Rhodiola species are traditionally used to mitigate hypoxia-related symptoms, but comparative evidence on their chemical bases and active constituents is limited. We implemented an integrated "qualitative analysis-pharmacological exploration-correlation analysis-molecular validation" workflow to compare Rhodiola crenulata, R. kirilowii, and R. rosea. Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-Q Exactive mass spectrometry (UPLC-QE-MS) profiling identified 175 metabolites across the three species, of which 161 were shared; multivariate analyses (principal component analysis, PCA; partial least squares-discriminant analysis, PLS-DA) revealed 30 differential compounds. In a normobaric hypoxia mouse model using herbal powder solutions, all three species significantly increased survival time versus control (p < 0.05), with mean survival times of 48.16 min (RR), 47.07 min (RC), and 44.82 min (RK) compared with 44.34 min for the positive control. Chemometric correlation (partial least squares regression, PLSR) combined with grey relational analysis (GRA) prioritized 14 compounds consistently associated with anti-hypoxia efficacy; six representative metabolites-epicatechin, 3-O-galloylquinic acid, salidroside, p-coumaric acid-4-O-glucoside, citric acid, and geraniol-were selected for in silico assessment. Molecular docking against hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) yielded favorable binding poses (docking scores < -4.0), providing preliminary molecular-level plausibility without claiming mechanistic proof. This multi-level approach clarifies chemical-pharmacological relationships among Rhodiola species and provides prioritized candidate compounds for targeted isolation and mechanistic validation.
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE:Hanchuan Zupa Granule(HCZP) is a classic Uygur medicine compound with a long history and proven efficacy. They have been included in the National Essential Medicines List of China and are commonly used in the treatment of asthma. It is of significant importance to elucidate its mechanisms through modern pharmacological research. AIM OF THE STUDY:This study proposes a comprehensive research approach combining "disease circadian rhythm-drug target prediction-drug efficacy validation" to explore the optimal timing and mechanism of asthma treatment by examining the relationship between disease, medication, and time, supplemented by experimental investigations. MATERIALS AND METHODS:①Network pharmacology predicted the targets and mechanisms of HCZP's immune modulation in asthma. ②Preliminary research on antiasthmatic medication times from ancient and modern sources identified the most frequent time, which was used for grouping in this study. An ovalbumin-induced asthma model and the lung pathology, pulmonary function, and bronchial obstruction were used to detect the lung condition of asthmatic mice. Serum and lung tissue were analyzed for immunoglobulins and Th2 cytokines. MUC5AC mRNA and protein levels, along with mucus staining, were measured to evaluate airway mucus secretion. RESULTS:①Network pharmacological analyses showed that among the immune response-related pathways, the IL-17 signalling pathway had the highest aggregation and was associated with Th2 cells in asthma pathogenesis. ②In biological effect experiments, HCZP of all time subgroups could delay the progression of asthma pathology to a certain extent, increased FVC, FEV75, PEF, MMEF, IC to different degrees, and down-regulated IgE and Th2 characteristic cytokine expression. In terms of reducing mucus expression, the expression of MUC5AC was inhibited to varying degrees. In the treatment of asthma, the reasonable time to take the medicine is "evening (before going to bed)" CONCLUSION: This study, grounded in the disease circadian rhythm, applies an integrated approach combining drug target prediction and drug efficacy validation to explore the optimal timing for asthma treatment. This method is anticipated to introduce a novel strategy for clinical therapy.
Health is the basic condition for economic and social development, and in order to improve the quality of life of the people and make the country rich and strong, the first step is to realize a long and healthy life for the nation. To realize a long and healthy life, improving the health literacy of the nation is the way to go. To construct the core knowledge entries of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) health literacy for women and apply them to provide a scientific basis for the development of TCM health literacy in women. Taking the core knowledge entries of women's health literacy as the research object, combining with the methods of field visits and questionnaires, we investigated the cognitive level of women's health literacy of traditional Chinese medicine and the current situation of medical staff's propaganda and education. We systematically sorted through TCM gynecology ancient books, health literacy-related literature, and policy documents, and constructed a framework for the core knowledge entries of women's TCM health literacy. Through expert consensus meetings and Delphi expert consultations, the core knowledge entries of women's TCM health literacy was finally formulated and underwent preliminary population pilot promotion and feedback. The core knowledge entries of women's TCM health literacy were ultimately determined, including 3 first-level knowledge entries, 18 second-level knowledge entries, 82 third-level knowledge entries, and 4 fourth-level knowledge entries. After promotion, the results of the examination of women's TCM health literacy showed that women's TCM health literacy was generally high, with 94.18% (97/103) of women possessing TCM health literacy. Among them, women with high TCM health literacy accounted for 63.11% (65/103), and the learning effect was significant. More than 91% (94/103) of the respondents were satisfied with the knowledge entries of women's TCM health literacy, and more than 93% (96/103) of the respondents believed that the knowledge entries were helpful. Constructing the core knowledge entries and main contents of women's TCM health literacy and promoting and applying them is conducive to improving women's TCM health literacy.
BackgroundChinese patent medicines are specialty preparations in China that are produced using traditional prescriptions processed by modern pharmaceutical technology. They contain complex ingredients and much attention is paid to their clinical safety. Demonstrating the clinical safety of Chinese patent medicines containing toxic ingredients in modern pharmacological studies has become one of the urgent issues to be solved for the safe use of clinical medicines.ObjectivesThe aim of this research is to evaluate the safety of Chinese patent medicines containing toxic ingredients by applying the risk-benefit assessment method. Additionally, a database of ‘toxic ingredients–toxic Chinese herbal medicines-adverse reactions’ will be established to explore the relationship between toxic ingredients and adverse reactions. This will lay the foundation for the rational clinical use of Chinese patent medicines containing toxic ingredients.Methods1) Establish a database of ‘toxic Chinese herbal medicines–toxic ingredients–toxic Chinese patent medicines’ to count the Chinese patent medicines containing toxic ingredients in the 2020 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia. 2) Filtered the clinical studies, extracted the drug-related ADEs, and analyzed the characteristics and correlations of these ADEs. 3) Finally, this section summarizes the causes of ADEs related to Chinese patent medicines containing toxic ingredients and extracts the main risk factors to provide a reference for further study.Outcomes1) There are four main types of Chinese patent medicines containing toxic ingredients. These include medicines with diester aconitine metabolites, mineral composition, Araceae metabolites, and hydrogen cyanide. 2) Digestive system, skin and its appendages, and allergic reactions were the main types of ADEs related to four types of Chinese patent medicines containing toxic ingredients. 3) There are four primary risk factors associated with the clinical use of Chinese patent medicines containing toxic ingredients: medicine, medication, individual and regulatory factors.
Fibrotic pulmonary sarcoidosis (FPS) has a high mortality rate, yet its pathogenesis remains unclear, and effective treatments are lacking. This study performs a bibliometric and visual analysis of the existing literature on FPS to address the gap in research trends and hotspots. A total of 962 relevant publications were analyzed using CiteSpace to explore publication years, scientific collaboration networks, journals, references, and keywords. The results show a steady increase in FPS research, with key authors and institutions driving research forward, and emerging hotspots covering related diseases, complications, treatments, and biomarkers. This study provides valuable insights into FPS research trends and future directions.
Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH), an autosomal dominant genetic disease, is increasingly emerging as a global threat. To learn more about the development of FH, 1 617 papers about FH and related research were retrieved in the Web of Science Core Collection from 2011 to 2021. Then, these publications were scientometrically analyzed based on CiteSpace and VOSviewer in terms of spatiotemporal distribution, author distribution, subject categories, topic distribution, and references. The results showed that research on FH is at a stable stage. More FH research has been conducted in developed countries, implying the necessity for strengthening international cooperation and exchanges. We have obtained scholars, institutions, relevant journals, and representative literatures that play an important role in FH. The research direction of FH is on the mechanisms of FH and its complications, diagnosis, statin therapy, and new lipid-lowering drug therapy. Care is the research frontier in FH, and it is in an explosive period.

Patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) are more likely to have cardiovascular disease (CVD). Glucose-lowering drugs with cardiovascular benefits represented by Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP1RAs) were discovered and gained more and more attention. Data from 1985 to the 2021 were downloaded in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. CiteSpaceV was used for bibliometric analysis to find research hotspots and frontiers. The 2088 papers were published by 74 countries (regions), 876 institutions, and 2203 authors. The annual publications increased over time from 2005 to 2020. DIABETES OBESITY METABOLISM published the most papers. The USA and China were the top 2 productive nations. The leading institution was the University of Copenhagen, and the most productive researcher was John B Buse. The most cited paper is "Liraglutide and Cardiovascular Outcomes in Type 2 Diabetes" (by Marso SP, 2016). The research hotspots include the effects of GLP1RA on cardiovascular outcomes, efficacy, complicated metabolic abnormalities, protective mechanisms, and other novel anti-diabetic drugs for cardiovascular protection. Research frontiers include cardiovascular studies on semaglutide, as well as the most prominent research approach in the field—placebo-controlled trial. Numerous countries, institutions, and authors have focused on GLP1RA in cardiovascular research and a great deal of literature has been published. Five research hotspots and two frontiers illustrate the current status and emerging trends of GLP1RA in cardiovascular research. The cardiovascular effects and clinical efficacy of GLP1RA are a current hot topic that is rapidly evolving and of high research value.
As the rapidly aging population and the rising incidence of end-stage heart failure, extensive research has been conducted on heart transplantation (HTx). Bibliometrics harbors the function for describing the relationships of knowledge structures in different research fields and predicting the growth trend. The publications were searched and filtered based on the Web of Science core database. The target literature was visualized and analyzed by CiteSpace or VOSviewer. In total, 19,998 published papers were obtained. There is a wave-like growth in HTx development. Most advanced research results are concentrated in a few developed countries, while the interactions with developing countries are still in infancy. The United States occupies a strong dominant position among active countries on HTx. Early research hotpots mostly focused on primary disease, survival risk factors, and complications. In recent years, the research frontiers have shifted steadily to clinical evaluation of immunosuppressants and diagnosis of acute rejection, cardiac re-injury with coronavirus disease 2019, innovations in ventricular assist devices, and donation allocation strategies. The research directions of HTx are gradually shifting from observational studies to intervention research.
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE:Exocarpium Citri Grandis (Huajuhong) is an authentic Chinese materia medica with excellent curative effects on relieving cough and reducing phlegm, which has been reputed as "Southern Ginseng" in China for a long history. AIM OF THE STUDY:To establish a sequential grade evaluation method with strong operability and controllable quality for Huajuhong decoction pieces. MATERIALS AND METHODS:(1) Indicators of ingredients and bio-effects were predicted by network pharmacology, and the potential pharmacodynamic ingredients and key targets were analyzed integrating screening results and literatures. (2) 45 batches of Huajuhong decoction pieces from different producing areas were collected and graded by original plant, planting place, and harvesting time. The chemical indicators determination of Huajuhong decoction pieces was conducted by Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC). (3) 112 rats with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) model were used to evaluated the efficacy within graded groups. RESULTS:(1) There are 22 key targets corresponding to 20 potential ingredients related to immunity and inflammation pathways for Huajuhong. Naringin and rhoifolin were chosen as the chemical indicators, and IL-6, IL-8, MCP-1, MIP-1α, TNF-α, TGF-β1 were selected as bio-indicators for different grades of Huajuhong decoction pieces. (2) The contents of the naringin and rhoifolin can reflect the quality of different grades of Huajuhong decoction pieces. (3) The efficacy of different grades of Huajuhong decoction pieces can delay the progression of IPF in varying degrees via the selected bio-indicators' pathways. CONCLUSIONS:This sequential grading evaluation method is an attempt to apply systems pharmacology which integrates network pharmacology, quantitative chemical and experiments on animals to the classification of TCM decoction pieces. Combining the concepts of traditional theory and modern technology to explain the complex grading mechanism of TCM decoction pieces is worth popularizing and applying.
CD36作为清道夫受体,在动脉粥样硬化相关的脂质代谢及氧化应激过程均起重要作用.现就CD36在动脉粥样硬化形成过程中对血管平滑肌细胞、微血管内皮细胞、单核/巨噬细胞和血小板活化相关氧化应激过程影响的研究现状进行综述,为临床动脉粥样硬化的治疗提供新的角度和思路.
Atherosclerosis (AS) is widespread and develops into circulatory system problems. T cells play an essential regulatory role in AS occurrence and development. So far, there is no bibliometric research on T cells and AS. To learn more about T cell and AS development, 4,381 records were retrieved from Web of Science™ Core Collection. Then, these records were scientometrically analyzed using CiteSpace and VOSviewer in terms of spatiotemporal distribution, author distribution, subject categories, topic distribution, references, and keywords. Our analysis provides basic information on research in the field, demonstrates that the field has stabilized over the past decade, and identifies potential partners for interested researchers. Current research hotspots in this field mainly include the inflammatory mechanism, immune mechanism, related diseases, and related cytokines of AS. B cell, mortality, inhibition, and monocyte represent the frontiers of research in this field, undergoing an explosive phase. We hope that this work will provide new ideas for advancing the scientific research and clinical application of T cell and AS.
目的 梳理妇女健康素养领域相关文献,了解该领域的研究现状、热点和前沿.方法 从Web of Science检索相关文献,利用CiteSpace软件进行可视化分析,并生成知识图谱.结果 共检索到相关文献3576篇,被引频次去除自引55415次,篇均被引频次16.61次.1991-2010年,发文量较少,2011年开始逐步增长,2017-2021年增长迅猛.发文量较多的国家是美国、澳大利亚、英国;美国与其他国家的合作紧密,且中介中心性最高.加利福尼亚大学、哈佛大学和德克萨斯大学在妇女健康素养领域的研究较为深入.《PLoS One》《BMC Public Health》《International Journal of Envi-ronmental Research and Public Health》发文较多.结论 目前对妇女健康素养领域的研究热点集中在功能性健康素养、精神健康素养、网络信息健康素养、口腔健康素养4个方面;关注导致妇女健康素养低的因素:教育程度、种族、收入、年龄、信仰等;与妇女密切相关的生理现象及疾病也备受关注.
目的 研究骐龙血脉健方对载脂蛋白E基因敲除小鼠(ApoE-/-)动脉粥样硬化(AS)模型的血脂水平、主动脉CD36蛋白表达及血清Ox-LDL的影响.方法 8周龄健康雄性ApoE-/-小鼠40只,按随机数表法分为模型组、阿托伐组、骐龙血脉健方大、中、小剂量组,每组8只,均给予高脂饮食饲养14周,构建高脂血症小鼠模型.阿托伐组给予阿托伐他汀钙片溶液灌胃,中药干预组分别予骐龙血脉健方颗粒剂大(临床用量20倍)、中(临床用量10倍)、小(临床用量5倍)相应剂量灌胃14周.选取8周龄雄性C57BL/6J野生型小鼠8只作为空白组,给予正常饲料喂养.14周末检测血清总胆固醇(TC)、甘油三酯(TG)、高密度脂蛋白(HDL-C)、低密度脂蛋白(LDL-C)水平,ELISA法检测血清氧化低密度脂蛋白(Ox-LDL)水平.分离主动脉,油红染色,检测斑块面积占全动脉内膜面积的比值;蛋白印迹法检测主动脉CD36蛋白表达.结果 与空白组相比,模型组TC、TG、LDL-C水平显著升高(P<0.01);与模型组比较,阿托伐组TC、TG、LDL-C水平明显降低(P<0.01),骐龙血脉健方大剂量组TC、TG、LDL-C水平明显降低(P<0.01),骐龙血脉健方中、小剂量组TC水平显著降低(P<0.01),TG、LDL-C降低不明显(P>0.05);大剂量组TC水平低于阿托伐组(P<0.01),而TG水平高于阿托伐组(P<0.05);中、小剂量组TC水平与阿托伐组无明显差异(P>0.05).与空白组相比,模型组AS斑块面积与内膜总面积比值显著升高(P<0.05);与模型组相比,阿托伐组和骐龙血脉健方大剂量组AS斑块面积与内膜总面积比值明显降低(P<0.05);与阿托伐组相比,大剂量组AS斑块面积与内膜总面积比值无明显变化(P>0.05).与空白组相比,模型组Ox-LDL水平显著升高(P<0.01);与模型组相比,阿托伐组、骐龙血脉健方大剂量组、中剂量组Ox-LDL水平均降低(P<0.05),其中大剂量组降低最为明显(P<0.01);与阿托伐组相比,大、中剂量组Ox-LDL水平无明显变化(P>0.05).与空白组相比,模型组主动脉CD36蛋白表达明显升高(P<0.01);与模型组相比,阿托伐组主动脉CD36蛋白表达有所减少(P<0.05),骐龙血脉健方大剂量组主动脉CD36蛋白表达明显减少(P<0.01);与阿托伐组相比,骐龙血脉健方大剂量组主动脉CD36水平无明显变化(P>0.05).结论 骐龙血脉健方可有效改善高脂饮食ApoE-/-小鼠血脂水平,减轻动脉粥样硬化程度,其机制可能与降低血清Ox-LDL水平、下调主动脉CD36蛋白表达有关.
Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF) is a heterogeneous disease, which is becoming a worldwide menace. By retrieving the relevant literature of HFpEF from 2000 to 2021, qualitative and quantitative evaluations are carried out to visualize the scientific achievements in this field. The data were from the Web of Science Core Collection database. The bibliometric tool-CiteSpace is used for scientific econometric analysis to understand the development of disciplines and research hotspots in this field. A total of 6318 HFpEF-related research papers were collected by Web of Science Core Collection database from 2000 to 2021, and the number of published papers and citations were in the rising stage. Fund-funded publications accounted for 80.4 percent of total publications, mainly at the national level, with the largest number being funded by the United States Department of Health and Public Services. The number of publications and centrality of the USA ranked first, indicating that the USA is mature in this research field and is in a leading position in the industry, which may benefit from the contributions of scientific research institutions such as Mayo Medical Center, Brigham Women's Hospital, Northwest University and Duke University. Low-income and middle-income countries lag far behind developed countries in terms of health care and scientific research and need to strengthen international cooperation. Bibliometric analysis shows that the main research directions of HFpEF are epidemiology, treatment, and comorbidity research of HFpEF and atrial fibrillation. Chronic microvascular inflammation is the latest research paradigm of HFpEF, especially phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors.
Background The global community has been affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which emerged in December 2019. Since then, many studies have been conducted on cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and COVID-19. The aim of this study was to perform a bibliometric and visual analysis of the published relationship between CVDs and COVID-19. Methods 1,890 publications were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database on January 5, 2022. Microsoft Office Excel and CiteSpace were then used to carry out scientometric analysis on the relevant literature according to seven aspects: document type, countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, references, and keywords. Results The research on CVDs and COVID-19 is currently in a period of rapid development, with China, USA, England, and Italy leading the field. There is active cooperation between most countries and institutions. Harvard Medical School stands out among the many institutions not only for the largest number of publications, but also for their high quality. Banerjee A, Solomon SD and Narula J are three representative authors in this field. Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine was the journal with the highest number of published studies, and The Lancet was the most cited journal. Two documents with a high degree of significance in this field were identified. Popular research topics in this field are specific diseases, such as acute coronary syndrome and heart failure; pathogenesis related to ACE2, insulin resistance and pericyte; the specific therapeutic drug chloroquine; and clinical characteristics, physical activity, and mental health. ACE2 and NF-κB will be the focus of future research. Conclusions This study provides useful information for the research of CVDs and COVID-19, including potential collaborators, popular research topics, and a reference for more extensive and in-depth research in the future.
Background: Homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia (HoFH) patients have little or no low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) function. HMG-CoA (3-hydroxy-3-methyl glutaryl coenzyme A) reductase inhibitors (statins) and proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors have limited lipid-lowering effects, therefore, there is an urgent need to develop new HoFH treatments. In 2012, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the administration of lomitapide for lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels. However, lomitapide is associated with various gastrointestinal disorders, elevated hepatic alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels and other adverse reactions, thus, its long-term efficacy and safety in pediatrics and adults should be evaluated. A systematic review conducted in 2017 reported the efficacy and safety of lomitapide in Family hypercholesterolaemia (FH) patients. In this systematic review, we elucidate on the efficacy and safety of lomitapide in HoFH patients. Methods: A search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane library databases to identify valid studies involving lomitapide-treated HoFH patients published before 11th August 2021. Results: A total of 18 clinical studies involving 120 lomitapide-treated HoFH patients were identified. Lomitapide significantly suppressed LDL-C levels in HoFH patients. Clinical manifestations for lomitapide in children were comparable to those in adults. The most common adverse events were gastrointestinal disturbances and elevated ALT levels. However, most patients tolerated the treatment-associated adverse reactions. Low-fat diets and drug dose adjustments were appropriate measures for controlling the treatment-associated adverse reactions. Conclusions: In pediatric and adult HoFH patients, lomitapide significantly suppresses LDL-C levels, therefore, it is an important option for HoFH treatment. The most common adverse events of lomitapide treatment include gastrointestinal disorders and elevated hepatic ALT levels. Despite the limitations, lomitapide is feasible for long-term treatment of HoFH patients, with dietary and safety monitoring. Registration Number in PROSPERO: CRD42021284425.
动脉粥样硬化(AS)是心脑血管基础疾病,痰瘀互结是AS的主要形成过程.本文通过总结痰瘀同治抗AS机制的相关研究,发现痰瘀同治主要通过抑制血管平滑肌增殖及迁移、保护血管内皮功能、调节脂质代谢、缓解异常血流动力学、调节炎症反应等发挥抗AS作用.但目前研究仍存在模型选取和研究方法的缺陷,在后续研究中应当充分发挥中医药特色,利用前沿技术方法为AS的治疗提供更高质量的循证依据.
目的 通过对有关钙离子通道在心血管领域的文献进行计量、共现、共被引及可视化分析,探索该领域近15年的发展状况、研究热点及动态前沿.方法 以Web of Science(WOS)中Science Citation Index Expanded(SCI-E)收录2004~2018年相关文献为对象,应用CiteSpace进行作者、机构、国家、关键词共现分析,文献、期刊共被引分析,并绘制相关可视化图谱.结果 总检索获得3716篇文献,年均发文量接近250篇.年度发文量以上升并趋于稳定为主,高产国家为美国、英国、德国,其中美国在该领域占据主导优势,最高产的机构为美国的约翰霍普金斯大学,发文量最高的作者为加州大学戴维斯分校的DONALD MB,DONALD MB、XANDER HT、DOBROMIR DOBREV是该领域的代表人物,具有重要的影响力.被引频次最高的期刊是CIRCULATION.热点关键词为随机对照试验、基因表达、肌浆网、双盲、Ca2+激活的K通道、蛋白激酶A、细胞凋亡、心脏性猝死,可形成9个聚类群.预测发展趋势是方案设计改善,分子通路的突变层面研究,通过结构化方法对患者个体治疗寻找系统策略,预防并发症,从而降低心血管事件的危险性.结论 应用CiteSpace进行钙离子通道文献计量分析,初步直观地展示其发展仍较热门,揭示可合作的作者和机构,提供可参考的选题内容和发展方向,结果具有一定的重要价值和意义.
“人迎寸口脉法”是在对比人迎与寸口脉的基础上,判断病变经脉的阴阳虚实,以指导针刺选穴,于阴经选取一个穴位、阳经选取两个穴位,共三穴进行补泻针刺的一种古脉法.“角穴”则是在辨证论治基础上联合应用三个穴位结合补泻手法进行针刺,以治疗某种疾病.作者从人迎和寸口脉的定位及意义、“人迎寸口脉法”与阴阳盛衰、“人迎寸口脉法”与阴阳补泻三方面阐述其与“角穴”理论的内在关系,并扎根于《内经》,依据“子母补泻取穴法”指导临床选穴.
