Total Quality Management (TQM) facilitates the achievement of continuous quality improvement by implementing several strategies, techniques, system and tools. Out of them, ISO 9001 standard based Quality Management System (QMS) was adopted widely by the organisations for achieving continuous quality improvement. Yet the outcome has not been very effective due to the absence of immutability and traceability in the theory and practices of this approach. This deficiency can be overcome if blockchain technology is used. Hence, the need of the hour is to integrate blockchain technology with ISO 9001:2015 standard based QMS. In order to meet this need, a framework has been presented in this paper. This framework facilitates the usage of smart contracts and hyperledger for achieving traceability and immutability while operating the ISO 9001:2015 standard based QMS. Further, the application of Internet of Things and artificial intelligence are indicated for implementing this integrated framework to achieve the goals of implementing TQM. The paper is concluded by mentioning that implementation in organisations in which ISO 9001:2015 standard is under operation would facilitate to check the practical viability of the framework proposed in this paper.
The primary goal of this study is to optimize web content for a positive user experience and to develop a data-driven methodology to assess the success of visitor flow on a website for school children. Through Vision-Based Page Segmentation, the suggested study work intends to broaden the stated web approach’s reach and statistical inference. The improvisation has been made accordingly with the semantic structure observed from each node with the designated degree of coherence to indicate the content in spatial and block based on visual perception for each event. The click count (number of clicks) is calculated for all the possibilities of Quest Software. The most frequently accessed event is displayed at the top to enhance usability and visibility with an accuracy of about 92.80%. From the experimental analysis, it has been observed that most of the students preferred events corresponding to drawing, rhymes, and rangoli with a willingness rate of above 80%, respectively. Statistical analysis has been made using chi-square analysis, and it has been found that the levels from A to D are significant for three years with a P-value < 0.001. Sentimental analysis of feedback collected from the participants about the events is also done, and the most preferred event is suggested for the upcoming years.
Industry 4.0 comprises of some disruptive technologies which are creating a significant impact in every fields.Recent development in these technologies has created a huge impact in the conventional supply chain model which forces the companies to evolve new models to face the upcoming challenges.One such promising technology which will disrupt and change the entire view of supply chain transparency is Blockchain.Blockchain is basically a chain of blocks that contain information that is nearly impossible to tamper.Blockchain is defined as stack of information linked with each other in blocks and highly resistant to changes.It is a distributed ledger completely open to everyone.Once we enter data in Blockchain it becomes nearly impossible to change it which will give us the authenticity of the data.Based on the literature study, we found that integrating Blockchain in the supply chain will improve the efficiency of the supply chain exponentially.Every transaction that happens in a supply chain can be integrated and recorded in the blocks of a decentralized Blockchain (Distributed ledger) which will be shared will many computers thus increasing the transparency.As each block is connected with each other it becomes nearly impossible to change the entered record as tampering a single block may result in complete loss of data.This will improve the transparency of the supply chain in every stage and improve the supply chain security and efficiency.

Biodegradable polymer blend electrolytes based on Pectin–polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) with a constant amount of sodium nitrate (NaNO3) salt are prepared by using a solution casting technique. The complexation between polymers and salt is confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and the AC impedance technique is implied to analyze the ionic conductivity of the prepared samples. When synthetic polymer PVA is added with pectin, the ionic conductivity increases. Pectin: PVA:NaNO3[00.100.04] blend polymer electrolyte shows the higher ionic conductivity of 4.3×10−6 (S/cm) at room temperature. Further, the dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the polymer electrolytes are also analyzed.
: Portfolio Optimization is to evolve models to compute an optimal proportion of capital for investing with respects to the assets in the portfolio. Portfolio optimization covers a wide range of financial assets, such as stocks, funds, bonds, commodities, currencies and loans, whereas similar concepts and ideas are also applicable to non-financial portfolios. Asset price prediction is an important challenge in portfolio optimization. This project utilizes Support Vector Machines, a Machine learning algorithm for asset price prediction. SVM is very accurate and gives better results compared to other techniques. This project is mainly concentrated on predicting asset price followed by portfolio optimization considering the risk and return associated with each and every asset using R programming.
Introduction:The burden of CKD is on the rise globally and in India. There are scarce population based studies based in rural industrialized settings in India and elsewhere.Objective:To find out the prevalence and determinants of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) among adults in rural Pondicherry, IndiaMethods:It was a community-based cross-sectional study in 13 villages of a Primary Health Centre in rural Pondicherry. A representative sample of 422 adults more than or equal to 50 years of both genders was selected by population proportional to size methods. All the participants were screened by SCORED questionnaire to get the potential cases of CKD. We did serum creatinine, urine examination, blood pressure and anthropometric measurement for the potential cases. CKD was diagnosed by estimation of glomerular filtration rate and presence of protienuria. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science version 24. The study was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee of SMCMCH, Pondicherry.Results:The prevalence of CKD was found to be 24.2% in the study sample of respondents 50 years or more. Most (73.5%) of the CKD cases were at stage 2, Stage 3a had 15% and stage 3b had 2% of the cases. The determinants of CKD were (60-69 years, PR: 2.36,CI:1.36-4.07), poor nutrition(underweight, overweight and obesity)poor nutritional status (underweight:PR: 2.26,CI:1.05-4.89), (overweight:PR: 2.19,CI:1.06-4.52), (obese:PR: 2.13 CI: 1.13-4.01) and presence of at least one chronic co-morbidity(PR:5.85,CI:1.38-24.78). Majority of the patients in the CKD group had minimal proteinuria 87.25%. And 42.15% of the CKD group had no k.w:5 or k.w:6.Conclusion and Recommendation:Considering the higher prevalence of CKD in the study area, targeted screening of adult population should be undertaken as means of early detection, diagnosis, treatment and follow up of at-risk individuals to prevent further progression of CKD. Further research is required to look at the aetiology of CKD.
Shop Floor Management is the major challenging problem for any manufacturing industry. The objectives of any shop floor are minimizing the wastages, reducing the idle time, maximizing the productivity and reducing the defectives. Our paper has tried to evolve a Decision Support System (DSS) that utilizes Fuzzy Logic Decision Making approach to identify the repetitive consumption of spare parts, poor performing machines etc. All these data are entered in the master database which could be manipulated and customized reports could be generated with the help of DSS. The reports will be of immense help in taking corporate decision making with respect to the shop floor management. Besides, the results of Fuzzy Logic have also been validated using Genetic Algorithm(GA). The maximum possible productivity and least idle time have been found by using GA by selecting a random population by tournament selection and various operations like Crossover, Mutation etc. have been performed on the mating pool retaining the best chromosomes and eliminating the chromosomes which cannot survive among the mating pool. These iterations are carried out until the productivity value converges.
Background: One of the authors living in Yelagiri Hills incidentally noticed that the one government school and two hostels there, were facing acute issues with performance and multiple student health issues. Hence the action research was undertaken to address the problem and simultaneously to empower the local community. Methods: It was a mixed-method action research study comprising of quantitative surveys (before- after design) and qualitative approach (participatory intervention). At baseline survey 177 children in two residential hostels and one government school were examined using a locally adapted Global School based Student Health Survey questionnaire. The hemoglobin level was estimated using WHO hemoglobin color scale. The participatory interventions were carried out through School Health Committee. Periodic health checkup with hemoglobin levels and school performance were examined. After one year, 230 children were examined in the follow up survey using the same questionnaire. Results: There was significant improvement in the personal hygiene and reduction in related morbidity among the children. The number of students of hemoglobin level less than 12gm% decreased from 31.4% to 11.3%.The number of students of hemoglobin level more than or equal to 12gm% increased from 68.6% to 88.7%. There was significant decline in anemia from 31.4% from baseline to 11.3% at follow up survey. There was also significant decrease in the malnutrition. Conclusion: The need based participatory health promoting school initiative for tribal children at Yelagiri hills led to a significant improvement in the school performance and general health conditions of the children. The school health committee has played a vital role in the sustainability of the project. The action research could bring positive improvements in health status of school children through active participation of students, parents, teachers and community members.
In any organization, shop floor control seems to be a vital and pivotal activity and effective shop floor control paves the way for cent percent production. Effective utilization of resources, proper production planning, and successful maintenance would always pave the way for high productivity which in turn fulfills the commitment to meet out the delivery schedule for customers. Hence it is understood that continuous and consistent shop floor management demands a serious focus that contributes to sound operations management. More developments have taken place in the recent decade in framing new methodologies and adopting new advanced techniques to control the shop floor activities of an organization. The purposes of our paper is to bring out a new model for shop floor control using the Fuzzy Logic Decision Taking technique to help the operations professionals to enable them for successful professional decision making in shop floor control. Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) Techniques have witnessed tremendous application in operations management. Our paper has successfully attempted to apply Fuzzy Logic Decision-Making Technique which is one among the various MCDM tools. The technique considers many factors like Production, Wastages, Breakdown or Idle Time etc and these factors are treated as criteria and upon using the tool, the Management Information System(MIS) reports generated after mathematical manipulation using Fuzzy Logic seems to be much useful for corporate decision making.

Professional education has become very much challenging as it is competitive, research-oriented and result-oriented. The students have to struggle and toil to cope with their academic schedule. As the day to day activities are hectic and tightly scheduled, the students have to balance their academic and personal life, for which emotional stability is very much essential. Stress is the main factor responsible for weakening the emotional balance of students. This paper has made an attempt to peruse and analyse the causes and effects of stress using an optimisation technique with fuzzy logic decision-making (FLDM). This paper has applied multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) tool as demonstrated by Tseng and Klein (1992) for analysing the above scenario and has offered valid findings and valuable suggestions. The purpose of this paper is to understand and demonstrate the concepts of fuzzy logic decision-making (FLDM) approach. The methodology involves identifying the key parameters and developing the fuzzy sets for the same. From the developed fuzzy sets membership grades are calculated, tabulated and ranked as per fuzzy norms. The study is confined to the students of the engineering (UG all years of information technology and mechanical engineering). The study reveals the various stress causing factors and suggests some stress relieving methods.
Objectives: To study the common chronic health problems among the elderly patients attending in recently initiated geriatric screening OPD at the RHTC. Material and Methods: Since one year, screening OPD has been started at RHTC of SMVMCH, for old patients (>60 years), twice a week. A team of trained medical interns, a post-graduate, a faculty in Community Medicine and a counselor screen and counsel the elderly patients for common medical and mental health problems. The screening tool is structured and has been adopted for patients of geriatric OPD at RHTC. The screening tool consist of General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-5), Psychosis screening, Alzheimer’s disease (AD8) questionnaire and checklist of common medical conditions. Patients were screened for early detection of health problems followed by counseling them/their caregivers and referral to specialty OPD for further care. Results: Total 512 elderly patients were screened over 4 months period from the start of geriatric OPD. Out of them, 276 (54%) and 117 (23%) were between the age group of 60-65 years and 66-70 years respectively. Among them 387 (75%) were below poverty line and 68 (13.3%) were having some kind of health insurance. GHQ score indicates that 255 (50%) patients had a score more than one and it was significantly higher among females compared to males. About 76 (16.8%) elderly had a score of > 1 for psychosis, out of which only 12 (14%) were referred to the higher centre. AD8 score shows 204 (40%) patients attended the clinic having a score more than 1 and it is significantly higher among females compared to males. Counseling for caregivers was given only in 13 (6%) of the patients with high AD8 score. Common chronic conditions present among them were joint pains (310, 60%), visual disturbances (247, 48%), hearing difficulty (120, 23.4%) and hypertension (107, 21%). Conclusion: The proportion of people with AD8 score more than 1 is high and most common chronic condition seen is joint pain. The action component of the clinic such as referral of dementia patients, psychosis patients and counseling of their care-givers need to be strengthened.
In current corporate scenario, the performance of human beings has become more challenging due to several aspects like work environment, peers competition, organizational conflicts, working stress, project deadlines, etc, . Among all factors stress plays a major role in motivating or de-motivating an individual. Our paper has tried to peruse the origin, nature and effects of stress for budding professionals like engineering students. The paper has categorized the factors responsible for causing the stress to the professional students of Information Technology. Optimization technique ANN (1) tool has been used to identify the stressed professionals. The results have been validated using Statistical Analysis and determine the most significant factor for causing stress.
