We present a new measurement of the CKM matrix element $|V_{cb}|$ from $ B^{0} rightarrow D^{*}ell nu$ decays, reconstructed with full Belle data set ($711 , rm fb^{-1}$). Two form factor parameterisations, based on work by the CLN and BGL groups, are used to extract the product $mathcal{F}(1)eta_{rm EW}|V_{cb}|$ and the decay form factors, where $mathcal{F}(1)$ is the factor normalisation and $eta_{rm EW}$ is a small electroweak correction. In the CLN parameterisation we find $mathcal{F}(1)eta_{rm EW}|V_{cb}| = (35.06 pm 0.15 pm 0.54) times 10^{-3}$, $rho^{2}=1.106 pm 0.031 pm 0.007$, $R_{1}(1)=1.229 pm 0.028 pm 0.009$, $R_{2}(1)=0.852 pm 0.021 pm 0.006$. In the BGL parameterisation we find $mathcal{F}(1)eta_{rm EW}|V_{cb}|= 38.73 pm 0.25 pm 0.60$, which is higher but consistent with the determination from inclusive semileptonic $B$ decays when correcting for $mathcal{F}(1)eta_{rm EW}$. This is the most precise measurement of $mathcal{F}(1)eta_{rm EW}|V_{cb}|$ and form factors that has ever been carried out, and the first direct study of the BGL form factor parameterisation in an experimental measurement.
Abstract We present the first measurement of the Michel parameters η ‾ and ξκ in the radiative leptonic decay of the τ lepton using 703 fb-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e − collider. The Michel parameters are measured by an unbinned maximum likelihood fit to the kinematic information of e + e − → τ + τ − → ( π + π 0 ν ‾ ) ( l − ν ν ‾ γ ) ( l = e or μ ) . The preliminary values of the measured Michel parameters are η ‾ = − 2.0 ± 1.5 ± 0.8 and ξ κ = 0.6 ± 0.4 ± 0.2 , where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic.
We report a measurement of the ratio R(D*) = B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(+)tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau))/B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(+)l(-)(nu) over bar (l))where l denotes an electron or a muon. The results are based on a data sample containing 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs recorded at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. We select a sample of B-0(B) over bar (0) pairs by reconstructing both B mesons in semileptonic decays to D*(-/+)l(+/-). We measure R(D*) = 0.302 +/- 0.030(stat) +/- 0.011(syst), which is within 1.6 sigma of the Standard Model theoretical expectation, where the standard deviation sigma includes systematic uncertainties. We use this measurement to constrain several scenarios of new physics in a model-independent approach.

We report the first measurement of the lepton forward-backward asymmetry A_ FB as a function of the squared four-momentum of the dilepton system, q^2, for the electroweak penguin process B → X_s ℓ^+ ℓ^- with a sum of exclusive final states, where ℓ is an electron or a muon and X_s is a hadronic recoil system with an s quark. The results are based on a data sample containing 772×10^6 BB̅ pairs recorded at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^+ e^- collider. A_ FB for the inclusive B → X_s ℓ^+ ℓ^- is extrapolated from the sum of 10 exclusive X_s states whose invariant mass is less than 2 GeV/c^2. For q^2 > 10.2 GeV^2/c^2, A_ FB < 0 is excluded at the 2.3σ level, where σ is the standard deviation. For q^2 < 4.3 GeV^2/c^2, the result is within 1.8σ of the Standard Model theoretical expectation.
We have searched for the decay ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\phi}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ using the full Belle data set of $772\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $B\overline{B}$ pairs collected at the $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Upsilon}}(4\text{S})$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. No signal is observed, and we set an upper limit on the branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}({B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\phi}\ensuremath{\gamma})<1.0\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}7}$ at the 90% confidence level. This is the most stringent limit on this decay mode to date.
We search for the process B-0 -> pi(-) tau(+)nu(tau) using the full Belle data set of 711 fb(-1), corresponding to 772 x 10(6)B (B) over bar pairs, collected at the gamma (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We reconstruct one B meson in a hadronic decay and search for the B-0 -> pi(-)tau(+)nu(tau) process in the remainder of the event. No significant signal is observed and an upper limit of B(B-0 -> pi(-) tau(+)nu(tau)) < 2.5 x 10(-4) is obtained at the 90% confidence level.
We report the first measurement of the τ lepton polarization in the decay B̅→ D^* τ^- ν̅_τ as well as a new measurement of the ratio of the branching fractions R(D^*) = ℬ(B̅→ D^* τ^- ν̅_τ) / ℬ(B̅→ D^* ℓ^- ν̅_ℓ), where ℓ^- denotes an electron or a muon, with the decays τ^- →π^- ν_τ and τ^- →ρ^- ν_τ. We use the full data sample of 772 × 10^6 BB̅ pairs accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB electron-positron collider. Our preliminary results, R(D^*) = 0.276 ± 0.034 (stat.) ^+0.029 _-0.026 (syst.) and P_τ = -0.44 ± 0.47 (stat.) ^+0.20 _-0.17 (syst.), are consistent with the theoretical predictions of the Standard Model within 0.6 standard deviation.
We report a measurement of the B-0 -> psi(2S)pi(0) branching fraction based on the full Upsilon(4S) data set of 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We obtain B(B-0 -> psi(2S)pi(0)) = (1.17 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.08(syst)) x 10(-5). The result has a significance of 7.2 standard deviations and is the first observation of the decay B-0 -> psi(2S)pi(0).
Using data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider, we measure the energy dependence of the e^{+}e^{-}→h_{b}(nP)π^{+}π^{-} (n=1, 2) cross sections from thresholds up to 11.02 GeV. We find clear ϒ(10860) and ϒ(11020) peaks with little or no continuum contribution. We study the resonant substructure of the ϒ(11020)→h_{b}(nP)π^{+}π^{-} transitions and find evidence that they proceed entirely via the intermediate isovector states Z_{b}(10610) and Z_{b}(10650). The relative fraction of these states is loosely constrained by the current data: The hypothesis that only Z_{b}(10610) is produced is excluded at the level of 3.3 standard deviations, while the hypothesis that only Z_{b}(10650) is produced is not excluded at a significant level.

We report inclusive and exclusive measurements for ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}$ and ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c2}$ production in $B$ decays. We measure $\mathcal{B}(B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}X)=(3.03\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.05(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.24(\mathrm{syst}))\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$ and $\mathcal{B}(B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c2}X)=(0.70\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.06(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}0.10(\mathrm{syst}))\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$. For the first time, ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c2}$ production in exclusive $B$ decays in the modes ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c2}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}^{+}$ and ${B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c2}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}^{+}$ has been observed, along with first evidence for the ${B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c2}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{K}_{S}^{0}$ decay mode. For ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}$ production, we report the first observation in the ${B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}^{+}$, ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}_{S}^{0}$ and ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}^{+}$ decay modes. Using these decay modes, we observe a difference in the production mechanism of ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c2}$ in comparison to ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}$ in $B$ decays. In addition, we report searches for $X(3872)$ and ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}(2P)$ in the ${B}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}({\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}){K}^{+}$ decay mode. The reported results use $772\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $B\overline{B}$ events collected at the $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Upsilon}}(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider.

We report a measurement of the amplitude ratio r(S) of B-0 -> (DK)-K-0*(0) and B-0 -> (D) over bar K-0*(0) decays with a Dalitz analysis of D -> K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-) decays, for the first time using a model-independent method. We set an upper limit r(S) < 0.87 at the 68% confidence level, using the full data sample of 711 fb(-1) corresponding to 772 x 10(6) B<(B)over bar> pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. This result is obtained from observables x(-) = +0.4(-0.6-0.1)(+1.0+0.0) +/- 0.0, y(-) = -0.6(-1.0-0.0)(+0.8+0.1) +/- 0.1, x(+) = +0.1(-0.4-0.1)(+0.7+0.0) +/- 0.1, and y(+) = +0.3(-0.8-0.1)(+0.5+0.0) +/- 0.1, where x(+/-) = r(S) cos(delta(S) +/- phi(3)), y(+/-) = r(S) sin(delta(S) +/- phi(3)), and phi(3) (delta(S)) is the weak (strong) phase difference between B-0 -> D0K*(0) and B-0 -> (D) over bar K-0*(0).
We report a measurement of the CP-violation parameter phi(1) obtained in a time-dependent analysis of B-0 -> (D) over bar(*)(0)h(0) decays followed by (D) over bar (0) -> K-S(0)pi(+)pi decay. A model-independent measurement is performed using the binned Dalitz plot technique. The measured value is phi(1) = 11.7 degrees +/- 7.8 degrees(stat) +/- 2.1 degrees (syst). Treating sin 2 phi(1) and cos 2 phi(1) as independent parameters, we obtain sin 2 phi(1) = 0.43 +/- 0.27(stat) +/- 0.08(syst) and cos 2 phi(1) = 1.06 +/- 0.33(stat)(-0.15)(+0.21)(syst). The results are obtained with a full data sample of 772 x 10(6)B (B) over bar pairs collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider.
