Enteral administration (every day, 10 times) of zinc aspartate (33 mg/kg) or zinc sulfate (25 mg/kg) to young rats weighing 50 - 60 g induces an amino acid imbalance in the blood plasma, liver, and myocardium. Zinc sulfate causes much more pronounced changes in the amino acid balance in the liver and myocardium, as compared to that in rats treated with zinc aspartate. One possible mechanism of the above changes can be the effect of zinc salts on nutrient absorption processes and metabolic features of zinc cations in the small intestine.
Zinc being a microelement necessary for normal cell growth, its development and differentiation is a component of the catalytic site of more than 300 enzymes and determines the structure of transcription factors, thereby participating in the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and cell division. Liver is the main organ involved in the metabolism of zinc. The endogenous zinc deficiency develops in chronic liver diseases such as alcoholic steatohepatitis, chronic viral hepatitis B or C and, especially in liver cirrhosis. Numerous studies have shown the advisability of including zinc supplements to standard hepatitis treatment protocols. Zinc combined with pegylated interferon and prescribed to patients with chronic viral hepatitis C is more effective, than interferon by itself.
The effect of infliximab (1 and 10 mg/kg, i.p., during 10 days) on alcoholic steatohepatitis has been studied in rats fed with ethanol-containing liquid diet over 10 weeks. Both doses of infliximab showed immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects, whereas only the maximum drug dose significantly decreased lipid accumulation in the liver. It can be concluded that infliximab (10 mg/kg) acts as an effective hepatoprotector, anti-inflammatory agent, and immunomodulator in rats with experimental alcoholic steatohepatitis.
Dose-dependent effects of monoclonal antibodies to tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFa) in the form of infliximab preparation have been studied in Wistar rats upon with alcohol intoxication for 10 weeks (Lieber- De Carli liquid diet). It is established that the intraperitoneal administration of infliximab within the last 10 days of alcoholization in doses of 1 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg leads to dose-dependent changes in individual indices of the free amino acids pool and the amino acid balance in blood lymphocytes. Infliximab administered on the background of alcohol intoxication increases the pool of free amino acids and activates their metabolism in rat blood lymphocytes, which is probably due to inactivation of TNFalpha and adaptive changes in the amino acid transport system.
The article describes the effect of alcohol solutions of rhodamine, coumarin, Nile blue and chlorophyllipt photosensitizers, introduced into the free abdominal cavity, on biochemical blood indices and nonspecific resistance of white rat organism. The changes in general and biochemical blood tests as well as in certain indices of nonspecific immunity were analyzed, the index of leukocyte intoxication by N.I. Jabchinski and leukocyte intoxication index being calculated. It has been established that 0.1% alcohol solutions of rhodamine, coumarin, Nile blue and chlorophyllipt do not cause any considerable changes in homeostasis in experimental animals which proves the possibility of their prospective application by means of photodynamic lazer therapy in the treatment of peritoneal and visceral inflammation in clinical practice in the in-patient settings.

Single intragastric injection of tritarg leads to different multidirectional changes in the concentration of free proteinogenic amino acids in the blood serum and lymphocytes isolated from the blood and liver. Changes in the amino acid stock of blood and liver lymphocytes were observed 3 and 24 hours after the drug injection. The changes in concentrations of individual free amino acids are more pronounced in liver lymphocytes than in blood lymphocytes. There is a decrease in the content of proteinogenic amino acids in blood serum, which may reflect the supply of these compounds to cells and is indicative of the stimulation of polypeptide and protein synthesis.
The authors have performed a complex clinical and laboratory investigation of 81 patients with complicated and uncomplicated psoriasis accompanied by presence or absence of chlamydia infection. The characteristic of cellular and humoral immunity basic indicators and the estimation of their changes are represented in the research.
The determination of the concentrations of free amino acids and their derivatives in serum and in blood lymphocytes of rats was performed in 3 h and 24 h after single intragastric administration of tauzinc in the dose of 400 mg / kg. We found the reduction in the total number of amino acids in blood serum, the number of branched chain amino acids (BCAA), as well as the reduction of the proportion of BCAA in the total pool of essential amino acids. The amount of proteinogenic amino acids in the serum reduced as well. In blood lymphocytes, on the contrary, the amount of proteinogenic amino acids in 3 h after the injection of the drug reliably increased, however, in 24 h the total number of free amino acids in blood lymphocytes did not differ from the control values. Mainly, the levels of nonessential amino acids increased, and in 24 h reliable decrease in the concentrations of essential amino acids was observed, which manifested itself in the increased ratio of the sum of proteinogenic amino acids to nonproteinogenic derivative amino acids. In animals treated with tauzinc marked change in the concentrations of methionine, cystathionine and taurine was noted. Thus, single intragastric administration of tauzinc impoverishes the pool of free amino acids and their derivatives in blood serum, increasing at the same time their content in blood lymphocytes.
The experiment on 54 infant rats aged 15, 45 and 90 days 31 of which were born under experimental cholestasis of pregnancy (on the 17th day) employing hematologic, immunological and biochemical methods has shown that cholestasis results in the reduction in the leucocyte number as well as lower humoral and cellular indices of nonspecific resistance, increased lipid peroxidation indices in stomach tissues associated with the decrease in antioxidant defense factors in progeny on the 15th day after birth. The death rate of infant rats in this period is maximal. Elevation of the number of leucocytes particularly of lymphocytes and segmented neutrophils during later stages of development is accompanied by the increase in humoral and cellular indices of nonspecific resistance while the level of Schiff’s bases remains elevated and that of diene conjugates gradually decreases. The level of a-tocopheryl increases slightly and catalase activity continues to decrease.
The determination offree proteinogenous amino acids concentrations in the lymphocytes released from peripheral blood as well as from liver tissues and thymus ofrats showed all twenty amino acids involved in protein biosynthesis to be present in these cells. Regardless the source of lymphocytes release (blood, liver, thymus) a definite system of free amino acids gradient probably defined by their regulatory and metabolic potential is preserved in them.
