The use of innovative approaches in military affairs allows achieving significant success both on the battlefield and in training. The world's leading armies are considering modernizing the physical training of female military personnel and have focused on finding ways to improve the physical fitness of female servicewomen. Unfortunately, the overemphasis in military history and legacy on aerobic fitness and “field expediency” as the primary criteria for training implementation has limited the extent to which the military has fully implemented state-of-the-art PT policies. This inherited approach can be problematic in fully enhancing women's ability to perform physically demanding combat tasks and can put the successful integration of women into ground combat MOSs at significant risk. Purpose: to get acquainted with the introduction of new ideas and technologies in the physical education of female servicemen in both Ukrainian and foreign armies and, based on the results obtained, to propose directions for improving the level of physical fitness of female servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Material and Methods: Analysis of scientific literature and documentary sources on the problems of physical training of female servicewomen; generalization and systematization of theoretical knowledge related to the trends in the development of physical training of female servicewomen in the scientific and methodological literature. Results: Some Ukrainian scholars have considered the use of innovative approaches to improve the physical fitness of military personnel. The study found that the armed forces of the United States of America and the United Kingdom have created special research units that have been conducting in-depth research on the problems of physical training of female servicewomen in the modern army over the past ten years. The use of the following technologies has been established: information and communication, differentiated physical education, and health preservation technology. In addition, the above countries are developing a physical training strategy to optimize the performance of women servicewomen in combat professions. Conclusions. Having analyzed the scientific works of Ukrainian and foreign authors, it should be noted that in order to improve the level of physical fitness of female servicewomen, it is necessary to use technologies that allow taking into account the physiological characteristics of women and using the strengths of the female body when creating physical training programs for female servicewomen in combat specialties.
Physical training in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a system needs to be reformed and new solutions to the tasks of ensuring the physical readiness of military personnel for combat operations should be found. The experience of the war with the Russian aggressor proves that the level of training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine must be very high against the background of continuous armed clashes with the use of modern means of fire, including the use of tank weapons. Systematic combat engagements require tankers to strain all body systems. Along with the mental stress, the physical system of the tank crew members is also under considerable strain. Long-term involvement of servicemen in the performance of military and professional tasks in extreme conditions can cause maladjustment, a decrease in the body's ability to adapt to environmental conditions, overstrain of the nervous and mental system and the emergence of negative persistent mental states. The scientific article is devoted to the study and analysis of the subjective opinion of tank servicemen with different terms of study regarding their attitude to the content, organization and conduct of physical training during their studies at a military institution of higher education, taking into account the peculiarities of their future military and professional activities and the performance of tasks in the future, taking into account the combat experience of previous years.
The problems of health disorders and disabilities among military personnel in the security forces today, in the context of warfare, are quite relevant for any social environment, peoples and the country as a whole, which requires the attention of the state leadership and scientists in the search, development and implementation of the latest technologies adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities, taking into account their needs. It is worth noting that in recent years, the attitude to this category of servicemen has changed significantly and health disorders are considered a social phenomenon. The scientific article is devoted to the study and analysis of problems related to adaptive physical culture and sports for military personnel with health disabilities. The author proposes a set of measures to address them, and emphasizes the need to create conditions, scientifically based training programs and specialized sports facilities for physical exercises for servicemen with disabilities, their accessibility, and improvement of the regulatory framework based on the realities of servicemen's participation in combat operations.
Topicality. The success of military professional activity depends on the soldiers` training and education peculiarities, which must be created using the certain methods of influence and characteristics of military personnel. The conditions of combat operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the aggressor of the russian federation and the maintenance of an appropriate level of combat readiness of servicemen require new approaches to improving the means of training, education and formation of soldier`s physical and psychological readiness to act in difficult conditions in order to successfully perform military professional activities. Thus, the formation and interconnection of the military professional training tasks and servicemen`s physical fitness remains an urgent issue. The purpose to analyze and determine the impact of the development of physical qualities and military-applied skills of servicemen on the effectiveness of performing military and professional tasks. Methods. Analysis of scientific and methodological literature, testing, and methods of mathematical statistics have been used in the research. Results. It has been established that physically trained soldiers are more maneuverable on the battlefield (by 20-35%), successfully perform combat training tasks and standards (by 15-20% faster) than soldiers with a low level of physical fitness. The data obtained on the low level of combat preparedness indicate insufficient moral and psychological readiness to endure significant physical and psychological stress in a combat situation, both in combat and physical trainings. It has been found that the functional state of the body and the excellent development of basic physical qualities have a positive effect on the main indicators of combat readiness of personnel and significantly affect the results of the effective performance of military and professional activities. Conclusions. The research made it possible to find out that excellent physical condition is an integral part of the quality and successful performance of assigned tasks in accordance with the position held and the foundation of their combat readiness.
Background and Study Aim. Considering that there are no studies aimed at identifying the components of physical and functional fitness in arm wrestling at the stage of preliminary basic training, and it is not advisable to transfer training of adult athletes to training of young men, then determining the influence and comparison of various aspects of fitness on the effectiveness of competitive activity of arm wrestlers acquires both theoretical and practical importance. Hence the purpose of the study – to determine the significance of the influence of various aspects of fitness (functional, physical) to identify factors influencing the effectiveness of competitive activity of junior armwrestlers aged 14-15. Material and Methods. The study involved 29 young men aged 14–15 years involved in arm wrestling, they were divided into two groups: 9 athletes (14.67 ± 0.17 years) who were distinguished by high competitive performance and 20 athletes (14.45 ± 0.11 years) of the general group. Morphofunctional data, indicators of general physical, special strength and speed-strength preparedness were determined using test exercises. Statistical analysis of the obtained data was performed using licensed programs Microsoft Excel and STATISTICA 10. In the course of statistical analysis, the following parameters were determined and calculated: maximum (F) and relative (F1 = ƩF / m) strength, kg; total strength index in four strength exercises (ƩF = F1 + F2 + F3 + F4), kg; average strength, index of four exercises ( F = ƩF / 4), kg; time to reach maximum strength (Ʃt = t1 + t2 + t3 + t4), s; speed-strength index (J = ƩF / Ʃt), kg*ms-1; total strength gradient of four exercises (Ʃt0,5F), ms; speed-strength index in the first 500 ms (J500 = ƩF500 / Ʃt500), kg*ms-1; time to reach 1 kg force (t1 = Ʃt0.5F / (0.5×F), ms*kg-1; factor analysis. Results. According to anthropometric parameters, the leaders have significantly better results in weight and height (p < 0.01), and the body mass index was higher in the general group, but the difference was not significant (p > 0.05). Functional parameters differed significantly only in the Stange and Genchi tests (p < 0.01), as well as in the strength index of both arms (p < 0.05). Analysis of the general physical fitness of the leaders and the general group parameters revealed significant differences in 5 of the 6 exercises tested. The significantly high result of the arm wrestlers is supported by high parameters of special physical fitness, namely: strength parameters in two test exercises (hook and wrist bending), as well as the overall total strength parameter of the left and right arms (p<0.05). The speed-strength indicators of both hands also differed significantly in the average strength indicator, strength gradient, strength at 500 ms, speed-strength index at 500 ms, relative strength, and time to achieve a force of 1 kg (Student's t-test ranged from 2.06 to 5.84 at p < 0.05–0.001). Factor analysis confirmed the high influence of anthropometric data and speed-strength fitness indicators on the effectiveness of arm wrestlers’ competitive activities at the studied stage of preparation. Conclusions. In order to create the foundations for high results and sports improvement at the stage of preliminary basic training, it is necessary to provide for a predominantly significant development of strength and speed-strength capabilities, since the results obtained indicate that the growth of athletes' performance with the appropriate system of sports training is accompanied by a significant increase in maximum strength, an improvement in the indicators of starting, acceleration and fast strength in the first 500 ms of muscle tension, due to an improvement in the index and gradient of strength, the time to achieve a strength of 1 kg.
The strategy of modern higher education should form a specialist who is able not only to realize the accumulated potential of knowledge, abilities and skills, but also to go beyond the limits of regulated activities, which characterizes the tendency to increase the role of the “human factor” in all spheres of work, including in the military sphere. Therefore, the purpose of the research was to study and determine the effectiveness of the influence of CrossFit on the dynamics of indicators of physical fitness of young people. We conducted a comparative analysis of the level and dynamics of physical fitness of young people (17.6 ±0.2 years old; range: 17–21 years old), who during their studies, were systematically engaged in CrossFit activities (n = 24), and students who had PE classes run according to the existing program of physical education in higher education institutions (n = 23). The level of physical fitness was determined according to the results of exams andcredits in physical education. The study of the level of physical fitness of young people showed that the use of CrossFit leads to better resultsof basic physical qualities and positive changes in the human body (t = 4.44; p < 0.001).
Physical training as a set of measures for the physical improvement of servicemen aimed at developing general and special physical qualities, forming military-applied skills, educating moral and psychological qualities, as well as a major component of combat training, plays an important and fundamental role in preparing future defenders for combat operations in accordance with their position. The conditions and situation of armed aggression by the Russian Federation remain the subject of close attention of many researchers and the search for ways to ensure quality training of the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, maintain their combat capability at a high level, as well as improve the necessary skills and abilities of military professional activities that would further ensure the successful completion of combat missions. The scientific work is devoted to the analysis of the main criteria for assessing the combat capability of future officers, as well as the study of the main indicators that positively affect the level of combat capability of military specialists throughout the entire period of training and after mastering the relevant specialty, determining the importance of those indicators that are important for the qualitative and comprehensive mastery of physical training skills of cadets.
Abstract. The systematic involvement of military personnel in the implementation of combat training activities, participation in tactical and command and staff exercises is characterized by a high variety of actions and constant performance of tasks in extreme conditions. As is known, modern military operations carry danger and a threat to the life of every soldier, and the psycho-emotional load reaches its peak, which in turn predicts an increase in mental load in the conditions of modern military operations, which are conducted on the territory of our state against the aggressor of the Russian Federation. Taking into account the specifics of each combat situation and the specifics of each soldier's tasks, mental stress ranges from mild excitement to paralyzing fear. Analyzing today's conditions, the actions caused by the invasion of the aggressor and the involvement of personnel to repel armed aggression, the condition experienced by each serviceman during hostilities, the use of weapons and equipment, we can state that modern combat does not exclude the occurrence of close combat between servicemen with the enemy, who can go into hand-to-hand combat, which is a weapon that cannot be seen, but which is always available with the soldier. Taking into account the above, there is a need to improve the psychological readiness of servicemen for military- professional activities using means of hand-to-hand combat.
Success in a modern fast-paced and maneuverable battle requires the use of high-precision weapons, the effectiveness of which is possible with the use of satellite navigation systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, etc. At the same time, the experience of combat operations on the territory of Ukraine has shown that even if they cannot be used, and sometimes even in their absence, the ability to navigate with a conventional map is an important condition for the successful completion of a combat mission. The purpose of the study is to experimentally investigate the effectiveness of the methodology for teaching orienteering to cadets majoring in artillery intelligence, taking into account the requirements of competitive activity in the conditions of real training and competitive process of orienteering athletes. Material and methods of the research. To solve the tasks, we organized and conducted a pedagogical observation to determine the arsenal of means and methods of physical training of orienteering cadets in the process of studying at a military university and a pedagogical experiment to test the effectiveness of the physical training program for cadets majoring in artillery intelligence. There were 20 respondents, including 10 men of the artillery intelligence specialty with a minimum level of orienteering training (EO) and 10 male athletes who have been involved in orienteering for 2–3 years. The respondents are 18-25 years old (average age – 20.8±0.2). Results. It has been established that during the experiment there was a significant increase in the cadets’ fitness indicators compared to the beginning of the study. At the end of the study, the level of training of artillery cadets differs from athletes of the KMU and MSU level at a distance (sprint in the city by 28.9 %; sprint in the park by 37.7 %; extended distance in the forest by 26.4 %). Conclusions. The conducted research and analysis of the results showed that the level of preparedness of cadets specializing in artillery reconnaissance was significantly reduced compared to the beginning of the training process. At the end of the experiment, the training process was aimed more at developing endurance than at developing speed, which is important for performing tasks in real combat operations, and the cadets’ technical skills in map reading, which is necessary for their specialty of artillery reconnaissance, increased.
The constant involvement of military personnel in the performance of duties in extreme conditions can contribute to maladaptation, a decrease in the body's adaptability to various environmental conditions, neuropsychological overstrain, and the emergence of persistent negative mental states in them. Therefore, the problem of forming the psychological readiness of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to perform the tasks of military and professional activity in today's conditions is urgent, because not only the effectiveness of the professional activity of servicemen, but also their personal safety depends on such readiness. The system of military-professional training of personnel is dynamic and constantly improving. A number of scientists claim that the most important direction of development and improvement of the system of military activity of soldiers is the development of certain methods and means that meet the requirements of the modern concept of the development of methods of military struggle, which are based on the formation of the necessary professional skills and abilities for successful adverse conditions of combat activity and military service. The question of forming the psychological preparedness of military personnel for actions in extreme situations, which are not only combat operations, but also certain tactical exercises, shooting with various types of weapons, changing the deployment and location of units, etc., remains relevant. It is physical training and means of hand-to-hand combat that can, to a certain extent, ensure the high-quality formation of the readiness of servicemen to act effectively in this or that extreme situation arising in the conditions of military service.

Scientific and technical progress in the military sphere requires the Armed Forces to constantly improve weapons and combat equipment, increases the requirements for combat skills, physical and mental preparedness of servicemen, and the training of highly qualified officers. The use of means of sports orientation can become an additional component in the formation of qualities necessary for the better formation of skills from exercises of a military nature, especially with regard to the development of willpower, improvement of physical and psychological readiness of military personnel. Sports orientation belongs to the types of sports that combine both long and intense physical and mental loads. It sets in motion not only the musculoskeletal system, but also activates the activity of the Central Nervous System. Therefore, the special qualities of an orienteer are endurance, dexterity, coordination and reaction speed, concentration of attention, creative thinking, strong-willed qualities such as determination, emotional stability, which is important for military personnel who perform combat tasks in the conditions of modern warfare. Thus, in order to increase the effectiveness of the tasks of military professional activity, the efficiency of the execution of operational tasks by military personnel requires high speed and coordination. The article considers a method of increasing the speed characteristics of artillery reconnaissance specialists by using elements of training of orienteers.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the adequacy of the standards of physical training of soldiers of the Ground Forces to the requirements that are objectively imposed on the physical fitness of soldiers by the content, nature and conditions of modern combat operations, as well as their equivalence to the tabular evaluation system; determine the possibility and expediency of their use in the educational process to assess the physical fitness of cadets. Materials and methods. To achieve the goal, a complex of general scientific research methods was used. The methods of theoretical analysis, synthesis, systematization, generalization of available information and practical experience were used to argue the main provisions of the research, generalize the available data, justify the place and role of control to ensure the effective functioning of the system of physical improvement of cadets of higher military educational institutions. The main material of the theoretical analysis was scientific articles and guiding documents on the management of physical training of military personnel of the leading countries in the military field of the world. Preference was given to printed official documentary materials, scientific articles and textbooks related to the development of methods for checking and assessing the physical condition of military personnel. Results and discussion. When assessing the physical fitness of the same cadets at the same time using the exercises of the standards of physical training of the Ground Forces soldiers and according to the requirements of the Physical Training Manual, radically opposite results were obtained. In accordance with the requirements of the standards, 100% of the personnel completed the established standards of control exercises and received a rating “completed”, and the physical readiness of the unit was rated “ready”. When assessing the physical fitness of cadets in accordance with the requirements of the 2021 Physical Training Instructions, only 53 cadets (42.4%) received positive evaluations, the remaining 72 cadets (57.6%) did not score the required 80 points in one or more exercises and, accordingly, received an unsatisfactory rating. The physical training of the unit according to the requirements of the 2021 Physical Training Instructions is also rated unsatisfactory. Conclusion. The norms of control exercises of the standards of physical training of servicemen of the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not equivalent to the norms of the tests of the tabular system for evaluating the physical fitness of servicemen, and their availability to cadets whose physical fitness is assessed as unsatisfactory according to the tabular system indicates their inadequacy to the requirements of combat activity for the physical fitness of servicemen. They do not allow obtaining reliable information about the level of physical readiness of personnel to perform combat tasks. Thus, their use in the educational process of physical education and special physical training to assess the physical fitness of cadets of military academies is inappropriate
In today's conditions, the analysis of the planning documentation on the organization of the educational process in the military educational institution showed the need to find relevant directions and methods of improving the level of training of mechanized troops in military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Given the lack of proper professional selection in physical training for higher military educational institutions, the purpose of our research is to conduct an analysis of the existing system of physical training of specialists of the mechanized forces of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, to study the existing problems and shortcomings and to propose ways to solve them. Thus, in order to increase the effectiveness of the educational process in the existing conditions, it is necessary to consider a comprehensive approach to the introduction of issues from special disciplines for specialists of mechanized units into the work program of the educational discipline (including classes close to the combat activity of infantry soldiers) and to develop and propose recommendations on improving the system of physical training in educational institutions of the Ground Forces of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
