.
Many wooden block printed manuscripts in Chinese, Tangut, Uighur, Tibetan, Mongolian, San-skrit, and Uighur have been found in Cave B464 of the Northern Area at Mogao, the most significant of which are several inscriptions in Uighur written on the walls of the middle chamber, the connecting corridor, and the back chamber of this cave. Among the Mogao caves found so far, this is the only one with so many Uighur in-scriptions. Deciphering these inscriptions not only revises the previous interpretations of Mogao wall paintings, including a relevant image of the Pilgrimage of Sudhanakumara, but also helps researchers to infer that the extant murals could only have been completed no later than the Yuan dynasty, meaning that this particular cave was built sometime during the Yuan dynasty.
In this paper the authors edit two Old Uigur fragments that have recently become accessible from Dunhuang. The first is part of a poem on the famous story of King Bimbasāra and his wife Vaidehī that was popular in Pure Land Buddhism. The second is a kind of a commentary that uses Chinese phrases in original Chinese script.
The fragment we are publishing here is preserved in the Academia Turfanica. It belongs to the second chapter of the first volume of the Altun Yaruk Sudur in old Uigur. There are some words that are apparently different from the other version(s) of the text.
